Benson is just an super amazing player and have an extensive playing background with many music icons. Yet he's such a likeable engaging person his accomplishments speaks for itself.

I wish I was good enough to get a lesson from George Benson. I mean, to be able to sit in front of the man and let him hip you to whatever he was diggin' on at the time. Just to be able to listen to him talk music. All I can say is WOW!
I didn't hear any ego playing from Daryl at all. He just slipped in a nice substitution that got GB's attention in a pleasant way. I spent a solid week doing this same type of hanging playing learning with GB in the early 70's it was glorious. cliff in tokyo

I know both Daryl and George personally and very well, and both are the kindest, most selfless individuals I have ever known, I assure you that Daryl is the antithesis of egotistical.... he treasures every one of those butt-kickings George dishes out, as do I......
Whenever I see George playing in a casual setting these days, he always plays with his thumb instead of a pick. Does anybody know why this is? Is this a style he favors now or does he just not have a pick on him?
That's right, and if Darden had not made a little mistake we would have been able to listen "on green dolphin street" in full, haha !! No matter, GB is amazing as always.. It's a pity that he does not record albums "purely" jazz as it lately...
