Thank you Angela, I am going to try this with chicken. I love capers. I live in a Mediterranean country, so capers, lemons and olive oil are always in my kitchen

Hi Esther! Like you, I always have those important ingredients in my pantry. My Mom was a European-trained chef and I grew up with these healthy ingredients.
If it is not too personal, which country are you in?
      Have a wonderful weekend!

    Can I use avacado oil?

Nope. Anchovies DO affect the taste. I'm a vegetarian and I can taste it when flesh is in a recipe...

Hi Globe Trotter! I perfectly understand that as a vegetarian, you would become very sensitized to certain flavors, especially from, as you say, flesh. That is why I provide capers as an alternative in the written recipe. From the Food Network, here is a description of capers:
Capers come from a prickly bush called capparis spinosa that grows wild across the Mediterranean and parts of Asia. The capers we see in the grocery store are the un-ripened green flower buds of the plant.
As non-vegetarians, most people do not notice the anchovy taste distinctly, but as I mention, the caper alternative is also good - you just need a little more, as per the written recipe.
I greatly respect my vegetarian and vegan friends, and do appropriate substitutions when they visit.
I hope that when you make the caper substitution you will enjoy the recipe - Cheers!
