6:27 I wish I knew this before attempting WILD several times and being disappointed that I couldn't go to sleep (lucid or otherwise). I was way too alert and focused on not moving an inch, not swallowing, not moving my eyes at all (even though I have a condition that makes that really hard) and I just ended up frustrated because I couldn't see any imagery. Hi Daniel, I´d like to ask a question about the induction of LDs. 99% of my LDs are of the DILD type, but almost never is there involved any kind of state/reality check. Awareness seems to just pop out of nowhere and there is simply the immediate knowing "this is a dream" - I know this without any reality checks whatsoever. I do, however, perform reality checks in waking life. Is this common among lucid dreamers and can you think of any way of deepening this tendency of my mind to simply "wake up" within the dreams? Thank you!
This is very common. The danger is in thinking that the "reality tests aren't working", which is a REALLY common error in judgment. Performing reality tests during the day is the cause of your seemingly spontaneous lucid dreams. The goal of reality testing isn't primarily to trigger them in dreams (although this is a part of the goal), but to create regular moments of questioning reality. This mindset can transfer into a dream, as it has done for you, but for many once the questioning mindset kicks in, it's already apparent that you're dreaming. Think of reality test practice as "moments of clarity", and then it all makes more sense. You're practicing moments of clarity, and as a result you're getting moments of clarity in your dreams also.
@@DanielLoveOrg Yeah, that makes perfect sense, thank you! I guess the whole approach should be framed as "practice being lucid", not as "practice to get lucid".
Thank you for this! I really enjoy your videos. My favorite part here is when you explain that all you can't force mother nature. Going to sleep is not something you can force. Thank you!
@@DanielLoveOrg i,forgot this... I sometimes wake up naturally. and I do the wild. but I can't keep focus well because I get distracted by my thoughts for few seconds. do I have to start over because I'm distracted?
Remember, you're not "doing WILD" you're "attempting to have a WILD". Distraction is natural, just gently return to your focus. Remember, it is a calm apathetic focus. Not effortful. Relaxed and patient.
this is the only time i can become lucid. i know when this happens and i know im going to have sleep paralysis from the buzzing/vibration feeling. but its completely random for me when it happens and i almost always panic myself awake

Bro ive done lucid dreaming 4 times! but i could'nt do it from like 4 months, i dont know why. I think i got less excited about lucid dreaming cause its been done before, im trying to achieve it again, i will be glad if you gave some instructions
If you find that helps with your focus, yes. But I wouldn't recommend a coin or anything else that could be a potential choking hazard. Pick something like a tennis ball or larger.
Interesting video. As you were talking about WILD as an outcome, I was reminded of the SSILD technique. It sounds like that could also be a form of WILD. Correct?
Take a look at the DreamWalker technique here on the channel, that's probably the most fleshed out technique for inducing a WILD. Also the IMP technique is a personal favourite. Also here on the channel :)
I wanted to experience a lucid dream, and i just spelled "i will have a lucid dream" before i slept and i ended in a sleep paralysis, i didnt know it was a Mild type, do you guys know how to handle this sleep paralysis and just go straight to lucid dream ?
Do I have to maintain my awareness the whole time until I am in the dream? Because if I focus on my breathing this happens. After focusing I fall unconsciously asleep and find my self in a lucid dream.
Hello and thanks for contributing to spreading this very precious knowledge, would you agree that a lucid dream is a lucid dream regardless of how it was initiated so wild, dild and mild are not types of lucid dreams but lucid dreams initiated differently?
Yes and no, or not entirely. Yes a lucid dream is a lucid dream regardless of the technique used and at which point in sleep it started, but there are two categories of lucid dream type which are worth noting: WILD and DILD (dream initiated or wake initiated). MILD wouldn't fit into this as it is a technique that is targeted towards primarily inducing DILDs. However there are significant qualitative differences between these two categories (WILD or DILD), and they require different strategies and can lead to predictive subjective differences. There are a near endless number of techniques for inducing either a WILD or DILD. But neither WILD not DILD are techniques themselves, they are outcomes. So it's much a case of being aware of the differences but not obsessing. The trick with this subject, in my opinion, is to avoid oversimplification or mistaking the map for the territory. Nature and the mind are complex messy places.
It's be impossible to give exact timing. But you want to attempt maintained awareness dreams after at least 4 hours sleep, and ideally somewhere between 30-60 minutes of wakefulness
Thanks for the video Daniel! I’ve been struggling to use WILD techniques because of difficulty focusing, I’ve tried pretty much every technique of focusing that I could find in your videos and online, but every time my mind wanders and I fall asleep. I’ve been trying to have a lucid dream for almost 2 months and still no luck. Any advice?
It is a pretty tricky state to achieve, as it requires the conditions to be just right. Personally I have the most success with the IMP technique. I'd also strongly recommend daily meditation to help build your ability to maintain extended periods of gentle focus.
@@DanielLoveOrg hi Daniel! please recommend me some meditations for maintaining focus, and is there any technique you would like to suggest who is new to this ?

As I'm not a medical professional nor do I know your issues, I'd recommend discussing this with your doctor, who is familiar with your conditions and can advise accordingly, ensuring your safety.
I need someone to help me Why is it that for me i get vague almost lucid dream it never gets more clear. Its just weak non vivid and in my imagination its not a dream. Its like that for 3-4 hours and it never gets more vivid until i have to wake up and go about my day. Its like the lucid dream its loading up then it gets stuck at 85% and i dont progress into it. its very frustrating. I feel my body getting numb but it never progresses to full body paralysis just numbness in every part of my body except for my head and diaphram
I have a question, i started this at 00:00 and it was actually working at this time instead of morning, i got too excited about the hallucination stuff tough so i lost it any hints on how to not be super excited?
I Wanna ask you a question about the wild technique I found in the book I have are wilds and the hypnogogic imagery technique in the book page 98. are they the same or a different technique lucid dream portal.
if i think of it as the "trying tightrope", would that be an accurate analogy? i.e. one side of the tightrope is trying too hard, the other side is relaxing too much
@@DanielLoveOrg my last couple attempts i think i relaxed too much, so next time i'll have to "try" harder. also at the end of the vid.. literally any claim ive made with the "community " has led to an argument about semantics. talking with only you via these comments is infinitely more valuable than talking to 1000 confused people
@@ryzikx Just pride yourself on accuracy. There is absolutely no shame in using precise and correct language. If people out there want to revel in ignorance, they're the ones who have to go through life looking foolish. :)
Remember, all the effort in the world won't work if the tools your using are faulty. What sources have you been learning lucid dreaming from? As there is an awful lot of misinformation out there. Don't blame yourself, it's highly probable you've been misled with nonsensical advice. I recommend taking a look around the channel, as I pride myself in making sure that all the advice I share is evidence based and effective. Or if you really want to focus, there is a 19 day course on the channel for members, which most people have found very effective. The first 3 lessons are available to everyone
I would like to ask, would it be possible to write dreams on my phone rather then pen and paper? And if not, is it possible but very hard to get lucid without writing dreams?
You can, but it makes your dream journal a lot less effective. And yes, you can get lucid without writing your dreams, but it's like trying to learn Karate with your hands tied behind your back and blindfolded.
One thing about wild is for me it seems not to matter too much at least for me or it’s either under certain circumstances because one time in the middle of the day I got home and I’m not kidding almost as soon as I got in my bed I went into lucid dream
When I have sleep paralysis, i am having tinnitus. And it is getting louder every second. I'm waiting for it to go into the dream phase but it's not working. Sometimes unusual things happen (like my body is moving, or spinning in bed) should I wait longer to get into dream phase? (REM)
i will try to get a lucid dream through wakefulness. But the part that scares me is the transition from waking to dream. Will it be weird, or will it just be all of a sudden?
It could be either, it varies with each attempt - depending on variables outside of our control. Be prepared for either. The transition is very rarely scary - if anything it's exciting.
So on your last video you mentioned changing the position of your bed. How often should I change the position and could this affect my rem cycles? If it does effect rem cycles how can I keep a balance even when switching the position?
You can't do it too often, else your mind will just adapt. Once a week. If you live in a larger house, you can try switching up different sleeping spaces, such as the sofa.
Quick question. So I have adhd and whenever I’m on my prescribed medication I notice my awareness and concentration/ focus significantly increase. Im able to take the medication when it’s necessary for focusing on work. Do you think that if I were during a lucidity attempt before beginning a method to anchor my awareness. Or going for a dild that the medication would increase chances of becoming aware of the factor I’m in a dream based off the medications benefits during waking life?
do u meditate? it can really help. i know it’s not ur question but i tough it might be useful for you i’m not a expert but it helped me with focus! just to be CLEAR i don’t have adhd and idk what it’s like so i could be wrong

Thank you for this! I really enjoy your videos. My favorite part here is when you explain that all you can't force mother nature. Going to sleep is not something you can force. Thank you!
Bedankt
Thank you so much Jim, your support is so very much appreciated! Stay lucid!
@@DanielLoveOrg ah okay check. Thank you
this is the only time i can become lucid. i know when this happens and i know im going to have sleep paralysis from the buzzing/vibration feeling. but its completely random for me when it happens and i almost always panic myself awake
The closest of getting a wild dream is dream of it and become lucid in a dream .
Not the worst outcome in the world though! :)
You gotta make a q&a video, I have several questions for you!
Hey Melanie, I do channel member Q&A most Sunday's, but you're absolutely welcome to ask questions in the comments too. I always try to answer as many as possible
This was very informative & enjoyable.
Might I say, I would be very curious to watch one of your videos where you keep the cool transitions between different parts of the video and leave out the hand signals before the transition 😁
Looks like YOUR techniques of sharing your expertise, of delivering it to the audience -- are pretty much hard to surpass.
Bro ive done lucid dreaming 4 times! but i could'nt do it from like 4 months, i dont know why. I think i got less excited about lucid dreaming cause its been done before, im trying to achieve it again, i will be glad if you gave some instructions
Can I hold something like a coin, and focus on that?
If you find that helps with your focus, yes. But I wouldn't recommend a coin or anything else that could be a potential choking hazard. Pick something like a tennis ball or larger.
Ok, thank you!
Interesting video. As you were talking about WILD as an outcome, I was reminded of the SSILD technique. It sounds like that could also be a form of WILD. Correct?
Can u do a video on the best or most common things to focus on for WILD
Take a look at the DreamWalker technique here on the channel, that's probably the most fleshed out technique for inducing a WILD. Also the IMP technique is a personal favourite. Also here on the channel :)
I wanted to experience a lucid dream, and i just spelled "i will have a lucid dream" before i slept and i ended in a sleep paralysis, i didnt know it was a Mild type, do you guys know how to handle this sleep paralysis and just go straight to lucid dream ?
I dont think wild is for me 😢
If I'm trying to fall asleep, like in a morning nap, what technique do I use to have a lucid dream instead of just a normal dream?
Gotta try wild now my lucid dreams always happens when i do RCs on dreams
I’ve had 2 failed LDs so far I just wake up when I achieve lucidity it’s so annoying
i wish i knew i could actually move when doing the technique because i was trying so hard to not move and then i would get mad when i did 😭
Do I have to maintain my awareness the whole time until I am in the dream? Because if I focus on my breathing this happens. After focusing I fall unconsciously asleep and find my self in a lucid dream.
Yes, the idea is to maintain focus. Distractions will happen, but you bring yourself back to focus if this happens.
IM THE 1000TH LIKE!!!!
Amazing, thank you!!!
@@DanielLoveOrg thanks, this video really helped clear confusion, i just ahd my first lucid dream and dont know what technique to use!
Would you put a minimum time you’d need to be awake to attempt a maintained awareness LD?
@@DanielLoveOrg hi Daniel! please recommend me some meditations for maintaining focus, and is there any technique you would like to suggest who is new to this ?
hey! i know it’s not related to the video but i was meditating trying to reality shift and i thought about making a earthquake and a few minutes later it happened.did i shifted awake or something? i’m very curious to know what happened. ty
i have dreamed about getting lucid in a dream
is that even a thing? and does it mean anything
I tried the WILD and i saw my dream come closer and closer when my eyes where closed. And i got scared so i moved...
how do i PREVENT this from happening when i wake up in the middle of the night tho?
Thx
I focus on the energy around my body and imagine my soul or astral body rising out of my physical body. It’s worked a few times for me. I just can’t be consistent
can i do it before going to sleep??
Can i still practice lucid dreaming.. i am struggling with adhd and other health issues ..is it ok to practice lucid dreaming.
As I'm not a medical professional nor do I know your issues, I'd recommend discussing this with your doctor, who is familiar with your conditions and can advise accordingly, ensuring your safety.
Should i focus on the hallucinations when entering hypnagogia state? What will happen if i focused?
Im kinda late but, will it work if i go to bed at around 23:00-00:00, wake up at 4:30 and go to sleep(WILD) at 5:30?
I've been doing the wild technique without knowing
Just to reiterate what's said in the video, WILD itself isn't a technique.
I Wanna ask you a question about the wild technique I found in the book I have are wilds and the hypnogogic imagery technique in the book page 98. are they the same or a different technique lucid dream portal.
if i think of it as the "trying tightrope", would that be an accurate analogy? i.e. one side of the tightrope is trying too hard, the other side is relaxing too much
Absolutely spot on.
I jave tried for over 4 months and i can't get a single 1 lucid dream
Remember, all the effort in the world won't work if the tools your using are faulty. What sources have you been learning lucid dreaming from? As there is an awful lot of misinformation out there. Don't blame yourself, it's highly probable you've been misled with nonsensical advice.
I recommend taking a look around the channel, as I pride myself in making sure that all the advice I share is evidence based and effective.
Or if you really want to focus, there is a 19 day course on the channel for members, which most people have found very effective. The first 3 lessons are available to everyone
Who could argue with that?
Brace yourself, there is a lot of ignorance combined with misplaced self-confidence out there!
But the thing is it happend so fast that I didn’t get excited and ruin it because it was almost instant. I didn’t even have time to mess it up
Isn’t it hard for begginers?
Yes but this is simplified
And morning nap is like what time? Like any early morning like 5am to like 7am or like different time?
4-6 hours after you fall asleep
@@aaaaaaa4733 So he meant normal WBTB?
@@Zetpet12LetsPlayeCZ-yo6go Yeah
@@Zetpet12LetsPlayeCZ-yo6goWBTB is a WILD technique btw
@@DanielLoveOrg thanks for your feedback!
@@DanielLoveOrg would it strongly affect my REM cycles?
@@dogtunes938 It's unlikely to influence REM, just your mental alertness during REM
Or going for a dild that the medication would increase chances of becoming aware of the factor I’m in a dream based off the medications benefits during waking life?
do u meditate? it can really help. i know it’s not ur question but i tough it might be useful for you
i’m not a expert but it helped me with focus! just to be CLEAR i don’t have adhd and idk what it’s like so i could be wrong
