I definitely liked Taylor Hicks; a very good voice. He later had a show of his own, State Plate, in which he tried different foods, dishes famous to each of the 50 states. He loves good food and travel(even owns his own BBQ joint), so it was a joy to watch.
Don't think he able to put it on his CD because AI already had it and another reason could have been Elvis daughter or his ex wife would not give him the rights to use it on his own CD

Should hear me sing it. Mostly it's the accent... they have a similar talking voice too.. both amazing.. Taylor is not much of a performer... but deserves waaaaayyyy more then he gets. He is amazing
