Ever since I realized and began to understand that the left had become infected with this postmodern woke/dei/hyperprogressivism I find myself in alignment with many of the people on the right that I'd never though I'd like. I'm an independent and I suppose I and many on the right have a common ideological and political enemy.

This is literally for the digital record. People hate DEI. When it first started we all tolerated it. Turns out it doesn't work. Now it has caused massive resentment among the people. Usually when this happens politicians double down go even harder on DEI. If they do that again there is no way I don't see resentment levels going to the levels of physical harm.

Citizens of each country wake up and keep waking up. Your governments aren’t for you.
In America it’s suppose to be the citizens government. Time to hold our officials accountable. From local, state and federal government vote these criminals out. Time to stand for your rights.
    Citizens demand more.

I will say this... with a lot of these issues, we have the blind leading the blind and dumb.
With AI, there DOES need to be government regulation, Asimov... the guy who popularized (and according to some created) the whole idea, explained that we need to be very careful to establish limiters in any kind of self-learning, artificial intelligence. This is what his "laws of robotics" were about. Above and beyond any talk of profit and what AI is used for... tight controls to make sure everything has "The Laws Of Robotics" installed, no matter how harmless the intent of the AI. Beyond that, I do think the government needs to stay out of it.
See, people tend to forget that all those "techno-horror" stories like "M3gan" or "The Terminator" happen because nobody put in the safeguards we were warned would be needed. That right there is the foundational difference between a glorious future with AI, and it becoming some kind of threat.
Now, as far as tech law itself goes, the thing is we cannot fix the current situation. What they need to do is create something along the lines of a "digital bill of rights" and a few new constitutional amendments governing tech. Ted Cruz is right that government bureaucrats do not belong being in charge deciding what can and cannot be developed. That does stifle innovation and growth. That said we also cannot let tech companies run rampant and become just as much of a problem, leading to some variation of the cyberpunk dystopia.
What they need to do is rather than having the government limit what can be done with this tech closely, simply put more general guidelines on it. Such as things like removing the bad "boomer logic" that lead to programs being released as licenses since they didn't want to deal with it, and force companies to ensure consumers always get value for their money and control over what they buy. They need to legislate away the ability of EULAs and their ability to get people to sign away their rights. They also need to do things like limit the ability of corporations to invade the privacy of their customers and database that information even for personal use. Not only is it ridiculous to effectively have companies engaging in warrantless wiretapping through their products, but to be able to database and sell that information, or use it to profile you to try and sell you products and such. Basically, private citizens should not have greater powers of surveillance over other citizens than the government has, especially since corporations are not elected and subject to the will of the people the same way.
Basically, rather than the government deciding what can be said using tech and censoring information, groups like the FCC should be put in charge of protecting your right to free speech online and holding corporations accountable for any kind of censorship, as well as acting if they are even suspected of gathering information on users, or making use of that information in any capacity, including personal gain. One of their first jobs should be to pretty much destroy the databases created by corporations like Apple and Google.
Oh don't get me wrong, I don't think this will happen, but consider, everything Tik Tok was accused of is happening right here in the US, it's just that The Chinese were better at it for the moment and obtained too much market penetration. Overall we need to elect in politicians that will prevent any of that kind of thing from happening.
See, for example, I think when it comes to internet business, other than needing an address and a payment that went through, they don't need anything else. I feel all that information should be deleted, and this "you need an account for everything" stuff should be gone. Cookies and tracking programs should be entirely banned, and not even enabled as a possibility on whatever replaces The Internet. If nothing else those databases are constant targets for breaches, not that I think corporations are any more good natured than the criminals who steal the data from them if you consider what their overall plans are.
I doubt many people read this far, but my answer to all of the "think of the children" crap when it comes to justifying internet controls is just to ban children from using the internet. I'm pretty much convinced a lot of younger people suffer from cognitive damage and some degree of addiction due to having been using the internet since their cradle with their parents letting them play with phones and tablets. No internet... or at least nothing like this, until they are adults with fully developed brains. Problem solved, no need to worry about who has all the creepy porn or might be a child predator because there won't be any children on there legally with the parents being held accountable like they are for most things if their kids are caught using the internet.

Diversion, Inclusion, and equality. I am thankful that this is the norm in my household. Everyone has a diverse way of thinking in my household. Everyone is included in my household. Everyone is treated not so equally but relatively close. There is nothing wrong with DEI. The rightful way of describing the acronym. Now if you are going to talk Algorithms, then there is no greater or faster community than technology itself. It is not Which A.I. technology is better. That is relative to speed. The faster of the two written Algorithms. The processor. The memory. Technology thankfully is not limited to America or China. Someone in Chile could be building their own technology. Someone in Uruguay could be installing the better algorithm. I am glad my life will end in the next 30 or so years. Maybe sooner. It just can't come soon enough. America's Government. These people running the show, are not of my choosing. They never would have been. Ever.
