Not necessarily citizens dude, I have legally lived in the United States for 27 years. I'm a legal resident that pays taxes and a number of other fees, I am however not a US citizen. I think a lot of Americans have troubles distinguishing between illegal immigrants, immigrants, legal residents and citizens.

Privatizing SS has always been pushed by establishment conservatives whose donor class is wall street. Trump has said leave the VA SS and Medicare alone but change medicaid and the food stamp program by requiring work or volunteering to receive benefits. Social Security is for the elderly and disabled. There are many "disabled" collecting benefits that are drug addicts. Addiction is not a disease. Put an addict in jail without being able to buy or steal drugs and they are cured. Put a person in jail with the disease of cancer; they are not cured because cancer is a real disease.

I could easily live with higher prices with American workers doing the manufacturing and distribution. At least my money would be going for higher wages for American workers. Don't be absurd. DeSantis should run for President, and win. And with the work he has also been doing in other states, he'll have this country running like a top. He is already uniting the party and other states are beginning to emulate what has been done in Florida. By the time DeSantis steps into the White House, Florida will be good to go. @@wqv5423ln They didn't have to change the rule...only clarify it. Legally, the law already allowed for him to run for President and still hold the governorship. I think he wouldn't have to resign as governor until just before taking the oath of office for the presidency. Others have done that sort of thing before. The law that was creating confusion only referred to running for a state office while holding another state office. Not holding a state office while running for a federal one. Running for a state office while in a position of power within the state would create problems, so it's easy to see why it would not be allowed. DeSantis wanted any vagueness about the law clarified. And so it was. That's one reason I like him. He understands the law and wanted to be sure it was done right. The guy is pretty thorough and by the book.

Especially with as polarizing a figure as Trump in the White House. The odds are that Trump would be a lame duck President, he would leave the country as divided as he did last time, and then a democrat would take office and proceed to undo what he did, just as Biden did this term. And I find it remarkable that anyone could say that it's not about ego, when Trump is ALL about ego most of the time. Yes we do need teamwork, but Trump isn't about teamwork at all. I have no problem with people who are here illegally working to provide for their families but they often cheat the system. The husband and wife work under the table, and the wife gets subsidized housing, food, medical, etc because they have children who are citizens. When she applies for these benefits, they say the father is in their home country. I have a friend who works for social services, she says its as if they are taught this because the majority of them say the same thing.
And illegals are found to be three times as likely to commit crimes as legals.

Nope. No wy in hell should he or will he acccept VP. Too good for that. Hes not Kamala or Pence. Only 10 times has VP's later been voted president out of 46 presidents.. And the only reason the last one #10 did was because he ran against a man that was hated by slightly over half the nation.
DeSantis would make a great anything. But he won't be working under Trump. Trump burned that bridge quite a while back. Trump will probably tap Kari Lake or someone else who is going to be very loyal to him and never disagree with what he does. DeSantis does not fit that bill. I can't figure you folks out and why you would think that DeSantis would even want such a position.

It was legal by default. Illegal immigration was an arbitrary concept we signed into law after we took a good long look at this country with millions of acres of empty land and said "Oh yeah, we're definitely running out of room"
Italians literally did nothing different from any other immigrant.
