If equality drives men from the home then maybe they were much of a man.
I blame the voters who keep this dinosaur in office.
So dinousaurs invented Science , facts and statistics ? Good to know. Thank you.

Married both working with two children. Owned multiple homes. Our youngest Daughter qualified for Pell grants. Vote this guy out. He should not be writing our laws
Perhaps we need to listen to his words of the "good" bread winner. I agree "good" bread winner men stepping up would be amazing, but that isn't reality.
Good isn't cheating, lying, abuse, addiction, and everything else that contributes to marriages and relationships ending. This applies to both parties in a commitment.
Marriages lasted in the 1960s and females married because they weren't given another option. Females couldn't just leave a bad marriage. Females couldn't get decent work that would pay bills because they weren't allowed to work at a lot of places men could.
Well, you’ve certainly enabled us to identify one man who’s “superfluous”!
10:18 This was God’s subtle way of telling him to stop talking!!! This guy is ridiculous and the living example of why our women and anyone considered a minority fought for basic rights.

Joking on your own words, Mr. Grothman.
This man looks to me like he has had one too many conversations with himself.
The damage is too complete. There will be no recovery. Too many people tolerate destruction.
You are right ...the GOP is going after complete destruction of any progress in the U.S.!

@@therealbigcock Did you forget that man happened with god?
Have you seen the price of a wedding lately? 🙄
lots of "layers" to this..............I have soo many questions.
Glenn Grothman says he supports single-mothers for raising kids by themselves, but he doesn’t believe women should receive equal pay to men because men are usually the breadwinners in the family. That logic tells you everything you need to know about him.
Hahaha. THIS guy. He is a little inaccurate.
If only there was some way in America to ensure America stays great. Funny how the people complaining the most are the ones who are supposed to be dealing with these things. This guy is the problem.
Who is Glenn Grothman but the poster boy for the breakdown of the American family? He willingly rants about the late feminist Kate Millett while ignoring her upbringing in a family with an abusive father who abandoned them when she was 14. If he is to lead by example, why did he never marry himself? He's clearly not gay, based upon his attacks on those who are, and I find it hard to believe that fine Lutheran women don't exist in his neck of the woods. Did his mother beat him? That would explain the misogyny.
Remember those who protest so much are loud 'cuz they're in the closet.
@@ggjohnson5754 If that's true, what a rotten little corner he painted himself into.
Closeted gay, ™
“They’ve taken the purpose of a man to be part of a family???” 😂😂😂 so he’s blaming the “system” to be the reason for divorces!!! The “system” is what allowed women to be free of abusive relationships.
Is this the 1750's?
Glenn Grothman WISHES he could bring us back to that time LOL
This is gay
Why do you assume that only a MAN can be a good bread winner??? Seriously. Wake up!

@@nullentry6032
Parents?
I wouldn't cast un-nuanced blame, but it's certainly food for thought.
I think WWI & II had a huge impact on parenting, and an environment of ultra-abundance and exponential technological development had major effects too, especially radio n TV --- but his observation of the terrible effects of family breakdown and the connection to ideology are not talked about enough, but are actually pushed as solutions - which is wild!
In what ways do you think the generational issues played a part? 🤔
Fox News exists to get older people upset, it's their business model. Fear sells, keeps 'em angry and scared, which keeps 'em watching plus they consume more. To the point of becoming preppers sometimes. Win win for Corporate America!
“A man who’s the breadwinner in the house” WTF!?!?!
This guy could have written the HANDMAIDS TALE! He wishes we were in the 1950s now!
So do most men in the dating game.
Handmaid's Tale is a fantasy BDSM novel which takes inspiration from Islamic behavior but slaps a Christian veneer on it specifically to demonize Christians. Christians in the 1950s had overwhelmingly stable and peaceful lives with just 'one man and one woman' matrimony with women happier than ever before in human history (thanks to the economic boom of a world being rebuilt by the only manufacturing center on earth).
Wait … so you think the destruction of the nuclear family was positive? Here are some FACTS for you. The single biggest predictor of whether a child ends up in jail, becomes poor, addicted to drugs, ends up in prison, has no education is wether or not they come from a single mother household with no father. Pretty wild huh? But also completely true. Also, biggest single indicator of financial success is whether or not you’re married. With these cut and dry facts, ask yourself why isn’t marriage and the nuclear family promoted to mainstream America? Why is the breakdown of the nuclear family promoted to middle America, when it’s clearly that this makes people poor and less educated.
Wow, I didn't realise he was also a talented writer!
.. quite a guy!
@@nullentry6032 The Handmaid's Tale" was inspired by biblical passages, the Salem witch trials, and American politics in the 1980s. When Margaret Atwood was writing the book, she took inspiration from, among other things, the rise of the Christian right in America during the 1970s and ’80s.

@@harlanjackson6112
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic 🤔
@@gnoelalexmay Sorry, l will expand on my thoughts. Glenn starts out with good points about some entitlements being abused. Then he takes a giant leap to suggest all our problems are because of the breakdown of the traditional family. Know how many families had dad's who beat their wives in the '50's, with said wives staying because of limited options? Even the feminist he griped about was beaten by her own father who ultimately abandoned her family when she was 14. Glenn laments about the breakdown of the family when he never started one himself. Never even married. Ever know someone without kids trying to tell you how to raise yours? THAT'S this idiot. I get that he's well spoken and saying a lot of things you like to hear. But to think that the man's PURPOSE in a family is to be the breadwinner is so archaic. One of my best friend's wife worked as an executive and made way more than him, enabling him to go back to school and become a teacher, a childhood dream. He coached sports too, spent more time with his kids, etc. No, he didn't bring home much money. But the value to his kids and those of the community was priceless.
This man is a hypocritical busybody repeating nonsense about relationships *he has never experienced.*
@@harlanjackson6112
No, I'm afraid I don't know how many dad's (tragically) beat their wives in the 50s, but I am certain that the impression of the problem has been exaggerated by interested parties. _(I really don't think that is a controversial view, people exaggerate, or omit facts to make points)_
I also strongly suspect that those situations, horrible as they certainly are, _(the amount of people who endorse this behaviour are so vanishingly small, we really shouldn't have to defend our opinions on society and policy against it)_ - are not comparable to downstream effects of family breakdown, such as the epidemic of fatherlessness - especially considering that the boys/men who result from these broken families are more likely to exhibit antisocial behaviours including physical violence toward their partners, and create a feedback loop of poor father figures and fatherlessness.
The use of words like "mansplaining" are so unhelpful and are really quite insulting. The use of emotional blackmail and dismissing male opinion, together with referring to men as "toxic", is wearing extremely thin.
If you read any gender-based headline in recent years and flip the genders and look for a headline of similar message and word-choice, you will see, _very clearly_ , that we have an extremely misandric society that has had no sign of slowing down.
We must stop the emotional blackmail and character assassination of anyone who disagrees with this direction, it is too harmful.
The man from the movie “Up” speaks with common sense.
Don’t forget section 8 housing where women have men living with them for free
Well he does have a point.
He does. But to go from some gaming the system back to forcing women to stay in abusive relationships by eliminating safety nets is not a good idea. Should entitlements be policed better? Probably. Should education and job training be included? Maybe. How about some sort of National Service requirement for our youth at age 18, with options between Military service, Climate Corps, community service for underprivileged, elderly, etc? We are divided as a Nation and it's not just about what a 'family' looks like. We're a diverse Nation and that won't change. Get the youth to GAF about something and contribute to the good of us all, and recognize that different people have different interests. Some women are much better breadwinners than their husbands, because again people are different. And that's where Glenn missed the boat.

This guy is spot on. People in the comments are weak .
I love to see how mad dems get just because hes speaking the truth
But he isn't. For instance, he ignores that Kate Millett's father beat his wife and children regularly, and completely abandoned his family when Millett was 14 years old. Family abandonment and abuse at the hands of supposed "breadwinners" was once a deeply serious problem that mothers had no legal recourse to change.
This man has never married. He is talking out of his ass.
This guy is a hero. He is talking about thd most serious issue in America. He is spiting facts
Lotta spite, not enough spittle.
The decline of the family? If that's the most serious issue we face, how ironic that he laments it while not even having a family of his own. Shouldn't he lead by example? Maybe he's being overly simplistic about the cause of the decline of the family. Kate Millett, the feminist he complained about, was beaten by her alcoholic father until he abandoned her family when she was 14.
@@harlanjackson6112 We know (collective knowledge aka Science) Feminism is to blame. He just gave an example.
@@jorge-7121 If you're suggesting that feminism is the reason for the decline of the nuclear family, I won't argue with you. I will add that feminism has deconstructed traditional marriage and made its costs more apparent.
