    Just sold my 2021 Hawk. Just wanted a dirt bike to hit the Texas interstate to go to work. I have a HD also. With the Hawk it was hard to keep up with other riders lol. I ended up going to the Honda dealership and bought a 2021 Honda XR650L and sold the Hawk to a good friend at work to ride with his wife on her Honda Navi. The 22 and 23 are white and I wanted the classic ride red bike. The XR has a ton of torque and runs 75 mph @ 1/4 (or a little more)throttle. Got it up to 100 mph and backed off lol. Just wanted to hit triple digits on a dirt bike. With 40 hp and 47 ft lbs of torque it’s a wheelie machine. It weighs 344 lbs wet and that’s the one thing I miss about the Hawk. Looks like the Hawk is coming up but just needed something with a lot more balls. Have fun and ride safe and great vid.

    Cool video man. In South Africa this bike is sold by Big Boy as a TSR 250. It is essentially the exact same bike with different stickers, some slightly better switches, a digital guage, and LED lights all around. Mine also has the older sprockets (17F and 50R), and I am going to change those out to a 16F and a 38R. All in all it looks like a great bike so far, and with it sold by a dealership I have great service both buying and servicing thr bike through them.

Wanted something different as a second bike to my HD, We travel up north quite a bit and do a lot of trail riding on ATVs- so the Hawk will be an interesting alternate e to those. Mine is the '23 EFI DLX version. Was curious how many miles you put on yours before doing your "break-in" oil change? The manual mine that came with is not real clear....

    Funny enough, I've only ridden my Hawk once this season after I got it inspected and registered. It wasn't getting good enough power because of the jetting we did to it last summer and we just haven't got around to messing with it. We've been riding the scooters around the most and we've been wrenching on my friends scooter as it's been very finicky. We finally got a mostly nice sunny day today and went for a scooter ride. After that we put the 30mm Nibbi from my Hawk onto his scooter to help with a fuel issue on it, the 24mm Nibbi that was on it wasn't giving it enough fuel no matter the jetting.
    Either way, it gives me an excuse to buy a flat slide Nibbi for the Hawk and to put knobby tires back on it. Now that I have the scooter I don't really need both as full on road bikes. So instead of modding the Hawk further now I can focus on having fun with the GY6 on my scooter. There's LOADS of good mod parts for the GY6 and they're not too insanely priced unless you choose to go that route.
    So, if you ever decide to play around with a Chinese scooter in the future skip everything else and buy a Vitacci Clash or a Vitacci Force. They're labeled as being 200's but they're actually 170cc machines. Compared to the other Chinese scooters of the same cc class they're the only two that offer factory installed EFI. Of all the times my friend and I went riding mine has had absolutely no fueling issues. It's not super speedy but it cruises at about 55/60mph just fine.
    I'm eventually going to get a nicer variator and clutch bell for mine and possibly change the gears in the gear box to get a little extra cruising speed so it's not always revving so high. Besides that it's been a fun machine. :)

    • @MotoCheez
      @MotoCheez  Год назад

      Good info, thanks

    • @Slane583
      @Slane583 Год назад

      @@MotoCheez No problem. I found out my Vitacci Clash is a clone of a Honda Click after I bought it from my friends' mother.
      The Honda Click is very popular over in the Philippians. The GY6 that is on mine is made by Lifan which is a higher quality version made in Taiwan instead of China. All of the high quality upgrade parts for GY6 based scooters all seem to be made by brands over in Taiwan.
      I don't know much about the Vitacci Force, but because it is labeled as a 200cc scooter just like the Clash and it also has factory installed EFI I think it is also running the same Lifan engine as mine. The only difference is the cover for the clutch housing is different than mine and the wheels on the Force are 12" instead of 14" like mine.
      So just food for thought. It seems that 12" scooter wheels have loads of tires choices because they're similar sized wheels to the Honda Grom, Grom clones and similar bikes. When you get to a 14" wheel like mine the bike is labeled as a "Maxi-Scooter" and tend to have more limited tire choices.

    Got the 2024 hawk x about a month ago. Love it! But already hit a deer😢… well more like the deer hit me. I was moving about 20 mph (slowed because I had just passed a couple deer) and one jumped out of the woods and another one slammed into my right side. Knocked me off the bike and the bike hit the ditch and tumbled. Everything looks fine on the bike except the front forks/ wheel look out of alignment now. Any advice on how to check if they are bent and where to buy a replacement set, or realign them if they aren’t bent? Thanks, awesome vids 👍

    • @MotoCheez
      @MotoCheez  23 дня назад

    I was considering purchasing this bike, but I've come across numerous horror stories about having to constantly rejet the carb if you plan to ride in the mountains. I live at an elevation of 2,500 feet and often ride at much higher elevations. It sounds like a hassle to adjust for different elevations. I'd love to see a video on how you manage this issue when riding through such a broad range of elevations in a single day.

    I can't believe how popular these are getting. They are the Squire's of bikes. Instead of replacing the pickups, tuners, bridge, and electronics, you're doing the equivalent on a bike. I've read that people have invested the same amount in upgraded replacement parts that cost the same as the bike, just like a cheap guitar, but there is a segment of riders and players that love to tinker and personalize. It's almost as if HAWK built a bike that barely passes so that you can customize it.

    I definitely recommend replacing all the important nuts/bolts that're made with super cheap low quality metal with much stronger metal ones. Some of the metal used to make it was incredibly weak like I could snap one of the bolts on it with very little pressure using a wrench. Like opening a pickle jar amount of pressure. And beware of the low quality metal issue leading to stripped threads when you take any bolts out. These problems make it very easy to do some major damage to the bike just by trying to fix it when it breaks which was often for me.

    • @MotoCheez
