So animals, like tortoises don't breed until they are quite old. Galapagos tortoises don't become sexually mature until over 70yrs old.

How beautiful they are! All 4! I love tortoises and turtles, and would LOVE a yard big enough for a Sulcata, but with how long they live, and how intelligent they actually are, I will punch my ticket LONG before they will, if all goes well... I wouldnt want to break their little hearts, considering that they can and WILL get attached to their people! And I would want to know they are done well by. Otherwise, someone would catch a haunting something fierce.... Stolen car keys come to mind. So does holding down the toaster handle, turning off the hot water heater before their work shower, tortoise deuces in their shoes.... Make them miserable with mildly malicious mischief, until they get the critter sorted properly!

I had 5 baby red eared slider turtles. We had them a few years until we started to realize the sizes they grow. They also stink with many. Got lucky at a yard sale to get a tank longer than a table. We gave 1 away, after 4 years we gave another away and 3 left. They matured and one day I found eggs, I went to find a container but they got eaten. Separated male to the 2 females. I don't remember what happened to them. I think we eventually gave them away.

Life throws us curve balls that are not always pleasant. I always wanted a cat but all my family besides me was allergic. It always stop from buying one. After losing me favorite dog from a hidden heart disease who was 14 years old. I took a walk my sister who set up traps and found this little kitten 6-7 mouths old who was on death door. No collar or chip. The vet told me this is no outdoor kitten. He was to socialized and he was most likely abandoned. I took him in. I have been very grateful to have a friend again who never leave my house. Him and my other dog are like twins who are always goofy and playing. I called him Louie because he loves all my Italian food he gets into when I am not looking. It make my dog waffilow wish he could climb.
