I actually use the 90 still a lot for product stuff. If you do alot of macro filmmaking it’s amazing. Especially for close up details. I would still reccomend that unless you are wanting a lower f stop at 1.4. But you won’t get the macro shots with the 85
Thanks for posting Tyler I’ve Been wanting to buy this lens for a while. I use a A73 and I’m mainly using a 16/35 which is an awesome lens but you definitely need to be fairly close to the subject, however the 16mm is great for it wide angle shots or landscape But I really think I’d get better shots and video footage with that 85mm. Your footage looks so good, are you using the A7iii? Maybe I’ll have to sell one of my other lens and buy that one. Anyway thanks Tyler I appreciate the video and information.
The 85 1.4 is great. It’s such a sharp lens. I love it cause of the ability to get more details in the shots. I love the 16-35 as well for wide landscape. I use a a7siii but I used used a a7iii. I definitely reccomend the lens, specially on a a7iii it would be great.
This sigma 85mm is the best in the 85mm line, sharper than the GM. I have the VILTROX 85mm F1.8 Mark II and there is a hack u can turn it into a 1.6. But for sharpness I would love to get this for mainly video work and I can't find reviews talking about video performance. 85mm is my favorite focal length and u will never regret it... I just got the sony 135mm gm 1.8.. I think I have an addiction for gear.
Thanks Tylor. Go the lens for the same reasons as you.
Thanks!
Great video!! Amazing Shots!!!
THank you Bobby!
Do you still use your 90mm macro? Or has this 85 replaced it! Trying to decide between which to get for travel
