Last time I had sleep paralysis I woke up laying on my side and I was convinced there was a group of people behind me on the other side of the bed discussing what they would do to turn me into a doll.
The last time I had sleep paralysis, I thought the dress on my mirror was a faceless woman trying to leave the mirror so she could take me back with her. When I finally regained a little bit of movement, I covered my head with the blanket and went back to sleep. Because that's what you do when you think something's trying to kill you.

But I think this one was paid for (it's been a while since I watched the video so I can't remember) and using these characters and sound clips without licensing and profiting off that isn't right. There are plenty of meme games that are just having fun and do it well.

Okay so i‘m dealing with sleep paralysis since round about three years. This Game Is not really conveying the feelings you have during a sleep paralysis. Strong Halluzinations can be very active but are not perceived that sharply. But oh boy... this topic would be good stuff for a Horror Game if someone could get ist right. At first it’s really scary but you can learn to deal with it :)
I usually have the shadowman or some thing laying in bed with me that I can’t see, but it keeps touching me and whispering gibberish in my ears. I only had a really sharply detailed hallucination once but it the kind of shit you never forget. Very tall and long creature covered in blood coming out of my bathroom, holding a plastic grocery bag filled with flesh and blood. That was one of the very few times I got out of the paralysis screaming in real life.
So how do you deal with it? Most times I can't help struggling. Staying calm is effective sometimes, other times it just pulls me back into the nightmare.
The feeling of crushing weight on your chest, the dread and frustration all set in your safe spaces the feeling of “drowning”. The horrific waking and not wanting to go back to sleep incase you slide back in that lucid hell. I’ve had them on and off for ten years. Also have auditory hallucinations with dreaming like gunshots, loud voices ect as you exit or enter R.E.M. sleep.
A huge issue for me with sleep paralysis games is that in my experience, it's a lot more physical than visual (with some audio shenanigans as well). That's not really translatable to a game in my opinion. When i have sleep paralysis, the most I ever see is a growing amorphous black blob in the corner of my room that gradually crosses the ceiling to my bed. The biggest part for me is the feeling of something crawling up my legs and feet and over my hands -- it provides the anticipation/tension that something's gonna yank me off the bed without any payoff. I have tinnitus in both ears, so sometimes I also hear ringing, but I'll also hear television static and sometimes indecipherable whispering. I think the best approach to this type of game would probably be a VR game, since it places you much more resolutely *in* the game. Even some of the physical aspects could be quasi replicated, as moving your arms would not translate into the game, creating a sensational dissonance. It would also guarantee a more "surround sound" audio experience. Then again, sleep paralysis seems different for everyone, so maybe something that concretely visual does work for some people ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
With me, I have "normal" dreams then "wake up" into sleep paralysis. I may then dream of getting up and then off the new dream goes, until I "wake up" again. Rinse and repeat. A girlfriend once watched it happen; she said my eyes were half open, which makes sense as I can perceive the room I'm in during the paralysis phase. I have to force out a scream to _actually_ wake up, once I realize I'm stuck. Otherwise I dream on for hours. It's horrible. But at least it only occurs every few months or so nowadays.

Anyway if you look for a possible good horror game that tries something a little different, maybe check out my game called "The Possession Experiment". it was on the top of itch for a few weeks and even Markiplier gave it a play and gave it high praise. As someone who suffers from insomnia which ultimately leads into sleep paralysis this isn't even close to horrifying. Actual sleep paralysis is terrifying, the things you see, the sounds they make, things they tell you... Watch The Nightmare, cellphone call portion of that is 100% accurate. Sleep paralysis is awful, I'd rather break my toes again, manually.

Much appreciated! Story time, though! In regards to the sleep paralysiz game, I used to get sleep paralysis from time to time, and I think I might still every once in a blue moon. Its so weird. It makes me wonder if it opens your mind to evil things from another realm or something, because you can come out from a totally normal dream that wasn't scary at all and seemingly wake up to something wildly unsettling. I'm bored, so I'll share a couple of experiences here. The first one I really remember was in highschool, and sleep paralysis made me hear my radio alarm for school go off, and it was playing George W. Bush's voice giving some type of announcement (he was president at the time), and then suddenly I hear gunshots outside the house and light flashed through the windows in my room with each bang. After I woke up for real, I asked my dad if he had heard gunshots or anything, or if Bush had given a speech. He said no, so I told him about it. He thought it was pretty bizarre. It certainly freaked me the fuck out. The next time was a bit spookier. I believe I was about 18. It was shortly after highschool. I was living in an apartment with my mom and she was gone that night over at my now stepfather's house. I woke up in sleep paralysis at about 2 a.m. I think it was. Like in the game, all I could move were my eyes, and I was facing my wall, so I couldn't see anything, but I heard a demonic voice chanting to the side of my bed toward the end. It sounded like he was speaking some like Latin language or something. I closed my eyes tight cause if it was there, I didn't wanna see it. I heard it stop chanting and walk up to the side of my bed right behind my head and say "Look at me... Look at me... LOOK AT ME!" and then I apparently snapped out of it. I turned around and there was nothing there. The strange thing was, before that event, everyone who came to the apartment, basically just me, my stepdad, and a couple friends I'd have over could feel this dark presence. It would feel like something was watching you, usually from my mom's bedroom. Maybe it was, and it came to mine that night because after that happened, we stopped having that strange feeling. Idk, it was pretty fucked up though. If any of you managed to read through all of this, you should share your sleep paralysis experiences as well if you've had any.

Okay so i‘m dealing with sleep paralysis since round about three years. This Game Is not really conveying the feelings you have during a sleep paralysis. Strong Halluzinations can be very active but are not perceived that sharply. But oh boy... this topic would be good stuff for a Horror Game if someone could get ist right. At first it’s really scary but you can learn to deal with it :)

I usually have the shadowman or some thing laying in bed with me that I can’t see, but it keeps touching me and whispering gibberish in my ears. I only had a really sharply detailed hallucination once but it the kind of shit you never forget. Very tall and long creature covered in blood coming out of my bathroom, holding a plastic grocery bag filled with flesh and blood. That was one of the very few times I got out of the paralysis screaming in real life.

So how do you deal with it? Most times I can't help struggling. Staying calm is effective sometimes, other times it just pulls me back into the nightmare.
The feeling of crushing weight on your chest, the dread and frustration all set in your safe spaces the feeling of “drowning”. The horrific waking and not wanting to go back to sleep incase you slide back in that lucid hell. I’ve had them on and off for ten years. Also have auditory hallucinations with dreaming like gunshots, loud voices ect as you exit or enter R.E.M. sleep.

A huge issue for me with sleep paralysis games is that in my experience, it's a lot more physical than visual (with some audio shenanigans as well). That's not really translatable to a game in my opinion.
When i have sleep paralysis, the most I ever see is a growing amorphous black blob in the corner of my room that gradually crosses the ceiling to my bed. The biggest part for me is the feeling of something crawling up my legs and feet and over my hands -- it provides the anticipation/tension that something's gonna yank me off the bed without any payoff. I have tinnitus in both ears, so sometimes I also hear ringing, but I'll also hear television static and sometimes indecipherable whispering.
I think the best approach to this type of game would probably be a VR game, since it places you much more resolutely *in* the game. Even some of the physical aspects could be quasi replicated, as moving your arms would not translate into the game, creating a sensational dissonance. It would also guarantee a more "surround sound" audio experience.
Then again, sleep paralysis seems different for everyone, so maybe something that concretely visual does work for some people ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
With me, I have "normal" dreams then "wake up" into sleep paralysis. I may then dream of getting up and then off the new dream goes, until I "wake up" again. Rinse and repeat.
A girlfriend once watched it happen; she said my eyes were half open, which makes sense as I can perceive the room I'm in during the paralysis phase. I have to force out a scream to _actually_ wake up, once I realize I'm stuck. Otherwise I dream on for hours. It's horrible. But at least it only occurs every few months or so nowadays.

When I saw the word "BAD" in the title I was a bit worried, about a game I develop to be on the list. Luckily -or-unluckily my game was not on your Random games list. Anyway if you look for a possible good horror game that tries something a little different, maybe check out my game called "The Possession Experiment". it was on the top of itch for a few weeks and even Markiplier gave it a play and gave it high praise. Not saying you might feel the same way about the game, but be great if you gave it a play and share your thoughts (Positive/Negative) on it.

I’ve had a few sleep paralysis experiences but my first one was when I was about 10 and I was lying down for what felt like minutes until I heard this computer voice say “Here is your first test. Are you ready?” And then I just bolted up. I know it sounds crazy, but it really happened

I think I love the fact that he is very genuine, human, and still has a sense of humility when he critiques games makes him stand out. ❤ I normally only put on "no commentary" playthroughs when I am studying or working on easy tasks because I tend to not enjoy most commentary but his videos are just too fun to watch.

As someone who suffers from insomnia which ultimately leads into sleep paralysis this isn't even close to horrifying. Actual sleep paralysis is terrifying, the things you see, the sounds they make, things they tell you... Watch The Nightmare, cellphone call portion of that is 100% accurate. Sleep paralysis is awful, I'd rather break my toes again, manually.

In regards to the sleep paralysiz game, I used to get sleep paralysis from time to time, and I think I might still every once in a blue moon. Its so weird. It makes me wonder if it opens your mind to evil things from another realm or something, because you can come out from a totally normal dream that wasn't scary at all and seemingly wake up to something wildly unsettling. I'm bored, so I'll share a couple of experiences here.
The first one I really remember was in highschool, and sleep paralysis made me hear my radio alarm for school go off, and it was playing George W. Bush's voice giving some type of announcement (he was president at the time), and then suddenly I hear gunshots outside the house and light flashed through the windows in my room with each bang. After I woke up for real, I asked my dad if he had heard gunshots or anything, or if Bush had given a speech. He said no, so I told him about it. He thought it was pretty bizarre. It certainly freaked me the fuck out.
The next time was a bit spookier. I believe I was about 18. It was shortly after highschool. I was living in an apartment with my mom and she was gone that night over at my now stepfather's house. I woke up in sleep paralysis at about 2 a.m. I think it was. Like in the game, all I could move were my eyes, and I was facing my wall, so I couldn't see anything, but I heard a demonic voice chanting to the side of my bed toward the end. It sounded like he was speaking some like Latin language or something. I closed my eyes tight cause if it was there, I didn't wanna see it. I heard it stop chanting and walk up to the side of my bed right behind my head and say "Look at me... Look at me... LOOK AT ME!" and then I apparently snapped out of it. I turned around and there was nothing there. The strange thing was, before that event, everyone who came to the apartment, basically just me, my stepdad, and a couple friends I'd have over could feel this dark presence. It would feel like something was watching you, usually from my mom's bedroom. Maybe it was, and it came to mine that night because after that happened, we stopped having that strange feeling. Idk, it was pretty fucked up though.
If any of you managed to read through all of this, you should share your sleep paralysis experiences as well if you've had any.
