Knowing this is an LDP video, the techniques are probably:
    1. Think for yourself

    5. Think for yourself

In the year since I discovered lucid dreaming, the most successful "technique" has been "Do Nothing". Simply paying attention to my dreams and understanding that lucidity exists allows me to exploit those brief moments of awareness that from time to time occur naturally within a dream. My theory anyway.
Perhaps I should call it the DNILD technique. No, no!

For me the best techniques are:
    1. Keeping a Dream Journal
    2. Careful Reality Testing
    3. Creating physical ways to connect with the oneirosphere (through artistic expression like origami, poetry, drawing something from a previous dream etc) Essentially reminding oneself, through a fun activity, that both the physical and dream world occur in the mind. (For me, this increases my motivation and helps me connect to my oneirosphere)
    4. Exploring new techniques and methods
    5. Keeping things simple and finding time to rest in the lucid dreaming journey.
This is my personal list of best techniques for L.D.

It is nice to "meet" fellow enthusiasts. Almost everyone from my regular life that I talk to even a bit about this are supremely uninterested and/or get a blank look on their faces. My daughters and husband will listen for a bit and be interested for a while (because I am) but have no desire to try it themselves. I don't get it. Lucid dreaming seems so fascinating to me! I have had two, that I remember. Dream recall is a problem for me, lately.

Last comment to boost this video being the premiere! While the unicorn hasn't dream seeded, this premiere has as I just woke up from a dream (multiple, but I kept waking up for a second before falling asleep again) where I was trying to make it on time but my plans were being thwarted. Before I woke up the first time, I was late because I had to help someone move out of this camping cabin and then go to the store with my father. When I checked my phone, I had missed it by an hour. Before the second wake-up, my grandmother had me doing random tasks and was doubting I could do something simple (folding up something and then putting it away). Before the final wake-up, I actually was 30 minutes early but everyone was talking about shows I had never seen and asking opinions on them (it ranged from Avatar the Last Airbender to Wheel of Fortune). Oh, and Daniel was talking about reality shifting and comparing the group from ATLA to people who think shifting is twaddle. I was not asleep long enough to see the other comparison.

I'm guessing three of the techniques are along the lines of: engage critical thinking, prospective memory, and dream journal/pay close attention to your dreams. Actually, another one is probably experiment and record results. I just thought of a fifth possibility too, so I guess I'll go for it: maintain good balance and do this in a healthy fashion.

Little update to my Lucid-Dream Progress: (10.05.2022)
My newest experience happened totally unexpected. Theresa werde two unusual dreams in a row.
I am ill right now, and so i didnt really thought about lucid dreaming.
I unawarely built myself a good platform for a lucid dream when i woke up at 3:45 AM, and Made my way to the toilet. After i was done, i watched one RUclips-Video, ate an apple and drank some water.
Then I began to watch another Video, but i got very tired and so I went to sleep again.
The First dream was a false awakening. I got up, It seemed like its daytime already and so I walked past my mother and her boyfriend, Who looked way smaller then me, like 2 heads, but normally he is about 2 heads taller then me. I didnt thought anything of it yet.
I am not sure, but I think then I had another false awakening, because it feels like i walked the way outside twice. So after I walked out of our basement again, I didnt pass them again. Its also possible that I "woke up" in front of our basement.
I wore my short swimming-trousers, but I cant remember what else I was wearing. Then I walked left, on the main-villageroad. Then I came across a neighbor. She looked like her hands were longer and wabblier then normal hands. We talked about something and I think - there its getting really confusing - no that happened later i think.
Next up I was in a
So - next up I was in a School for kids- dont know the english word for it right now.
So i was in the buiding, but there is all a little unclear. The important thing to know, is that i got Inside one of those buidings there, but I dont know in it was the first buiding that i was inside in this place.
A women brought me inside though the Main door. On the right there was some kind of cafeteria, but we passed it, walked left and there She opened a door with a, behind a lightswitch hidden codepanel. She just made a cercular movement in front of it and then the door opened.
On the right side there was a classroom and so I entered and sat down in the the last row, on the left seat. Next to me sat a fiel wich seemed a little arrogant. She wanted to play cards with me anyway.
I had some CDs with me, with those i struggled with setting them from the Table onto the ground without breaking them.
I couldnt get it done and so I still struggled with it when our teacher came in.
So I left the CDs where they were and turned my seat around, because his Pult was behind us for some reason.
I instantly recogniced him as my old and favorite teacher, which i havent seen in almost 3 years.
I dont exactly know if that was the indicator for me to "Kind of realising" that im dreaming.
So I Stood up and turned around to the class. I told the Girl that I sat next to, that I am dreaming right now. She wont believe me and so I asked all the Kids if they could please pinch there nose and try to breath trough it. I dont know if it worked

I dont know why, but I cant edit the Text after I commented it on accident. I will just keep writing.
...I dont know if it worked with anyone, but before they could tell me i already turned around to the teacher and asked him to Do the same. He tired it and Said it didnt work and so I told him, that thats because it is my dream. Then I told him, he should try to push two Fingers trough his palm. After it First didnt work i kept watching and i think i was so convinced it would work, that it finally worked.
He acted really astouned and confused, while his Fingers went trough his palm. There was also a pinkish line around his palm and fingers.
Then I tried to make some conclusions out of that and even Said something like :" And so nothing here is real"
But I still couldnt get to the point, where I realised what it means to be concious in a dream, so I Said something like:" And so know i want to try it myself", and so I pinched my nose and... began to wake up...
I saw the minecraft loadingscreen, right before you get into a new World and i could already her the birds [whatever the thing is called birds do] and slowly woke up.. I thought.
So I thought ive woken up and had my headphones on, with Music blasting. I Wonderd how i Fell asleep like that, which right now Kind of reminds me of the beginning of the mobile "Matrix".
Then I must have looked up a RUclips-Video, or more likely, It got recommended. It was a short quizquestion and i cant even remember it. Then the Video ended and the afterwards eecommended videos had the answers at there titles. You could also See how many People voted for which answer. At First i clicked on the one Who got clicked most, because i had no idea. But then I thought it might be something else and its a trap. So I went back, looked over the answers and Took :"^^". Yep, for real. But since i was the only one clicking that one I felt like a special snowflake.
I think then I woke up.

I just stumbled across a game called "Lucid Dream Adventure". It's by an indie game developer and has won some awards. The description says: "The story is filled with dark intrigue and symbolism of dream interpretation. This thriller will lead you through a vivid universe of the dream." I am intrigued. Have any of you (Daniel and Club Oneironaut) heard of this or played it?

Leaving another comment to boost! I want to say that this video is a joke but, if we're really trying to boost it, it must be informative more than just some joking about. I don't think it'll say some "techniques" but, perhaps just some things like reality checking and dream journaling? That's my best guess as of right now (I just woke up around 10 minutes ago, so, still sleepy brained).
Also, side note. I very well could of had a lucid dream last night, but my first three reality checks indicated I was awake. I went into a public bathroom and saw someone with a "ask me if I'm dreaming shirt" on so, I asked them and they asked me back. It's a shame that none of mine indicated I was dreaming because, in the dream, I started with nose pinch and most of more coherent lucids start from a nose pinch. Oh well. I think there was also a lucid dream convention happening as well?

I'm throwing in a question here, that I'm passionate about for a long time now.
Sometimes at night - especially when I did visualisation techniques before - I wake up and my whole body vibrates. I mean, literally vibrates, like a mobile phone. Maybe it can be described as lying on or in a washing machine. I know that's a great chance for a lucid dream. But my question here is:
Is this vibration also "only" a hallucination, like voices you hear or things you see while transferring from waking state to dream and vice versa? It feels very intense! Or is it a real physical thing caused by sleep atonia, neurotransmitter, hormones or whatever? Because when it ends I can still feel it a bit of it afterwards. Like a tingle all over my body.
    Thank you very much!

    • @LucidDreamPortal
      @LucidDreamPortal  2 года назад +1

Hi Theodor, firstly thank you for the kind support - it's lovely of you!
As for the vibrations - it's most likely this is a form of hallucination, as bodily vibrations and transformations are very common in these in-between states. However, not wanting to just assume, it might be worth recording yourself sleeping to answer this question once and for all. I think you'll likely find that it is purely a result of the mind, and if so, this will give you more confidence in transitioning into the dream - because often simply knowing how convincing these hallucinations are (to the point where one cannot be certain!), really drives-home just how powerful the mind is.

    • @theodorandrews3589
      @theodorandrews3589 2 года назад +1

@@LucidDreamPortal Thank you very much for your reply! Recording myself is a great idea! Yes, I also believe it's a form of hallucination. But it always feels so absolutely real. What a surprise! 👽💙

Because I'm a natural insomniac I rarely try nighttime techniques, I find that even the less involved ones keep me awake. After about 2.5 years of dream journaling, RC's and trying to live lucid I get lucid on average almost twice a week, but almost always near the end of rem.
