- It's time for station wagons to make a comeback, and the 1980 models make a compelling case. Though you may want to steer clear of that diesel option.
You'll find the dealer "Training" video as well as the sedan/coupe sales pitch in the 1980 Chevy Playlist. - Авто/Мото
I had the Caprice Estate with the 5.7. Same color and woodgrain as the video. Best car I ever owned, hands-down!!!
I'm proud of my 1985 caprice wagon....
Best Looking Wagon Ever made from 1977-90! Beautiful I wish GM kept the 350 4 bbl gas engine. (77-79). the smaller 8 was a dog especially the later one 307 Olds engine ! I owned 2 of them I miss those wagons!
The 1984 Chrysler Corporation minivans ended the reign of these big station wagons.
Great Memories in these Station Wagons! Especially the 3rd seat option when in the spring and summer, you can sit back there as the wind comes from the front blowing behind you while looking out back! If chevy can't make these wagons anymore, then they should look at doing something similar, but on an SUV.
GM, as a whole, NAILED it with these cars!!!!!! The brochures for the '77 Caprice/Impala & Delta 88, in particular, stated "We made it right for the times without making it wrong for the people", & "The family car that didn't forget the family", respectively. Both were bang-on!!!!!
4:41 "asphalt-saturated felt roof pad" And here I thought asphalt was just for roads. 😂
I will take a two-tone Caprice with heavy duty EVERYTHING . Ideally I would want a police package on a Caprice wagon. Hopefully the dealer will throw in a full load of Douglas Fir plywood to sweeten the deal 😉😉
That would've been the towing package.
Simulated wood inside and out, white wall tires, diesel V8! Sign me up!
Are you sere that you want to V8 diesel? They were very weak engines, they were modified to run on diesel fuel but they didn't beef them up for longevity.
@@tedmarakas2626 by 1981 the diesel engine problems were solved. It was still slow but the torque it had was amazing
That's exactly why R.C...not Amir..why he liked them. 4x8 sheets fit right in. We hauled trash with the wagon. Hauled lumber, pipe, plywood, etc in the SW. Didn't have a truck. Had to get Jackie Bishop's truck if we needed a truck. I only rode in that truck once in several years.
Last of an era, before cars were increasingly electronic ,complicated, engine and transmission easy and economical to replace . So much freedom lost, we will be forced to buy a electric cars.
5.0 liter (305 cid) the best engine ♥
The 5.7 liter engine is , last longer moving much better .
