    I know this post is from a year ago. But I was wondering if you can drill through these holes you repaired? Will it be weak or the same as a new spot on the boat? Thanks

    in the past ive filled holes, let it harden then sand. but noticed rings appear weeks later from what i guess is the hole filler doing its last little bit of hardening/shrinking. Dose this form of filler really not need to be left for a few days to fully harden before sanding?

    • @DIYeasycrafts
      @DIYeasycrafts  Год назад

      I guess it depends on the type of filler you used. I have not really seen any shrinkage on the holes I filled. Used Bondo with Fiberglass strands from home depot

    Did you use the long-strand or short-strand Bondo?

    • @DIYeasycrafts
      @DIYeasycrafts  Год назад

      Short its much easier to use and plenty strong for this application

    I see you have the gel coat already mixed. Did you color match that before? If not how did you get the color correct?

    • @DIYeasycrafts
      @DIYeasycrafts  2 месяца назад

      No I bought and used the same gel coat I used on the deck and gunnels

      @@DIYeasycrafts got it. So you used the gel coat on the entire boat as you were redoing the whole boat. I am trying to match white gel coat on a spot to match the rest of the existing gel coat boat just so the repair looks fairly unnoticeable. Any advice on that? Thx!

      Some of those spots are impossible to get to the back of it

    • @CapnCody1622
      @CapnCody1622 10 месяцев назад

      If you’re not able to get to the back, is it the same process? Just stuff the putty in and sand down once it’s hardened?
