"No Quarter" is the stand out song from this concert. Toward the end when Plant screams "The Dogs of Doom are howling", the goosebumps settle in, and you realize the power that makes Zep! Add to that Jimmy's use of the Wah pedal. Just great stuff. I nice nod to the old days.

The first time I saw the video of this concert I felt it was the best live show of theirs ever. All were absolutely stupendous, and showed so many years later just why they are still the absolute best band ever. As far as Jason’s drumming- otherworldly. Imagine being the only person on earth that can drum exactly like John Bonham. And did he ever. I feel that if it were anyone else drumming that show wouldn’t have been even a quarter of what it was. Thank you Jason.

I love my Led Zeppelin, but I have to say this...I wish they would have done this right after Page/Plant wound down, with Jason. It would have been much better. And I'm glad they didn't do a world tour, as the fans wanted. I too, like you put in a bid to see this show, but it didn't happen. I waited for the DVD to come out so I could use my sound system, and have a few 'smokes' while I watched. Heheheh!!!

Man I remember walking home fro mwork the day I read the announcement of the reunion, with tears in my eyes at the thought of slightest possibility of ever being able to see Zeppelin. I applied for the raffle, and I got literally everyone I knew to do the same too, on the promise that the tickets were mine. Of course I didn't win, my father didn't win, my best friend didn't win..... But, one guy I knew did. As we have come to expect, this was an invaluable contribution to the Led Zeppelin story.
A few thoughts on the show.
First, this was a band ready for the show. Six weeks of rehearsals. A true set of songs. Rare stuff, a full show. As the saying goes. “The three most important things for success: Prepararion. Prepararion. Preparation.”
Second, despite that preparation, this was the first time they played since 1980 where the leader on stage was the drummer. Jason was in charge that night. His tapping on the hi hat for cues and his call outs on time stops and song endings make this flow. Notice the smooth rolls on Ramble On and his mastery of the timing for Kashmir. Glorious.
Third, I would love to see a pro shot of the band on a single camera, straight ahead. The constant cuts in the film bug me, although I love the fan camera stuff interspersed.
Fourth, I don’t get leaving out ITTOD material. Dazed and Confused could go out for, I dunno, Poor Tom or In The Evening. But whatever. I’m being picky.
Finally, I don’t know if the band ever played a better Kashmir. I’m sure somebody can point to some 1975 take that matches it. But I don’t care. It just towers.
On the whole, a set for the ages.

Thanks for this 😎, I was one of the lucky ones to be there that night, indeed For Your Life and Kashmir were the highlights. The floor shook to both monolithic riffs, and to this day Kashmir that night the greatest moment in concert I witnessed.
Having got into the band in 1981 as I discovered rock n roll as a teen ,bad timing eh 😷 and miss seeing them in their heyday, following all and most of their different projects on their respective tours from 1983 to last year I was then blessed by the God's in getting given a chance of a ticket for this after initially I hadn't been lucky in the raffle. I am forever grateful and the story of my own personal journey to that night is for a book one day. I digress though.
I too like yourself was a little bit perplexed they didn't do on song from ITTOD that night, but I wasn't complaining in the circumstances.
I do believe Jimmy, John and Jason rehearsed Carouselambra after this show when Robert declined to tour when it was mooted the other 3 were going to form a band. How sad that didn't happen and the majestic Carouselambra was never done live in full.
I had a tear in my eye when they came onto GTBT.
Anyway wonderful memories and thank you for all your hard work compiling all these vids.

#1 on my song wishlist is definitely “Carouselambra”. Unreal how that song continually slips through the out door. Was being rehearsed for the Fall 1980 North American tour that of course didn’t happen due to Bonham’s death. Then another big missed opportunity when it wasn’t played at this legendary 2007 reunion show. (A swing-n-miss by Page/Plant/Jones that they played not a single track from ITTOD.) Parts of “Carouselambra” were incorporated into the 1995 Plant/Page tour but that’s the closest we’ve ever gotten. That’s why we need you, Jose, to submit your solo acoustic version of this classic track. 😉 Another fantastic episode, my friend.
P.S. Great catch re Devo’s “Uncontrollable Urge” being a faster version of “Rock n Roll”.

I agree that Kashmir and No Quarter were the best ones, but I also really like The Song Remains the Same, as you said it sounds "muddy", but also heavy and energetic, you can see that they are truly enjoying and "feeling" playing it together. And cmnon, the monolith object from Presence used in the visuals during Kashmir looks amazing, I think that they were a big addition to the show (I also loved the visuals during "For your life", it reminds me of the White Stripes). It's not a big deal that the object was used in the cover for another album, the show was a rendition for their whole career, not for their individual albums. The visual guys just needed something "monolithic" to go with the "monolithic" sound of Kashmir, and that object was perfect for that. Anyway, from a fellow Zeppelin fan from Chile, I love your content, thanks for your amazing work, cheers!

I think they orcastrated the set list to coincide with the time they had the stage. By the end Jimmy looked gassed but if they had a 20-25min break he could had went for another hour! So many I would had loved to hear but what really confuses me is a show named Celebration Day but the song of the same name was left out. Tremendous installment...thank you for the effort. Personally, there is no way Dazed and Confused could be dropped from this set....too iconic and historic to omit the song from what I'm sure Plant was thinking would be their last show together. The biggest omissions as far as I'm concerned: 1) Achilles Last Stand; 2) Heartbreaker; 3) an acoustic set. Those would have added another 45 minutes to the set, so I understand why they were omitted at their age....but I would have gladly taken Achilles over For Your Life or Misty Mountain Hop, even though I love those tracks. And I have been commenting on reaction videos for years about the "Object" graphics from Presence that appeared during Kashmir that no one seems to have picked up on....but you did! Congrats, and thank you.

But Achilles for me is the most glaring omission....and as much as I loved For Your Life, I would have gladly traded it for Achilles. Great, great series you have put together...thank you.

I too was thinking what if they tour , where when will I get tickets ? How much? I already was having anxiety well for nothing LOL. Funny how we all don't remember who else was at and performed at this tribute. I was waiting for you to bring it up , Yes Why, Nothing from ITTOD or CODA Page/Plant have played Wearing & Tearing before but a no show. Evn more I was surprised nothing from the 1979 classic not even Hot Dog. It was a head scratch but hey they are one stage again. Your wish list of songs I agree with but Achilles Last Stand would be my pick and Sick Again. I would of thought they woudl of played a song from ever album at least. I do hope in part three that you bring up a very neat little gift Robert Plant gave us in 2007 Since I've Been Loving You. Very briefly, he used his 1970 voice for "Best I could!" Oh, one other thing that was removed from the official release... Trying to solo with de-tuned strings is like trying to throw a long pass with a deflated football.

Your videos have become the highlight of my week. Man, what a great episode this was. I'm completely with you on the missing material from ITTOD, it would've been nice to at least get In the Evening. I think Carouselambra is probably just a bit too much to wish for on a short set list, especially one that also had Dazed and Confused and No Quarter. I don't think it's an accident that this album was left out, though. Plant seems to harbor bad memories of that album, which is a shame. I always loved that they opened the show with Good Times, Bad Times. This version of Kasmir is absolutely my favorite, can't remember hearing any other live performance of it that really matches its intensity. Yes, it would've been great to have many of the missing staples (The Ocean in particular), but really, it just shows that Led Zeppelin had way too many great songs to be able to fit everyone's favorites into one two hour show. It's simply impossible. Anyways, thanks again for doing these videos, they're simply required viewing for any Led Zeppelin fan.

I think Plant's dismissal of ITTOD runs deeper than the 1977 events. Lyrics wise he seemed to be throwing small jabs at Jimmy and career wise it seems he didn't want to go down that road specially after Page/Plant in the 90s. ITTOD was such a bold statement within their camp and blueprint for Plant's solo career that i think he wants it hidden for good reason. Because 1980 happened i think he would have wanted to enjoy Bonham's time on this planet much better but such is life. Btw looking at Jones and Plant's heritage...genetics seem to play a part in their non-existant relationship. JImmy Page gets a pass because he was the majority stakeholder of the Zeppelin brand.

For Your Life was a big surprise. What if they had played Hats Off To (Roy) Harper or Hots On For Nowhere? My only disappointment is the down tuned songs. Hey Jose, if you use heavier strings and intonate, soloing on down tuned songs is easier.

Heavier strings to make it better i agree the problem is playing Zeppelin with that gauge. Turns it into more metal than the Jimmy Page light and shade :) thank you for watching! Episode 3 premieres March 11th.

I wonder why Jimmy used to use the Danelectro for Kashmir in lieu of the Les Paul?
