    At 56 years old I'm looking for a bike to learn how to ride. Never to old I hope. I am restoring a 69 CB350 and I do not want to be a total beginner on her. If I could find guards for her I might but, I cannot find em. Anaywho, One of the X-Pro 250 bikes feels like the right choice learn on. Thanks for sharing and all the links.

      Thanks for checking out my videos! I think the muffler is good especially after installing the spark arrestor. The only other thing I will do to the exhaust will be to cut the header pipe and remove the CAT, I do believe it really restricts the exhaust flow. 👍

    Mike, we refer to the stock tires on the Templars as "big wheel tires" and if your of a certain age you know exactly what that implies...we're on the fence as to whether a set of gummys would ruin some of the fun and liveliness of these things. Love the gummys on my 300 2 stroke but thats a very different experience.

    • @Mikefestiva
      @Mikefestiva  9 месяцев назад

      Haha 😂 yes I know what you are talking about 👍 I probably will ride the stock tires for a while before replacing them, it’s a hard balance for a dual sport bike, there’s always a trade off for long lasting on the pavement and good traction on the trails. If you come up with a tire combo you like let me know.

    I was wondering which Templar this one is. I see that it's like a D or M model-5 speed...I'm probably going to buy one of the Xpro (Templar X) 6 speed for a budget dual sport commuter. I've been looking at them for about a year but I finally made my decision. I bought a KLX230 new in 2020 but sold it and I previously owned a DRZ400S, I liked them both but they were both expensive bikes compared to the Templar. I can't wait to put mine together. I want to do the big bore 300cc kit straight away with the Nibi Carb.

      In our riding group we have both the X and the base model. They are completely different bikes with the X being significantly larger, it is the same size as a KTM or Husky whereas the base model several inches smaller in every dimension and honestly fills a void in the current dirtbike market where shorter riders are left tiptoeing especially in off camber singletrack.

      All the X pro bikes I have bought all seem to be jetted lean, they all have benefited from a larger main jet. There’s a lot of info of Forums and Facebook groups that could answer what jet size is best for your elevation.

    • @Mikefestiva

      I would recommend checking out my first video I made on the bike, I explain why I decided to get it. I would suggest calling Powersportsmax ( the place I ordered mine from) or any other place that sells them and asking when they maybe back it stock, I don’t work with the company so I would not know when they come back in stock again.

      As long as you don’t add any preload to the rear shock and maybe slide the front forks up in the triple clamps about a 1/2” I think it will work for you. I also had a subscriber mentioned he was too short for the bike and bought a little shorter rear shock and it now fits him great. I think the fella made a video about it. Look up Storm 150 rear shock upgrade and maybe you will find the video.

    Watch the shipping from xpro as they don't use freight insurance and ship signature not required if your purchase arrives damaged they will give you the runaround... I am still fighting with it a month+ later still unresolved...

    • @Mikefestiva
      @Mikefestiva  9 месяцев назад +3

      That’s a bummer, I ordered my bikes from Power sports max and luckily they shipped fine. The company was good about the headlight cage that needed to be replaced for my Storm 150 and the tail lights that went out. They shipped them out pretty quickly.
      What got damaged in shipping on your bike?

    If you think removing and reinstalling the carb bank for an inline 4 is miserable you should try an old V4. The first time I had to clean and rebuild the carbs on my old V65 Magna, I seriously considered just selling the bike about halfway through. 🤣
