- Like the size of the '80 Malibu, but need a wagon? Chevy has just the thing for you. This is the customer-intended "consumer presentation". You'll find the Malibu Coupe/Sedan film in the "1980 Chevrolet Passenger Cars" playlist.

I remember these being such a mainstay all over middle class suburbia back then. These were both affordable and versatile, which made them very popular with soccer moms everywhere. Then by the 1990’s, parents were handing these over to their high schoolers. You couldn’t beat the Malibu’s reliability at that time.
Were there soccer moms in the early 1980s? I remember lots of Malibu wagons and sedans being driven my relatives and friends but NO soccer moms🤔
@@rightlanehog3151 lots of soccer moms in my region of the country drove these.
@@rightlanehog3151 Baseball moms?
Don't get my wrong, I've always been crazy about these cars, even as a kid when they were new. But the fit and finish on them, holy Moses! Even for a video you'd think they'd tighten up the car 🤣
Very true, the words 'fit' and 'finish' were never used in the same sentence in this automotive era. 😉
I had a new white 1980 malibu station w woodgrain. Also a new white 1984 Citation II. The fit and finish was actually better than my new Ford F150.
the door panel trim was horrendous.
My neighbor around the corner has one of these wagons with a Buick Grand National V6 in it.
I had a ’79 Malibu wagon in the late 1980’s to commute to my first job. It was the lame, stripped down version they sold in the days. It had vinyl bench seats that would burn your thighs if you wore shorts in the summer, no A/C, and back windows didn’t go down. It really felt like you were burning on the beach in Malibu. Can’t forget the horrible AM radio. Summers would be followed with hard starting and persistent stalling in the winter cold that no one could seem to fix. It was so dog slow I joked went 0-60 in 20 minutes.
Well then, it will have to be the 305 with the trailer package. In order to leave some money for my estate, I will skip the Estate with its simulated wood paneling but I will splurge on the rear window defroster!😁
with 4 barrel carburetion.
1:02 six adults, all oblivious to the fact that there are no doors on the right side of the car. 😂
The government didn't require those until 1981.

I love the song at 4:09!!
It's very good. 🎵 🎶 🎼
Where the hell would 2 people be going to necessitate all that luggage?!?
LMAO right? 😂
0:55 poor-fitting (warped?) armrest and the chrome trim doesn't reach the end of the seam at the bottom.
Yes but it has all kinds of sound deadening material!
@@howebrad4601 Does it have asphalt impregnated headliner too? 😂
Yeah, but the rear door windows didn't roll down. They were fixed!
But the rear quarter vent windows opened instead. I think it's a great design.
As somebody who owned a 1983, it was in fact not a great design.
