Taylor’s a talented guy, and an even better person. He made his own path of success despite not having the “mainstream” radio appeal and he’s been great at it.
I think people just want to SEE him, not just hear him. Great voice, but it's the man you want to see AND hear, so that's why he's still busy in live performances.
The video didn't mention his Broadway show or the great musical play he was in Shenandoah. IMO he has the most diverse talent of anyone who was on Idol. Great performer. He has done tons of shows.
Although this video does not represent a fraction of what he’s done it’s a positive video. I appreciate his dedication to youth based philanthropy. He’s a natural born versatile entertainer. IMHO the best AI winner. The AI winner with the highest number votes based on his personalty and talent. He’s made HIS way without sacrificing his values. Kudos to Taylor.

I love when he did State Plates food episodes... Wish you could have done Washington State a little bit better though... Didn't even touch Eastern Washington and we're known for apples and other produce!! We would love to see you here in Washington state perform at our Western Washington State Fair in Puyallup!!
I respectfully disagree. Mr. Hicks, a warm, charming, handsome young man, has a natural talent that was & is still, seemingly limitless. Not only is he truly entertaining... his very presence & his smile are like a bright, beautiful, positive light. He's genuine, which is why he continues to be quite successful in all of his endeavors... before, during & since he won American Idol. Ms. McPhee, altho extensively trained vocally & quite capable of easily BELTING out a song... she CLEARLY struggled to present any genuine warmth or feeling. Even Simon acknowledged her failure to do so throughout the competition. This is why, in an act of sheer desperation, he chose "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" for her to sing. With this song, he gave her the chance to AT LAST PROVE she COULD be MORE than a hyper-trained voice & a pretty face. He was hopeful THAT song would afford her an opportunity to show she had more to offer than a boisterous, over-the-top, quite robotic performance that always inevitably left the audience... cold. I admit I am unsure as to whether or not Ms. McPhee remains relevant, or if she's still singing/recording/performing today. However, I am reasonably confident IF she is, her "success" is not SOLELY because of her vocal talent, or her OWN drive & ambition. Unlike Taylor Hicks, she surely hasn't done it alone. Credit for her ongoing success, if any, should more than likely be given to her powerful, VERY well-connected, music mogul husband (who is, btw, 34 YEARS HER SENIOR 🤮)... Mr. David Foster.

Taylor was extremely talented. I saw him perform in a smaller jazz venue and he was even better than he appeared on AI.

Chris Daughtry was my favorite from American Idol Season 5, but I always liked Taylor Hicks a lot too.

Catherine McPhee was so much better. She came in second to Taylor Hicks. She has sung everywhere. FABULOUS

Didn't even come close to his talent. Taylor is capable of doing a performance at the drop of a hat with no rehearsal.
