@@fatride ok l will. Also l have the Sram Rival 1X on a nice steel gravel bike.. Drop bars always Shimano and road days rode Campagnolo, both smooth.. Sram Rival mechanical, no complaints, works fine
I ride now with Farley 9.6 2022 aswell, so nothing much to complain there. Tuned up the rotors and pads, chain. Saddle aswell. All other is pretty much by the manual. But my previous fattie had Shimano brakes, Deore derailleur, Sram cassette and KMC chain. To be fair- that combo worked damn well. Have heard it many times, that even pro riders like to mix the good Sram cassettes with smooth Shimano shifting. They really really made it pure fun to ride whatever the weather was🤘👍. Right now I stay loyal to all Sram system, but in spring, when anyways the bigger maint comes in, I really do consider some changes, depending if the products are available or how good is the price... But yeah, they both do have their strong sides over each other🤔
A) Thank you the comment! B) Farley 9.6 brother :) C) I’m in line with you - I’m going to try a Frankenstein mix. Please keep me updated on your effort on. If you take photos I’ll share in one of my videos Thank you again RIDE FAT
I’ll give a slight edge to Shimano XT for the reasons you mentioned & I feel it rarely needs tuning, love the trigger shifting, my 2021 Top Fuel 9.8 has it & it works flawlessly. My Stache 9 & Farley 9.6 are Sram & for the most part it’s fine & shifts well, my only complaint is that it occasionally needs some fine tuning. When I ordered my Fuel I had my choice of drivetrains & went with XT & love it, stay safe!
I'm with you. I'm 59 and have been riding Shimano for a big part of that... The under over shifting is muscle memory at this point.... I have been very impressed with the SRAM drivetrain though. Plus with recovering from tearing my thumb ligament from a accident the Shimano requires less thumb action. RIDE FAT and have a great day
I never knew that! Thank you! I'm going to drag out the Felt with Shimano and give it a try. RIDEFAT and have a nice day. Thank you for stopping by the FATRIDE channel.
Had 2 Sram 1X drivetrains, NX and GX and they work well.. Cannot wait for new bike, Surly Icecream Truck with Shimano XLH 1X drive. excited to try
Getting a new bike is always exciting :)
Let me know what you think of the Shimano drive train.
RIDEFAT and have a nice weekend

Wow, you have great perspective. I cant wait to hear your thoughts
Shimano XT on my full suspension & fat bike with no complaints. I am not a fan of Sram Components at all!
Thanks for sharing.
XTR/XT was my favorite when I MTB.
