    There's another way to get stuff out of bad water. In free cam mode, move your camera until your camera is inside the object, the upper right box will tell you when your in the item. Then just click x to select it and move your camera out of the water, taking the object with you. I've done this a bunch of times when I get things stuck in dirty water.

    • @MoonlightCowboyGaming
      @MoonlightCowboyGaming  4 месяца назад +3

      Thank you Shameless. I've been able to get it to work sometimes too. But shallow water that's bad is really hard because I can't seem to get low enough to grab the item. It just happened to a friend of mine the other day. We couldn't get the item out no matter what, so we destroyed it and built over it. When I'm building in water I always play it safe, just in case. But I have been able to get things out before if the item was big enough.

      My pleasure! Yeah the bridge actually came out pretty nice. The entire thing is suspended off of tables from underground. Which is attained nice because instead of repeatedly trying to merge it perfectly, I can just adjust the tables underground anytime. Thanks for checking it this video, and for watching TNG's Livestream!!

    • @dazzmead
      @dazzmead 5 месяцев назад +1

      Your very welcome, you have been doing a fantastic job putting these videos together, very informative and clear and well edited. Wanted to ask, using the bridge as an example would you build it under the map and then push it up a bit at a time?

    • @MoonlightCowboyGaming
      @MoonlightCowboyGaming  5 месяцев назад +2

      @@dazzmead Exactly that. What I usually do is count 'clicks'. So if the main level of the bridge is, say, 30 clicks (meaning how many times I picked up and put down on either the pressure plate or the camp device), then the end pieces would be 29, 28, 27, 26 etc.
      That said, your standard click on a camp device is worth three clicks on the pressure plate. Which means that for every time you move it up on the camp device, it takes three clicks on the pressure plate to move it down.
      So on the bridge, I wanted the steps to be shorter. So after getting the main tables into position, I clicked the first step to 30 on the camp device, then pressure plate twice. Next step went to thirty, then pressure plate four times, and so on. That way, I'm not held hostage by the normal height that the camp device floats items.

      @@MoonlightCowboyGaming I hope it's ok to ask a totally not water related building question here, I understand if you dont want to reply. I am currently trying a new pylon build, I know how to start off a build up high with stair posts, then to attach the big sets of stairs, But I hate that ugly drop of these stairs. How do you get your high builds started off so you have lovely flat floors and no dangling stairs?

  • @wintersteale
    @wintersteale 4 месяца назад +1

    These videos have been extremely helpful. I really like building but there are SO many issues while attempting it in 76. You are giving us so many ways to get around those issues.
    Have you thought about doing a video about treehouse builds? Any good tips for that? Most just utilize existing treehouse structures or block most of the tree. I saw one from aussie_kitty_kat that I love the round shape of but it's so close to the ground.

    • @MoonlightCowboyGaming
      @MoonlightCowboyGaming  4 месяца назад +1

      Until I read the end of this comment, I was going to refer you to Aussie's tutorial lol! So I've done a similar treehouse to Aussie, but I did mine differently.
      I built a roof platform to the height that I want the treehouse. I then freeplaced walls in a circle and adjusted until I got it perfect. (You could also BP a round foundation/wall BP without foundations, instead adding catwalks to the top, and a small floor item as the anchor (but not in the middle, since the tree will be in the middle.)
      Regardless of how I get the round wall shell, once I add my walls, I remove the roof platform. Then I add my circle of roofs for floors and for roofs. From there, you just need to decide how you want to get up there. It will probably require some custom stairs, so maybe some benches or stools.

    • @wintersteale
      @wintersteale 4 месяца назад +1

      @@MoonlightCowboyGaming 🤔Some good food for thought here. Thanks for the ideas. One question though. If I remove the roof platform how will I get roofs/floors under there?

    • @MoonlightCowboyGaming
      @MoonlightCowboyGaming  4 месяца назад +1

      @@winterstealeHere is an example. Snap roofs to the top of walls. Attach an angled roof pointing down to the flat roof you attached to the wall, on the outside of the circle. Flatten that roof. Add another angled roof pointing down going back into the circle. That will be one floor piece.
      Then destroy that roof, and repeat the process around all of the walls until you have a complete circle of roofs as floors.

    • @wintersteale
      @wintersteale 4 месяца назад +1

      @@MoonlightCowboyGaming ahhhh, now I have a visual ! So it's a similar process to what you show for the stairs. I never think of stuff like this it seems.

    • @MoonlightCowboyGaming
      @MoonlightCowboyGaming  5 месяцев назад +2

      Okay so here's the trick. When underground, just go into freecam above ground, grab the camp device, then switch out of freecam. Make sure you adjust your setting for freecam, so it doesn't follow you underground.

    Is there a way to build an underground camp and place floors under the water every time I do it says can’t place item in water or something like that

    • @MoonlightCowboyGaming
      @MoonlightCowboyGaming  3 месяца назад +2

      @@tyronecharizard363 That really depends, but usually no. Although you can sometimes clip upper floors into underground water, it's not consistent. If you are hell bent on building underground, my advice would be to find a steep hill to build into. This way you can bring your foundations underground, and they will clip through most water. There is a great spot in the Mire near Harper's Ferry for this. Here's a link to that camp video for context.
