  • The new millenium brought hope and musical vibes to the careers of Page, Plant, Jones and Jason Bonham. Ahmet Ertegun's accident changed the course of Post Led Zeppelin history...forever. From the infamous Y2K Scare to the exciting times of the best year for the internet 2007, the three surviving members of Led Zeppelin dazzled audiences with their signature moves and explored new roads for rock and roll excursions. Jason evolved into a more mature drummer and his hard-hitting grooves took him to great stints with well-known bands. #ledzeppelin #johnbonham #johnpauljones #robertplant #jimmypage #o2arena #celebrationday #documentary

@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories hey, I sure will! 😊 And did you also hear about the film documentary? Originally called "becoming Led Zeppelin" it hasn't been released yet but I hear it's going through a fresh edit.... hopefully it will be shown in cinemas soon. I really really enjoyed this episode and have loved every single one you have released. The sheer levels of research and attention to detail are awe inspiring! And you Sir are one hell of a great Guitarist 😊. I speak to Scarlett pretty frequently online..... but watching her recite in person was just stellar; Rocking Underground and Fifth Circle of Hell..... my word, she is absolutely sensational. Take care my Friend! Sending vibes of Peace and unconditional support; here's to a better world. If we can connect via music, and in such a friendly way? That's hope. Take care.

I just wanted to add, it was a really tiny venue, but it was packed! Scarlett hosted the event and there was a number of equally amazing Poets sharing their work. Truly brilliant and profound statements. If you ever get the opportunity to see Scarlett perform in person? Go for it. It's a life changing experience. She's a truly beautiful Soul through and through. I feel truly blessed to have met not just Jimmy Page in 2005, but also Scarlett. I sometimes pinch myself in disbelief! But, great stuff can happen 😊

John Paul Jones is one of the coolest, most down to earth, talented guys in music today. He got pushed aside by the two front men when John was always there, ready and itching to play. John Paul Jones has figured out the secret to a peaceful existence. Patience. It was an epic performance in 2007 and Jones was a stand out. They are still giants and very much of the moment. Tall shadows indeed.

I am very much looking forward to this new series. Your Making Of In Through Ths Out Door and Post Zeppelin series were both outstanding. I am hoping, though, that you will also have 1 about the members of Zeppelin in the ‘90s. Those were exciting times, especially with the Page/Plant albums and tours and Jimmy touring with The Black Crowes, Fate Of Nations, JPJ’s work with REM and Heart and other things that I am sure that you will remind me of and/ or educate me on.

I’ve also really been hoping that and asked. After the doing in through the out door covering the last bit of zeppelin then the 80’s i was excited for the 90’s cause of course a lot happened that decade especially page and plant (which I saw twice live) he responded too me actually and said he was so excited to do this he did it first. But may revisit the 90’s afterwards. I’m looking forward too both to show us that complete history. Hell dude could even do a LZ 1 and continue on, LZ2, 3, 4. I can’t wait. one of my fav channels by far. (Also saw celebration day live, I can die happy)

Thanks once again, JCM. The best! Like the mighty Zep, themselves, you seem to just outdo yourself every step of the way. This left me with the feeling of totally wanting more. The first of a three-parter? ... hey, that works for me! Your video brought back such iconic memories of this, likely the greatest reunion concert, ... no, scratch that, ... THE greatest rock concert in all of history; period! I can't wait for the next two installments. It's hard to believe it's been fifteen long years since the O2 show. Mind-boggling. I do believe it's high time, though, that they did it once again. Just one last reunion show, for the world, ... before it's too late! I'm sure mine is a dream shared by so many-a-Zeppelin-fan out there, but I think it truly is, it's what this world NEEDS right now, at this time, more than anything. Just coming out of the pandemic, the world in such a mess, on just so many levels, ... So come on, Jimmy, Robert, Jonesy, and 'the Kid", you put all your differences and problems aside once before, you can do it again ... "Just one more, for the Bonzo."!

@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories I do feel like I was lucky. However the ticket wasn't easy to obtain, I was unable to get my ticket When they went on sale, a month went by and I started calling ticket brokers but nothing then I went on eBay and there was one person selling tickets for the concert He was charging $7,500 so I emailed him and he called me from London and we spoke for half an hour on the phone So I agree to pay that money and I told him that's a lot of money I don't want my dream shattered, thankfully he was honest. My wife and I flew to London with no ticket in hopes that I don't get burned. But he came through the ticket was for pre-show party the concert and after she'll party It was awesome. My wife and I even met Jimmy Page two days before the concert walking down Piccadilly Street carrying shopping bags, he was with Ross Hofflen The photographer. Needless to say it was a dream come true that I wish everybody who is a zep fan got to experience.

Plus Candy Store Rock with Ahmet in attendance. They always had a special place for him. And rightly so.
And I’ll say this in defense of Robert’s refusal to move forward after the show. He’s always been a current singer. What’s going on musically, he’s there. So playing the Zep material as it was wasn’t in the cards at that point anymore.

Excellent first episode, been eagerly awaiting this all week! I remember not being too plussed about How the West Was Won and Mothership, didn't see much point in buying albums full of songs I already had memorized forwards and backwards at that point in my life. I think the only album I purchased outside of Led Zeppelin's studio albums and SRTS was the BBC Sessions (not counting the Led Zeppelin DVD from 2003), which IMO was one of the best live albums I've ever heard. News of the reunion concert of course got my blood pumping, but due to life circumstances at the time (change of jobs and a divorce), there was no way I would be able to go to England if I had gotten a ticket, so I didn't even bother to try. How I would've loved to be there, though.

I have two friends that somehow got in for nothing. I was at home sulking. Being a fan of Plant & Pearl Jma this was a show I did not want to miss then to ad salt to the wound they play together at the end of the gig and play "Fool In the Rain" for the first time live ever. Also, JPJ should have kept working his solo career, it was looking good, maybe he got fed up too quickly? To see how many instrumental artists made it later on, like Snarky Puppy, the what ifs! 2007 was a bittersweet year for me.
    The Happy:
I had a record store job (my second one and first in several years after leaving my first one in 2003 because I had to relocate out of state) and my boss was a Dead head and him and I clashed over Maiden, Priest and Motorhead and the fact i couldn't get into jam bands but got along otherwise. I was living in South Florida and went to four shows that year Roger Waters (first show of his I saw in nearly 7 years for his Dark Side Tour), Rush (second show of their Snakes and Arrows Tour and my fifth and final Rush concert EVER), Heaven and Hell (aka Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio singing) with Alice Cooper and Queensryche opening and lastly Genesis (on their last tour Phil Collins played drums and last with Chester Thompson and last tour for In the Cage (last played in 1987), Hold On My Heart, Ripples (last played in 1980), Drum Duet and Los Endos (flew to my native Boston to see it)). Plus Pink Floyd celebrated its 40th Anniversary with the aforementioned Waters Tour plus David Gilmour released the Remember That Night film which had Rick Wright in his band on keyboards, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn 40th Anniversary 3-CD box set and the complete studio albums box set Oh By the Way. Zeppelin reuniting was awesome but sadly didn't get to see it and also I ignored Mothership and focused on the expanded The Song Remains the Same release. My beloved Boston Red Sox won their second World Series of baseball in FOUR YEARS.
    The Sad:
Plus sadly my mother passed away at 10:42 EST on March 31 or technically 3:42 AM UK Time April Fools Day so I don't do April Fools Day. Not for my father I would have had a nervous breakdown and helped me through that period as he lost his own mother three years earlier.

I'm so sorry about your mother, my deepest condolences. Your recollection of events is a documentary of its own. I thank you for sharing these level of personal detail as i have a cinematic mind and pictured the events. Music is a universal force and connects us, keeps us sane, hoping for a better world right? You saw the 2007 Genesis Tour.....man...just wow. You saw some incredible shows that year. I still remember 2007 often. The expendad TSRTS a much better purchase than Mothership by miles.

@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories I saw the 2007 Genesis Tour in Boston. Had to fly up to my hometown and my dad went with me as a tag along to ensure I got through everything well as I have Autism Spectrum Disorder and Anxiety. Went to the concert with my Heavy Metal loving friend Dennis and to see Phil play the drums with Chester one last time was amazing. He didn’t throw out his back until a few days after I saw them. He played amazingly and to see them play Firth of Fifth, I Know What I Like, In the Cage with Cinema Show/Duke’s Travels/Afterglow was the highlight. Also Ripples, the Drum Duet/Conversation With Two Stools/Los Endos and encore of The Carpet Crawlers sealed the deal. Good smattering of the 1978-1991 material although nothing from Abacab but still one of the Top Five Concerts I have seen.
My mother was responsible for me getting into Rock and Roll at an early age. She turned me on to The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Journey, Bob Seger, Styx, Joe Walsh, The Doors, Def Leppard, David Bowie (via Let’s Dance), AC/DC, Bryan Adams (when he was a hard rocker), Billy Squier and she was also a fan of Prince and had Purple Rain (which she bought simultaneously with Billy Squier’s Signs of Life album which had the infamous Rock Me Tonite and bought me Born in the U.S.A. by The Boss Bruce Springsteen). I also got into Van Halen, Rush and The Police via my eldest sister Toni (may she rest in peace). Led Zeppelin I got into via Live Aid and watched on MTV with my mom and third older sister Tania and I was instantly hooked. Then after making copies of Zep II and IV, saw The Song Remains the Same twice in a month. Video rental first and then MTV aired in October 1985 and was hooked on the drumming of John Bonham. Then got from November 1985 forward Presence, In Through, Coda, Houses, Physical, Song Remains album, II, III, IV and self titled last. Also the first two Robert Plant solo albums and The Firm’s Mean Business (amazing album) and the original Bad Company’s discography and Fame and Fortune which mortified me as I missed Paul Rodgers’ voice.
Page is to you what Bonham, Peart, Nick Mason, John Panozzo, Keith Moon, Phil Collins, Cozy Powell and Roger Taylor (Queen) were to me as far as drummers went. Page, David Gilmour, Eddie Van Halen, Brian May, Alex Lifeson and Don Felder/Joe Walsh were to me for guitar playing. Dennis DeYoung, Rick Wright, Tony Banks, Keith Emerson, John Paul Jones (whom is also my favorite bass player) were why I then got into keyboards.

Jose, I love your passion for Zep. Thank you again for another brilliant episode. What I think also triggered this Zep reunion was the popularity of RUclips with all the people having access to the ORIGINAL blues songs that were "modified" by Zep. I remember Howard Stern blasting Zep for "When the levee breaks" "Babe I'm gonna leave you" "Taurus" and "Dazed and Confused." I remember hearing that Percy was furious about being questioned about the blatant "borrowing" of certain songs and prompted him to form this reunion to win the side of their fans. Needless to say, it worked. I'm sorry, but I wasn't a fan of this format for the O2 show. It was too commercialized as the corporate hands were in the cookie jar. The editing on this show was horrendous. Too man camera switches made it tiring to watch. Gone was the mystery and humor that "Song remains....." had to offer at a much slower pace. This O2 show was a just cash grab. They sounded good, but I felt like it was a talent show without any feel.

Oh yes Astro i remember those Stern shows, while i understand his reasons being a broadcaster, i don't think the proper context was given. I don't say this as a Zeppelin fan but a musician, you can't attack a band like this without understanding their strengths i mean....that was just for rating. I agree on your sentiments on the editing of the Celebration Day DVD, it was a tough sell for me. It's the modern style of engineers and techies in the industry of wanting to POLISH everything down to sucking the life out of it. I thank you so much for tuning in to this, hope you enjoyed all 3 parts!

I went to the theater and did my airguitar and vocals from my seat and didn't even let no one try to stop me!! I also too started a chant to make them TURNITUP because I couldn't hear shit and after about 5 minutes of yelling at the top of our lungs we got them to crank it up pretty damn loud. Great narrative 👏 👌 👍 you are a hell of a guitarist

@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories Uncle Ted is absolutely right about Jason's drumming. I seen him with Jimmy Page at the LA Forum and he WAS John Bonham for that show and Page was still Page even on the bow. I regret leaving early to beat the LA traffic. But I kinda felt like I was at a led zeppelin concert of course!! Thank-you very much 😊 Robert may not have the brass he once had. But 3 more us shows could change the world and Led Zeppelin Rules...bring along Paul Rodgers and do some Firm covers. Whats to stop us is What is and what should never be..

I love your docs on zeppelin, I'm curious where you got all the sound clips from various concerts. I've been looking on you tube for many years now at Zeppelin, post zeppelin stuff and I feel like you've found stuff I've never heard before which is awesome.

My sources vary and i had my personal library as well from the "Pre-Cloud" "Pre-RUclips" old days. I am thankful now to be able to share my take on the story with much respect and admiration for the band mixed with my own personal experience as a musician who has seen many scenarios and situations for 20+ years. Hope you enjoy Season 3!

30.57 . When you tune down you change the string gage . Tony iomi had to tune down & run thinner strings because of his missing fingertips . In metal the guitar players ran heaver strings Jimmy & Jones may have needed to do the split where you run the same gage on the thicker strings & switch from a 9 to a 10 on the thine ones
