There are still a handful of these fine cars in everyday use in Saudi Arabia, testament to their enduring strength. At the turn of the century there will still thousands of them in use.
The 77-90 Box Chevy Caprice/Impala was one of GM’s best cars. I had many of them, I currently own a 1978 Chevy Caprice 2Door Coupe with only 27k original miles.
I’ve always wanted these years since a kid 77/79 I’m now 26 and i currently own a 4 door 78 that’s sky blue with a White vinyl top, Everything is original except Interior. It currently has 60k miles , I plan to pass the car down to my Son when that time does come 👏🏽
I used to and still see these cars every once in a while love those Caprice Classic/Impala they were like luxury cars with comfortable seats and smooth rides.
When I was a junior in highschool my folks bought a 77 Caprice Classic $8,348.00 was the price on the sticker. Had all the bells and whistles. Was the queen of the road back then. It's sitting in my garage right now. Think I'll grab a 8 track and go for a ride.
My grandma's best friend had one of these. The upholstery was this deep emerald green tufted velour that you could just sink into and fall asleep. I would ask to go for a ride whenever I was visiting Gram's.
Have a 1990 Caprice LS Brougham last of these - real pleasure to drive & look at. Chrome, pillowed seats, V8 Fuel-Injected engine -- all power. Shame Chevy slowly doing away with their cars.
as a historically ford guy.id have to honestly say these were the best designs GM ever made.they really did their homeworks on developing this chassis.fantastic cars for the working man class.
17:15..........Old Chevy wagons like these 1980 models will forever hold a very special place in my heart..............AND my ears!!!!! When I was little, I would ride to & from the E.Ethel Little School in North Reading, MA in 1977-82 Impala wagons exactly like this one........AND beg my drivers to fasten the seat belts before they started the engines so I would not have to hear that God-awful GM buzzer.
I enjoyed watching this program, some beautiful classic cars, I wish they were being made today on the production line. the cars today are just to small and the front seats are almost always uncomfortable. the steering wheels being very small is causing me to have shoulder pain and abscuers some of the speed dial.....!!!!
That generation of Impalas were the best cars, best Police cars, best taxis. A well made, low maintenance cost Work Horse. And then GM forgot how to make cars
I used to have a 1980's Chevy caprice and that car drove fine like a beauty until the transmission went out of my car and the of my car was black two door sadan!
Grew up with one of these ❤️. It's funny to hear him boast about the aerodynamics though because they're so boxy! It's also funny how the guy is probably in his 30s but looks much older.
When these were new the styling was crisp and classy…but of all things to mention they spelled out how they put in color keyed decal stickers in the exterior door handles. They looked cheap and as the car aged they got worse.
My Grandma had a 1986 or 1987 Chevrolet Caprice Classic it wasn't a good car like it was supposed to be for my grandma. She told me the car had a transmission that was bad and it would surge when she would drive it on the road. Caprice was supposed to be top of line but it wasn't expecially the one my grandma had.
My mom went to a GM dealer on december 79 and they were already selling the 80 Impala, but it remained a couple of 79 with the L6 250. Everyone from the dealer told her she better buy the one with the L6. At the beginning she taught it was a strategy to sell the whole previos year lot, but after a while she realized it was because the 79 had a better performance. She had that Impala for 20 years.
I remember having a 80s model of Caprice. I miss those reliable full size american cars.
Best looking Cars ever! 👍🏻
I miss those cars.
I'll put these up against anything Toyletota and Honduh ever built. The GM full size cars were awesome in every way!

So true! Their only faults I can think of are sagging headliners and the bumper fillers that fell apart.
Neat! Only 27,000 miles?!
Nice! I had an 84 Landau red with white top and HD suspension. Does yours have the aero back window?

2 door model is sharp👍
love the caprice and impala
Such beautiful cars!
This is the Rockwell Retro Encabulator guy! Mike Kraft is apparently his name.
❤ can't understand why I❤ GM divisional days and the cookie cutter cars they used to make, this car, still ahead of it's time.
I would own a collection of old school cars over a hellcat anyday
I love these cars sooo much ❤️🔥🥹
Thanks for this. My grandfather worked for GM for 37 years. He owned 2 of these throughout the years. Seeing this gave me great memories.
Thanks for sharing!
My Uncle bought and owned a Corvair when he worked for GM. one of the bennies for getting laid off a half a dozen times in 2 years.
I remember these growing up in the 70s and 80s . The box C and B body GM cars ruled large cars back in the day ..
im buying one ,,love this old add .
I used to and still see these cars every once in a while love those Caprice Classic/Impala they were like luxury cars with comfortable seats and smooth rides.
Thanks so much! I own a 1980 Impala
Had one. My first car. 1990❤
One of the best Chevys ever made for sure. Taxi cabs, police 9C1s, lowriders, donks, and movie car chases made them super popular.

My favorite car forever
I just restored my 2 door 1980 Chevy Impala and I'm going to LS Swap it,,,, love Box Chevys 👍🏾💯
I would like them all! Even the 1991-1996 models. I love these cars.
Best car ever!

Best model 1990 tbi engine
That guy looks like Doug Llewelyn , best known to me from the original People’s Court TV show.
as a historically ford guy.id have to honestly say these were the best designs GM ever made.they really did their homeworks on developing this chassis.fantastic cars for the working man class.
Beautiful Cars Beautiful People ....
The second he slid that plywood sheet into that wagon, the most popular mortuary removed vehicle of the 80s was created!
That two tone brown and white Caprice sedan looks amazing! Never seen one like that before. I wonder how many were produced in those colors.
I miss my 82 impala, but I have to call bs on the "anti corrosion " treatment. That thing was a rust bucket.

Full frame and no freak wheel drive for the win
Now That’s More Like It!
One of the finest and still is, vehicles out there.
The woman in the white suit looked so good.
Me gusta el carro un Chevrolet Impala/Caprice Classic 1980; saludos y buenas noches.
Nice music

In Canada, Chevy still had the base model Bel Air.
The camel CL interior of the Caprice Classic 4 door resemble a set of couches.

"aerodynamics" LOL STill a beauty though.
GM should rebuilt same type of caprice
Chevrolet
Needs a Hit like this again
2025 Equinox
Is it
16:42 a “budget-friendly” Caprice😂😂
❤
😍!
Well, what WAS the gas mileage?
If there were any of these in mint condition, they’d probably get more attention than a Ferrari.
When these were new the styling was crisp and classy…but of all things to mention they spelled out how they put in color keyed decal stickers in the exterior door handles. They looked cheap and as the car aged they got worse.
I think they were vinyl, and yeah they usually faded and looked pretty bad.
We as America should go back to building this
Instead of gas hog unibody SUV'S.
The Federal Government will not allow it☹️
@@mikemcmikemcyeahok4977
The federal government can kiss my ass
Ill take an old impala wagon again anyday

Real car's
Not plastic fantastic car's and SUVs
I totally agree ! I own a 81 Oldsmobile 88 which I prefer to drive than my mum's 2019 Honda CRV .😂
The beginning of this film is cut off.
Nothing gets past you.
.."not available in California" .. you'll save the rest the world over there...

"Impressive performance" from the 229 🤣🤣🤣 calling it a slug is being kind

Back when it was still a white mans car. R.I.P.
