    Dibs on the band name: Melodius Tinkle. Totally agree, save a month's worth of coffee/beer and get a cymbal that creates inspired sound!

      Melodious Tinkle: the band that plays only Thelonious Monk tunes, but they all REAAAALLY have to pee

    Honestly surprised the Amazon one is made of bronze at all, I expected brass. They weren't wrong about the melodious tinkle, I kind of love the bell sound on it.
    Obviously it's not as nice as the Zildjy but it's not the worst thing I've heard try to pass for a cymbal.

      According to the amazon description its made of copper... not sure how accurate that is though... and it has a place in some musical settings probably!

    this old A in particular has a nice, robust tone to it. fits well with your setup and playing! i play an agop 22” special edition and 24” agop signature and just marvelous instruments for jazz 😎👍

      Ooo I bet the 24" agop signature is an awesome cymbal! I have the 20" version and love it

      @@thebetterdrummer I love my 24” man it’s incredibly dark and the wash is magical :)

    That old A sounds great! What is the weight? Can you describe the curvature?

    • @thebetterdrummer
      @thebetterdrummer  Год назад

      The weight is 2124 grams, and has a decent curve, maybe slightly too curved for my personal liking, but sounds great regardless

      @@thebetterdrummer wow! I would have assumed a lower profile. It has a pretty dark wash to it. Sounds killer to me my man!!

    You play with enough finesse to make the cheap one tolerable, imagine what it would sound like when played by the average first time cymbal buyer.

      Ha, thanks man! Well, hopefully the first time cymbal buyer saves their money after watching this video!!

      @@thebetterdrummer 💯 to every parent or student buying their first kit, I always say the same thing. Invest in the cymbals. Drums, you can tune and make most anything sound decent, but a cymbal is a chunk of metal and sounds the way it's going to sound... Excellent video!

    I prefer the 42 dollar cymbal. The zildjian is ancient and has an ancient sound.

    I thought the cheap cymbal sounded pretty decent.
