I had a cat and a baby nephew and the cat would allow the nephew to do unbelievable things to it. The kid was tearing him apart and he wouldn't even get upset. He was the only one in the family who could do it to the cat.

Apparently the kitten is not allowed to do stairs yet. The dog in the car wash made me think of Temple Grandin & her hugging machine. Also, I've watched plenty of racoon videos, but I had no idea they purred!
My husband is a police officer and one night a woman called saying there was a baby raccoon trapped under her porch. Animal control was closed so my husband and partner went to see what they could do. They rescued him and it was probably about 4 weeks old. He held the little one and was almost reduced to tears just overwhelmed over the sweet adorable cooing of the tiny baby! They kept the baby warm and dry and bottle fed him goats milk till the morning when rescue came to get him. To this day he says it was the sweetest little critter he’d ever seen ❤

Don’t be fooled though, as adorable as they are, like most other wild creatures, they make horrible pets. Horrendously destructive and as they grow into adulthood they can become very mean. Anyone who finds a baby should, for sure, do exactly what you and your friends did and turn him over to a rescue where he can be raised and released back to the wild.

I think what OP means is do not deliberately frighten your pets for fun. Don't fool them into believing they'll get something and then not deliver, and don't cheat your animals when they do something on command that they expect reward for. Games are just that, games. I hide my dog's ball behind my back and pretend to throw it all the time. The difference is he knows it's a game and even if I don't throw it this time I'll throw it eventually. Or even if he can't find where the ball went eventually ill reveal it. Even praise can be a reward. So it's not like you have to reward every trick with a treat either. Now if I were to tease my dog, or any of my pets with food to get a reaction, and then put it back or eat it myself that would be cruel.
