I've struggled with mental illness from all 16 years I've lived, I've had multiple psychiatrists (due to them retiring), and I've had two therapists (one I'm currently seeing). Last time I checked a therapist CANNOT prescribe a controlled substance (like the ones that the therapist specifically stated caused delusions). If you're going to base something around a real-life topics (especially sensitive ones like mental illness), do two seconds of research. As an aside, I'd like to note that this doesn't really bother me all that much, I'm just trying to make the point that most indie game devs are unwilling to ever do any research. EDIT: if I'm wrong, please call me out (in a civilized manner, thank you). I've been trying much harder to be less of a hypocrite lately.
I think there are like 5 states where psychologists can prescribe medications. I'm not sure on the limits to what they can or can't prescribe but I'm fairly certain that it exists. However, for the most part no, therapists or counselors can't prescribe anything!
Thanks for the info Nick (glad I didn't make a fool of myself), and mcpuffin, I would honestly be surprised if they cared about anything in their game.
At least where I live, 99% of true therapists (private practicing ones)/psychologists/psychiatrists are also licensed APRN's... meaning they can and will prescribe necessary medication. Even certain ones that work in a community health center usually can as well. Granted, I live in CT, so it may be different elsewhere... but it's actually much more common than you think. I know this from current personal experience and having friends in the business (and having minored in it in College)...
Did anyone else think the chimp was just gonna come in & eat you or something in that last game? (I feel like they kinda hint at it with lines like ‘he is always hungry’ and ‘you will become a cookie’. Idk man chimp violence scares me)
I think the second game is based off a real game that's like hide and seek but you play with a doll that you ruined like you preform a ritual, by getting a doll cutting it open and then I dont remember but putting something inside of it and closing it specifically in red thread and then you put it in the tub with water and play, idk I barely remember it but it was trending such a long time ago and it can be dangerous if you dont play it right because the doll has to find you and kill you or hurt you and I do believe you leave the doll with a weapon of choice but I dont know, maybe the second game "find me" was inspired by it. But it really is familiar to it or similar.
Second game is based off of a Japanese myth that you basically play hide and seek with your doll. Supposedly you can cause your doll of choice to come alive and hunt you down. It’s kinda creepy.
I had a hard debate as to leave this video for Friday so I can order myself a pizza, so I decided to watch it now and watch it again on Friday lmao nice video John

8:02 Oh nevermind
Last couple of days I actually watched several Let's Plays of Sentient and I'm actually curious about its future development. It's well done indeed (weird, mysterious, less is more, etc). Enjoyed watching you playing it! :)
I just found your channel and the random horror games series and it's the best concept I've seen in years. Thanks a lot.
It's my birthday today and I'm spending it in the nicest way :) thanks john for always giving us funny videos
I agree, but at the same time I wouldn't be suprised if the developer of the game just said, "Fuck it, who cares if this doesn't make sense?"
Maybe the point was that the hallucinations weren't at all caused by the medicine
Another fun video John love your content!!
Did anyone else think the chimp was just gonna come in & eat you or something in that last game? (I feel like they kinda hint at it with lines like ‘he is always hungry’ and ‘you will become a cookie’. Idk man chimp violence scares me)
''Why is he wearing a jacket?'' John have U never seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre OMg
Your profile picture is cursed
22:32 John's character dies and falls flat on his back onto the wall then sticks to it like gravity flipped 90°.
If my therapist sounded like the one in the 2nd game, I would be finding a new one.
Last game play was kak funny 😂😂 especially when you literally closed your eyes instead of in the game ... love love love your videos ✌🏻
man that racquetball story was great that's the riveting dialogue i come for
Hey man glad to see u still doing 3 horror games
„Please sit comfortably and prepare to run!“
I can’t do _both_ !
The guys running animation in Leatherface was the same one that was in Fiona.
FIONAAAAAAA
*intense music intensifies*
Second game is based off of a Japanese myth that you basically play hide and seek with your doll. Supposedly you can cause your doll of choice to come alive and hunt you down. It’s kinda creepy.
Sentient rocked. Really, really promising, I loved it!
I had a hard debate as to leave this video for Friday so I can order myself a pizza, so I decided to watch it now and watch it again on Friday lmao nice video John
