Prior to this performance I had never heard of Ray Lamontagne. Once this aired I went out and I fetched all I could find on him. I feel he owes a great gratitude towards Taylor Hicks

ray sings with soul,to this guy they are just lyrics,to the songwriter they are his emotions.

Ray should have thanked Taylor, because millions of people would have never heard this song if he hadn't performed it on Idol.
