Oh, and that fish is like an underwater bowerbird, only more practical and more awe-inspiring.
100% perfect commercial for your film. Getting it right now.
I came because i saw the first part... its an excellent documentary, amazing photography, sir dave and the holly "animals"... just great!!!
The second to last one was like amazing, then its like "oh and here's some kangaroos kicking each other in the nuts".
How on earth could you watch this and then give it a thumbs-down ????
+TheComputec Trolls or just misery gutses
zinca13 maybe they could put the whole box set on for you for free... just ring the BBC and see what they say... you never know
+TheComputec I would guess people who childishly equate human moral rules of behavior (which humans have as a result of a) evolution; b) being an intensely social species; c) historically developed rules of behavior in societies) with nature, where there are no rights and morals, because these things were developed by humans. In other words, people ignorant of Darwin's theory of evolution of life.
hello I!!jmhy jmhy I uijij HB
+TheComputec I think it could be that in the first one we don't get to see the bird landing?
Is no one else astounded by the fish? Holy shit that's better art than I could do
Everything is perfect: The image, the sound, the perfect voice of this professional,
at 90 years old still so much to learn thank you julia
I’ve seen Kangaroos do that in real life.
So we were supposed to go out woodcutting, but we got distracted because we saw a big Fallow Deer.
We followed that deer, and then we chucked him some food (the buck’s food, obviously, I know what they eat.)
Then we went west and found a mating ground for Roos, and wow 😮, that was cool.
the albatross part was adorable
Making a teaser for your newly released DVD.. HUGE WIN!
4:56 So it was fish making the crop circles the whole time!

2:00 jar jar
5:25 ouch
i need to buy this! But what I always wonder is, how do they record the audio like the baby bird chirping at the beginning or the sound of the kangaroos kicking eachother? Of course the filmmakers are using telephoto lenses but any mic that is able to pick up such tiny sounds would have tons of background noise. Do they add sound effects?
They carefully place highly sensitive mica all over the shot and based on experience they get their best results that way. They also employ parabolic mics that you can point at the sound source from a distance. The mics they use are super sensitive but only pick up sound in a small radius... There will be some digital cleaning of the sound but historically no cheating.... Except for that one time :-)
Oh, so basically super thin, super sensitive shotgun mics? TheComputec Thanks
+Alex Green They probably use audio files and put it over it when it's done recording.
***** In reality they use very delicate directional microphones, parabolic microphones and place surface mics all over the area they are filming in. Back in the studio they can run filters that remove some background noise to highlight the sound they want to emphasise, but there are no random audio files dropped onto the scene... It is the BBC they don't fake it... they just make it
