- The band's recording time at Stargroves proved successful with working titles, Plumpton Races and Best One Yet, two of the best songs ever produced by Led Zeppelin were laid down on tape. Past the intense studio work, the group was back on the road promoting their fourth album and slowly adding unreleased songs. Let's go back to the famous Warm Ups plus the American Tour coliding with the Stones and their second visit to Japan.

As someone who saw Zep 3 times in the 70’s, its hard listening to such a wonderful bygone era..I wish we were even ½ way to that experience today. Sad.
Sadly never again. The younger guys don’t have enough places to play to get in their 10,000 hours.
The mighty Led Zeppelin we love you forever!!!
Excellent as usual. You are becoming the premiere Led Zeppelin documentarian!
Thank you Scotty! This project has really taken off and there's no stopping for now hehe. Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
I acknowledge that Plant's range was depleted after his problem with nodes but I don't think anyone could listen to I'm Gonna Crawl or Fool in the Rain and think 'this is a guy whose voice is shot' . He learned how to use his voice very well after the surgery. I personally am glad he left the Humble Pie era Steve Marriott style high pitched wailing behind and matured as a singer
I agree with your sentiment here. The High note Robert Plant rocked but he managed to evolve out of necessity!
Really like your comment
I've started to believe that he never had a surgery to remove nodules from his cords
I believe he had an injection of steroids
If he properly fully rested and respected his voice early on
He could've been wailing in the 5th octave with a bright voice by the time he sung "fool in the rain" or "I'm gonna crawl'
But I agree with jcm, I agree and appreciate your point regarding listening to those 2 songs
I prefer his energetic bright high range
But sometimes I do wanna hear him belting his balls out in 1975 onwards, love that husky bluesy bellow
But I prefer it tinged and coloured with falsetto
I've got nodules myself and I've gone from being able to hit really high rock notes, to not being able to sing a gentle country song with cracking , back to being able to belt out notes with decent power in the 5th octave without any procedures
For me Roberts evolution is very fascinating and humanizing
I've watched tons of Zep videos as such, but this specific one is THE ABSOLUTE BEST I have found, BAR NONE! Why? The analysis at the end - the sequence of performances of how they learned their individual parts, then how they figured out how to play them in a group setting off each other - was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! A fantastic, beyond excellent job JCM!!
I am honored by your words! From a Zepp fan to another, i SALUTE YOU! Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
I thought the same thing before reading your comment. Absolutely fascinating to hear the clear progression from one night to the next. Of course, with the nuanced callouts from JCM makes it perfect! Well done! The way these videos humanize this band for me, makes me love and appreciate them even more….and I didn’t know that was possible😂
Thank you so much William. Key word there Humanize the band, that's one of my goals here and to read this is great. As a musician and songwriter myself i try to show a different point of view, they were humans after all :)
Seriously these are the best documentaries on RUclips. I can’t imagine how much time these take🔥
These can take a lot of time hehe, but the satisfaction later on is WORTH! Thank you very much for watching!
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories is that acoustic demo of the Rover on the expanded edition albums? I've never heard that.
Hey Gary. Unfortunately this was not on the expanded edition. I find it fascinating how the song came to be. This was released as a bootleg almost 30+ years ago. The band was really prolific from 1968 to 1972.
I got a fever.....and this is the cure. Thanks man.
more cow bell /& zeppelin
Same here
😊
Heheh nice, glad to know Zeppelin works! Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
The Rover is one of my ALL TIME favorite Zeppelin tunes
The riff says it all, a song about travels and hopes. Wished they played it live as a whole track.
The Rain Song epitomises the brilliance of Led Zepplin.
I fell in love with this track the very first time I heard it!
Musically, lyrically it has everything.
I've never heard a song before, or since that comes close.
It's a song for the ages. Quite unique yes. Thanks to Jones mellotron arrangements and Jimmy"s delicate touch.
The complexity and sophistication that LZ reached by this time has never before been analyzed with such level of depth, detail and insight. This is in a way surprising. But the shear amount of work that has gone into this YT video is impressive and may be part of the explanation. Kudos and more kudos to JCM for this tour de force. Thank you!
Thank you so much Carlos! I appreciate you can feel the weeks of hard rock put into these videos. I believe analyzing a piece of music requires Context above all things so music happens in the proper universe. Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
"The Song Remains The Same" apparently wasn't all the same in the beginning. Love how they worked it out in the end. To me, they got it right. It is one of my favorite Zep songs to this day. Great archives here as well.
One of my personal favorite tracks Common Man, the sense of hope the song has is powerful! Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
Giving the description of the greatness of each of the 3 instrumentalists of the Zeppelin trio, on Rain Song, is sublime... I salute you
I salute you back Majed! Always a treat to read your comments and receive your support! Editing these has been Fun and Hard Work :) Hope you enjoy the third and final installment on Houses next week.
The magic of Led Zeppelin will never fade away. In my opinion, if they threw in another drummer and kept going the magic would have disappeared. Even today ....they can do 10 shows a year, charge anything they want for tickets , and make a fortune without writing another song. But they don't.
They played such an important role in my music evolution. When I was 13 years old I was listening to whatever catchy pop tune that was on the radio. Probably Jackson 5 or similar. And one song changed my life forever.
Out of nowhere I heard...Hey hey mama said the way you move, gonna make you sweat gonna make you groove. From that pOint on I never looked back. The only album I waited on line to purchase was Physical Graffiti. Sam Goody Music in NY. The line went out the door into the parking lot. When the movie The Song Remains The Same came out we went 13 nights in a row. And when they came to NY in 77 ...I was 16. Up until then concerts were 6.50. 8.50. . 1st ....it was mail away....and it was 20 bucks. We sent our money .....and got it back. We missed out. They played 6 nights at the Garden in June, I think starting around the 8th. We were shut out. 2 days before the 1st show a kid in a grade under me asked me If I wanted tickets....Lol... His father worked for Atlantic Records and he gave me 4 tickets ...9th row ...right side ( looking at the stage ) in front of Page. Wow ...
I don't care what the critics said about Plants voice...Jimmy being a bit out there , it was magical. This band was the soundtrack to almost every great memory from my teenage years.
Thank you again for your hard work and great effort creating these documentaries.
You made a 61 year old man smile from ear to ear.
Peace brother.
Whatttttt!!! You were 9th row at MSG 1977! You sir are among Zepp fan royalty. Incredible. At going 13 times to watch the movie is something i would do if i had the chance lol. I still hope a local cinema plays the movie here like a sorta Retro night special. I am honored to have you on my channel. My admiration and love for the band is the basis for creating these. Brilliant!! The best analysis of what was going on in this period with the development and evolution of the songs.... Just brilliant!!
Thank you Kev! Japan 1972 as a whole is worth revisiting. Killer shows all 6!

F'n A, man. Great work on this. Love the commentary on the development of the live show, working toward that one that we know so well from Madison SG. It's like the chat me and my buds used to have analyzing whatever live material we could get our hands on. A real pleasure. Thank you.

It's always impressive what you do. Love the opening soundtrack to this series. Well done. Never was the biggest fan of these guys, but you make the band more interesting and approachable. Thanks for sharing your story of their story. Your effort makes them worth talking about. Also, I appreciate all the shout outs you gave to the other bands that they tastefully appropriated from and the bands who tastefully appropriated from them.
This means a lot the fact that you were never the biggest fan but these videos speak to you in a MUSICAL way, i am thankful to read this. I've always been a Zeppfan that can question his heroes and believe CONTEXT is everything thus the other band's references. In the end they are humans and are affected/inspired by their surroundings. Going into the WHAT IFs can have me coming up with theories, thus why i don't get invited to parties lol. Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
Wow what an incredible episode that was.Well done JCM!!! The Japan concerts and how you analyze their progression. I love listening to bootlegs for that exact reason. When you can really hear how songs are taking shape. Thank you for the passion you have put into this work.🎶✌️🙏
These Japanese Concerts are very much The Making of MSG 1973 too, so many details i can't get enough of them hehe. Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!

Jose, this is one of the best deep dives I’ve seen yet. What an excellent analysis. I busted out my Houses of the Holy cd this morning and listened on the way to and from work today in anticipation to watching this episode this evening. I friggin love what you do with this material. Seriously the best part of my week. Forget about the Mandolerian. I have a fever for more of this channel. Your tribute to this makes me appreciate it even more than before. Excellent drums by Bonzo in Rain Song! OMG!!! SICK!! Love you man!!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS! I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Great stuff you played the album before this one, it's a celebration of their music and ideas :) Bonham just crushed those drums right? Deceptively simple they are. I appreciate your good vibes and support ALWAYS! Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
This series just keeps getting better AND better...
Thank you sir! It's been FUN editing these.
I found your channel because of the previous Houses of the Holy video (and now making my way through the rest)! You can definitely be proud of the stuff you've put out there. You've got just enough of yourself in there to make them more than 'just' a documentary series, and they've been a real joy to watch. Keep up the good work man!
Thank you so much! Some people (a very small minority) criticized me early on for "putting myself" on these, but reading your comment made my day. I don't think you can talk about music without the human experience that in the end sums up how we all came to discover the wonderful world of Led Zeppelin. Thank you for watching! The final installment Episode 3 premieres this coming Saturday April 8th.
I LOVE the way you explain the evolution of the way they played their songs live!
It's something I've noticed from nearly the first time I've listened to this amazing group of musicians!
Hat's off not just to Roy but to you as well! :)

Hehe Thanks Joseph! I need to revisit Roy's discography, he's a great songwriter.
U have me addicted to these documentaries, I don’t know if I could wait a week. Lol
Great job as always
Haha that's awesome. Editing these is addictive too let me tell you. Sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night with an idea lol.
Man you have learned many things from Zeppelin, but I think the best thing you got from this guys is the complete and absolute respect for their craft. You know that the base for a bigger appreciation of your videos lays on their quality, thanks for every little wonderful detail and effect that you put.
Thank you Duccio! I believe artists have a creative process that deserves a closer look. As a composer myself i know things just don't happen overnight, now take Led Zeppelin and the pressure to deliver...it's insane. Glad you appreciate all the work that goes into this. Another stellar entry sir. Thank you so much for taking us in a deep dive of my favorite Zep album. The progressive work shopping the live tracks in Japan was so interesting.
Japan 1972 was a great year in rock and roll history for many bands. If you have a chance, revisit Zepp's run, all 6 shows are fantastic.
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories I will do that!!
Brilliant! The colors, the music in between, the bootleg clips, the choices of what to focus on. Monumental work!
Once again Chris! Thanks so much :) i really enjoyed revisiting the Holland show, it has a special vibe to it.
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories My version is "Running Bear" and I found it on CD at a pawn shop 25 years ago or so. I believe that show is on the 27. There's two I think, the 27 and 28th. When I first picked it up, I noticed right away that Plant wasn't in good voice - but the band...
And my favorite moment from that show (Running Bear), is the intro to SIBLY. The audience recording captures just enough of the chatter and audience noise to add loads of charm to it, giving (me) the feeling of being right there in the middle of it. Magical.
Such a meticulous, painstaking reconstruction of the evolution of these classic songs. You need an amazing ear and a ton of patience! ❤❤❤
Hehe Thanks Rockit Men, i am quite OCD with stuff i am passionate about, it's rewarding to read your comment. I wanna do more Musical Analysis videos in the near future!

10:17 Wow! I didn't realize that the mix was sweetened to make up for vocal problems. Thanks for mentioning it. Your doc on Zep has us seeing and hearing them with fresh perspective. I'm with you for the entire ride!
Thank you Phillip! So happy to read your comment. I took my time on the script to express ideas as complete as possible. Thank you very much for watching this series Arlo. Episode 3 is out now! Stay tuned, new videos are on the way. I will play some EURO 73 shows today, what a BAND!
I'm sharing this everywhere I can and hope it can get many views like the first episode of this album. The best documentary - mostly because it's by a fan who is a musician and goes deep in the studio, when I've heard other so-called producers constantly say, "I would, but most fans are musically dumb" which is not true. Every one who DOES watch your videos say they are the best ever made. I agree. I just hope everything works out for you, and to see more albums.
I am honored by your words. Mantaining the musician and non-musician balance is my personal commitment for the project. I am thrilled to watch the community grow on the channel and i thank you for sharing it, hitting the like button on the videos helps a lot too :) Hope you enjoy the third and final installment on April 8th! Hi Jose! Another exquisite work, a delight to follow these stories, a true journey through the years. There's a famous quote from a genius, I don't remember who, that goes something like "20% inspiration and 80% sweat". Seeing how the boys developed their flashes of genius, chiseling and polishing everything until they reached the wonderful final result… man, that's amazing. The Rover and Rain Song are two songs I listen to every day. There are two more things I appreciate about your channel: first, you don't tell useless stories like some other people out there, because their private lifes doesn’t affect me (read, their love and sexual adventures). Of course, some small details but no scandal, because what matters are the songs, at least I think so. Second, I'm glad it has subtitles in multiple languages. I recommend your channel to my friends of different nationalities but not everyone understands English so subtitles are important. I also love the inserted images, they are rare and interesting. I laugh when you talk about shy Jimmy hiding behind his hair, I always thought “Jimmy is so handsome, why does he hide with that mane?” While writing this comment I got a message from my dad, he loved the whole content but the part about the gigs in Japan were special because he was in the crowd, a rebellious teenager crazy about Zeppelin…I also loved everything here Jose. Thank you for giving us such a thorough and interesting work. Until the next episode! 🙏❤️😊
Hiding behind his hair hahahah, yes, i mean that BEARD seems to be his magic. So cool to read about your father being at the shows. I am honored that both of you have enjoyed these episodes. They were tricky and hard to edit, but i enjoy the final product when i see the energy from the comment section indeed. Thank you for watching Marcia, i really appreciate it! Great photos from the May '72 sound check in Holland! I love these behind the scenes moments.
Percy holding a guitar! You don't see THAT every day!!!!!
Percy said he was not allowed to play guitar lol, poor guy! Thank you very much for watching Part 2 of 3.
Jose, I’m here. Don’t think that i haven’t been tuning in. I figured I’d wait til episode 2 to respond. First on my list is your opening soundtrack song. It immediately sent a chill down my back. This happens when I hear something as beautiful as it is! Perfect accompaniment to visuals for sure. The first outtake we hear of NQ, Bonzo plays Clave rim shots. This is rare as I’ve not ever heard him play this beat in any other Zep tune! It deserves mention. Rain Song: when this song hijacked my subconscious in the early eighties, I didn’t know what it was but I knew it was gorgeous and I liked it, A LOT. John Paul’s experience as a song architect and seasoned session discipline shines here. He’s got the know how skills on what works and what doesn’t to craft a composition. When the Mellotron enters in, dripping lush sound, my eyes fill up - still to this day. The descending riff during Song Remains: yes, I hear the similarities from Something, by GH. It’s a pretty common musical passage in rock. Fun fact: Tom Scholz (the alien Boston multi instrumentalist,) as a kid in the mid sixties would hear on AM radio; Walk Away Renee by NYC band The Left Banke. This song opens with a descending pattern (which repeats several times throughout) that stuck in Tom’s young genius mind. This is where the seeds of More Than A Feeling were sown, with its memorable descending power chord pattern, resolving on a low drop D. It’s tremendously effective. Jimmy’s black “Hummingbird-sleeve, Poppy” blazer: it’s debut in June ‘72 was a welcomed wardrobe change which was the start of a new legendary look for him. The crescent moon/stars trousers would follow by ‘73 to complete the familiar look that’s burned in our memory forever. The acoustic set: you forgot to mention that it was brought back for the ‘75 Earls Ct. shows. Robert’s voice: Grant liked to strike while the iron was hot. This catch 22 was the kiss of death for poor Robert, who had to compete with tremendous stage volume, cigs and...other nondescripts night after night. His voice got fried in exchange for money and greed, I feel. You said it right by stating “time off and vocal training likely would’ve prolonged his chances.” Listen to Odense, Denmark 4 May ‘71 and you’ll end up burying your head in your hands. His vocal abilities at that time were breathtaking. I’ll stop here. This in-depth “Houses” synopsis was wonderful, Jose. I enjoyed it tremendously - as I do all your other work. I commend you my friend! Stay well.
Quite a comment, a profound analysis that i thank you so much for. I agree with your points here, specially the one of Jones as Sonic Architect, he was indeed! It's fascinating to read on the chain of events that inspired one musician from previous works. That is why i hate the plagiarism card people throw so easily, they forget the legact and process of art itself. Thank you for watching L.B, you rock! The final installment Episode 3 premieres this coming Saturday April 8th.
Am I too long winded ya think, I my replies? I can’t help it. Anyone who loves this band as much as I do, I consider an immediate friend and blood brother. You are my brother Jose. I’m so thankful our paths have crossed in this now-crazy world. I know a lot about this band and I’m more than happy to share my knowledge with others like yourself. Stay well my friend!

That's very late 1972 of them. It's a struggle to find stuff for certain dates. I recall once a coworker told me he was a die hard Zepp fan and had a 1974 bootleg.....i looked at everybody else and said OH NICE, the band didn't tour that year lol

Hey Vance! I have so much appreciation for Chicago Stadium, it gave the Bulls their vibes you know? hehe. Man i found out about the Yardbirds reference recently while revisitng their catalogue, i was like OMG. Man those Japanese shows are quite something right? So many moments from that run are killer, like a preview of MSG 1973, they knew they had something special on stage. Thank you for your always great comments and enthusiasm, i appreciate it! You are so lucky to have the PG Outtakes LP. Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
As another commenter posted, using Japan to work out the in-process songs, and that you were able to document it on a literal day by day basis is so impressive and fascinating. Although not related, it reminds me of the pictures available of Jimmy Page buying Led Zeppelin bootlegs in Shinjuku.
Hehe Jimmy's bootleg shopping is LEGENDARY, such a weird situation right? "Hmmm Hi, i want to buy my own band's work?. Revisiting the Japanese shows was a treat for sure Michael. Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
Always a pleasure watching your videos Jose!! Fantastic work! Thank you so much for all the hard work that goes into making these journeys into Led Zeppelin history. PLAY LOUD!!!

Thank you for Watching George! Hope you enjoy the content on the Channel!
I loved this particular segment, the way JCM got into the sub-breakdown of how "The Song Remains the Same." and "The Rain Song" metamorphized into the classics we know them as today. It's sometimes hard to imagine the group as anything but absolute perfection, (LoL), but this just proves that, "hey!", Zeppelin were indeed human just like the rest of us. (Well,.. Okay, maybe several levels "above" most of the rest of us, ... but that they were of human origin anyway.. in a sort of "extraterrestrial way", they were.) ;o) Thanks JCM, once again. As always, you give we Zeppelin fanatics something to look forward to each and every week, here, and I, (we!), greatly thank you for it. You rock dude. {* Oh, and by the way, going back a couple videos... do you give guitar lessons by chance? your playing is just amazing.}
The human side behind the artists fascinates me, it's all about reacting to their surroundings, you know? What influenced them, going into the WHY's of creativity is essential for rock and roll history. As for guitar lessons, first off thank you for your good vibes, i'm not a guitar teacher but i could try my best at helping you if my experience can shed light on topics you maybe inquiring. You can email me at jcm1129films@gmail.com and as always thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
I'm late to this one Jose. I can't add anything to the excellent comments below. As usual. Brilliant !!!
Vic Himself! Nice to read you once again! Hope you had a great week. Episode 3 of 3 premieres today :)
Awesome job

You get more views then subs. Good for you, this is the best Led Zeppelin info I ever heard. Thanks! How many subs do you have? 8,000?
Hey man yeah i got 8000 now. What i've noticed its all down to LIKES. That's what moves these videos :) Patience is key here. Working on new scripts right now.
I wonder if any of the lads watch this? I think they would greatly appreciate your work.
Maybe they will someday, i would be honored :) It's their music and we as a community celebrate it! Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
I was 12 years old at this time in Japan..I was listening to Schools Out ie Alice Cooper..didn't get into Zep until '74..dang it! As usual..stellar work..Fantastique!!!
Wow this is great! Still 74' was a great year to get into Zepp for sure! Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
I feel fortunate to have stumbled across all you have done. Thank you
Thank you very much for watching this series DrZ. Nice to have you on my channel, hop enjoy all the content here done by a Zepp fan to Zepp fans! Stay tuned, new videos are on the way.
Over the years Plant's "diminished" vocals on this record have really grown on me, they have a special grit and whine that vibes well with the biting orange sound of the album.
That's great that Robert's vocals fit the compositions. A remarkable job of adapting to changing vocal chords and the musical landscape. Thank you so much for watching Episode 2. The final installment Episode 3 is out now :)
Incredible work .
Always a pleasure to premiere these UKGuitarNoodle! Hope you are doing well! Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
I remember when I heard that they were coming to NYC in the summer of 1972. I searched for information about them in newspapers and magazines and all I could find was stories about the Stones and what kind of outfits Mick was wearing. I had to wait until July 27 1973 to see my first concert. Not a bad start.
That's the best show to start! You are very lucky Glandelectro !!!
Another great episode,JCM. Thanks for putting these awesome docs together for us. I’m learning so much!
I can tell your into live Zeppelin,I was just wondering if you have Luis Reys latest publication of “Led Zeppelin The Tape Documentary”……It came out in January of this year. It’s an incredible read…..and I think you’d really enjoy it. I’ve owned ever edition since the first one came out back in the early 90’s. I was lucky enough to meet Luis in the late 90’s and have him sign a copy for me. Really nice guy and very knowledgeable on Zeppelin like yourself.
All the best to you. Cheers ✌️
Hey OOTT! Unfortunately no, i don't have Luis Rey's book but trust me, i want to get it, he knows EVERYTHING on Live Zepp. Their concerts are fascinating because of the stuff they played and what they didn't attempt as well. Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
I really like this opening composition JCM! Especially just before the end of the NQ riff as it slows after the harmonized guitar parts. Pretty sure I hear a Page arpeggio that he used live on 6/23/77 used at a couple of transitions including before going back into the verse. Always have been fascinated by that simple yet haunting riff live. Anyway, that's just my guess for an influence. Well done!
Thank you very much! JP! I had fun coming up with the theme. It's hard when you love the albums so much haha. I need to check 6/23/77 for that! Great catcth!
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories Must have been a subliminal inspiration. Right before Jones heads back into the main melody on his Rhodes for the final verse and you hear an awe-struck audience member clearly shout: "Awww Led Zeppe-LIN!"
Best docos ever! Thanks for doing this album.
(No oversharing this time lol) 😂
No worries haha. Thank you for watching Paul! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
Wow, that debut of "The Rain Song" is a perfect example of what I call the excitement and danger of a live Rock show 😁 They had to come away pleased overall to have pulled it off so well despite the challenges.
Love that uptempo riff for no quarter, 👍👍👏👏👏👏
It's such a killer version right? Thank you for watching Brian! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories I always liked Led Zeppelin, but watching your series has given me a lot more respect for them as musicians. John Paul Jones work in them crooked vultures Is also awesome. Thank you for such an in-depth documentary, on a great band
Going to be awesome
You know JCM, the Rover and Sick Again are 2 of the songs that originally got me hooked on Led Zep. I'm glad these came out on Physical Graffiti, because I think those songs suited the album. They may have otherwise got lost in Houses of the Holy. I love the bit that precedes the solo on the Rover. I love playing it on guitar. Maybe I'm crazy, but the song takes me to another place, and another space. I used to stare at the cover of Physical Graffiti, and I imagined being in New York's streets. I was just a kid of 15 back then. But hey, I am getting ahead of myself. This video is about Houses of the Holy. Love your work bro. Absolutely love it.
Yeah Tom i feel you, Sick Again and The Rover needed PG as platform, for that "brown sound". Totally relate with your thoughts here. Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
That was thorough!
Thank you for watching! The final installment Episode 3 premieres this coming Saturday April 8th.
You explained the problem I’ve had with Plant’s vocal on The Song Remains The Same!!!! Sung in C and then mixed back up to D!?!? It always bugged me! Now I know why!
Great job again! Thank you 🙏🏽
Yes this one bothers me to this day hehe. Glad you enjoyed this one!
Great as always Jose .... Bonham killed on the beginning of TSRTS in 77 Listen to this Eddie boot.... INSANE love it . Plant blew his voice out in 72.... Just glad he found a new way to mature into his new voice . I think that's why Zep live esp after those latter day 72 shows Plant rarely attempted to sing any song the same twice up to the end in 80. He didn't trust it. Raspy Plant is awesome too . Always waiting for the next episode my friend ✌🏼🤘🏼
I think the bootleg should have been called BONHAM SPEED LUDWIG hehe. Yeah, he really crushed it at the Forum in 1977. Raspy Plant, nice way of putting it, i enjoyed his phrasing past the high screams for sure. Thank you for watching Keith! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
Plant was amazing in the 73 shows! The SRTS movie/doc is one of the greatest concerts in the history of rock n roll!
Phenomenal channel
Glad to you made it here! Welcome! Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the third and final installment of this series, Premieres Saturday April 8th!
Outstanding episode! FYI, they played a full version of the Rover in Minneapolis, Minnesota opening night for the 1975 US Tour. A sound board recording.
D’oh! I got my songs mixed up from Minneapolis.😅😂🎉
I think those tracks are actually frin😢1973?
In 1975 they played; “The Wanton Song” and “When the Levee Breaks” only in Minneapolis. Eventually, I got it right. Geez, getting old sucks!
To all those who thought masterpieces…were born of immaculate conception. You wouod be wrong. Excellent framing.
Thank you for watching! Media tends to play these albums as over night pieces and no, art takes Time :)
This is just amazing, cant wait for the next episode! Thanks JCM. 30:57 is just epic, that silence gave me chills.
By the way, do you know if they recorded the vocals of No Quarter during the Electric Lady sessions?
Glad you enjoyed it! You are right about that moment, i went back to check and yes, chills is the appropiate description. As for No Quarter it seems vocals were done back at Island Studios with further work at Stargroves. Electric Lady was only for mixing :)
