I do wish Chris would have taken the family to meet someone who had an adult pig.
That was completely my thought as well. Once they see one full sized and how it will cause a lot of issue with space within their home - because I am sure it will want to come inside - they would, hopefully, woken up from this mini pig fantasy.
If it was me, having been in a situation myself where I found myself caring for two rescue Vietnamese pot bellied pigs, I would take the trouble to get to know a local pig farmer. These guys have usually farmed pigs for several generations, and will be able to provide so much information. This was by far the best I could have done for my pigs. I didn’t know they could get sunburn, that pigs get mumps just like humans do. Pigs are highly prone to lead and chemical poisoning from specialist outdoor paints and wood preservatives. There are many foods, fruits and vegetables that are harmful to their digestion. The list goes on. People think putting a ring through their nose is cruel, but if you don’t want your pet pig digging and rooting vast trenches across your garden you need to have a ring put through their snout. They don’t feel any pain from it and it’s perfectly safe. You can have an adult pig indoors, you just have to be mindful that pigs get destructive if they’re bored and left unattended. Mine used to love nothing more than trying to raid the dog biscuits, and roll up in the hearth rug in front of the coal fire. A real life size pig in blanket if you think about it!! Pigs are really easy to toilet train, but fair warning finding yourself stuck in a room when a pig farts is something else. You could bring down an entire army with the whiff of just one fart.🤷♀️

I have to disagree with something you said though. Punching a nose ring into a pig's snout is quite painful and causes intense pain each time the pig begins to root. That is it's purpose entirely.
Instead of doing this to my "Hamlette", I selected areas where she was allowed her natural rooting behavior. In the house the carpet and walls wouldn't stand a chance so her room had indoor/outdoor carpeting on the floor and up the walls as far as she could reach. Another among many adaptations required for such an animal living in an unnatural environment.
I never found it hard to potty train her and she never relieved herself in the house. As a baby she adapted quickly to a litter box and later I always took her out along with the dog.
The mother should have instructed her children how to behave before they were let in with the piglets at the farm. Screaming and chasing the poor group of piglets should never have been allowed from the start. Glad Dr Chris worked with the family and the mother finally got the kids behaving properly.
OMG my mother would've wrung my neck for doing something like what those kids did, not only does it distress the animals but it's just downright WRONG behaviour in someone else's home.
They weren't behaving well with Dr. Chris in the opening either. I can't imagine I'd ever have been allowed to tap and pester at an adult who was busy (outside of an emergency) without my parents stopping me immediately by pulling me away or by whispering to stop it and wait. The mom just ignores that her daughter's pestering while they're trying to film a scene.
Why did they put a ring in her nose? So nasty. She looks like a Pu'aa, a Polynesian feral pig. Surprised there aren't Kunekunes available, they have such sweet personalities and are fairly determinate in size. Again, not a micro pig or a teacup pig, but about the weight of a big dog and more compact. They perhaps should have waited until the kids are older before introducing such a high-maintensnce critter into their lives.

Also sometimes having a child just experience that their unwanted behavior is ignored and not beings them the wanted attention can the exact right thing to teach the child.

"I already have two kids, how hard can it be" and "it was either another kid or a piglet" are such red flags. That and the fact that she seems to have done little to no research on her own. I hope I'm wrong and everything goes ok, I hope the pig is happy and healthy, but I just have a bad feeling about this

yeah, not the best starting conditions, but at least they got somebody to help them make the first steps, which means they might be willing to get help when things go wrong, too

Your brain just kinda of accepts certain behaviour after a while because getting mad just makes things hard on yourself. Nobody thinks two noisy kids are ok and want more as a birthday gift. They are whitenoise now, her brain cancels out their mess
My grandma grew up on a farm and had a funny story. When she was about 5 or 6 the neighbor had a nursing piglet whose mom passed away and he didn't have time to fool with it, so she brought it home. Her dad taught her to bottle feed the baby, figuring once it got old they'd butcher it, even though they generally didn't keep livestock and only grew crops. She spent a lot of time with it because it was very sweet and affectionate and started treating it as if it were her babydoll. This included keeping it clean, and sneaking it into the house to sleep in her bed. She had lots of stories about how smart the pig was and stuff it would do. It was named Snuffles and was difficult to keep out of the house because it figured out how to open the door. Gram said they never did slaughter the thing because she was too overly attached to it, but that it became less funny and adorable when it became a sow that still wanted to sleep with her or cuddle on the sofa. Lol regardless they kept it until it died of natural causes and her dad never let her bring home another animal any bigger than a cat.
I remember hearing that there is no such thing as a "mini" pig. It was mentioned that the only way to keep a pig small is to under feed them and stunt their growth, which seems rather cruel.

Closest you get to a "Mini Pig" is a Vietnamese Potbelly, and even THEY will go 300 pounds or more!
You can def get mini pigs, its just alot of people dont realiese how big a pig actually is so a mini pig will be the size of a St Bernard dog! Plus they need lots of outdoors space to forage and explore....not something the average suburban house has.
There's no such thing as a micro/pockrt/nano pig, but there ARE mini pigs - defined as "any swine under 300 lbs." And you are correct - those folks touting "our pigs full grown weigh less than xx lbs" most likely advocate for a starvation diet which stunts growth, but also greatly shortens the life of the pig and causes many other issues. I like to remind people - if Paris Hilton can't get a micro pig, what makes you think YOU can?? PS - we have 2 mini pigs, Mushu & Kalua. They'll be 6 years old in September, about 3 feet long, 22" tall, and weigh about 200 lbs eqch.
Stunt their growth is cruel and unhealthy! Kids will probably feed him any old thing they feel like anyway, and mom's not a disciplinarian, poor piggy!
There's a reason why they say "pig-headed" well it seems like the lady fits perfectly the description..... not matter what Dr. Chris would tell her, she was already dead set on getting the pig. The piglet is super adorable....giving him a little bath, his own personal space in the backyard.... yeah just wait when he gets around 100 lbs and is bossing you around. Pigs is not for everyone. And the girls are very rowdy. Not good, Dr. Cris should have been more firm, but I understand he was trying to be respectful and professional.
Having had rescue pigs of my own around my young family I know things don’t always go to plan, but on the whole bringing a young piglet into the home environment gives ample time for both parties to ‘settle’ into each other so to speak. Pigs are exceptionally intelligent and playful, so they do tend to enjoy the company of children. I know my pigs did. Pigs are highly social creatures and thrive on being the centre of attention. My pigs, even once they were fully grown (huge😳) they were still very gentle around anyone especially children. My neighbours kids loved nothing more than constructing mini pig assault courses and race tracks for my piggies. Pigs don’t tend to resort to endangering/harmful behaviour unless they are consistently abused and neglected. They are mostly docile, very friendly, are constantly inquisitive, and naturally maternal. But they will eat you out of house and home if you’re not careful.
@@Jjudes9665 you know first hand and by experience, I love pigs and you are right they are extremely smart and sweet nature, and they make wonderful companions. But as for any pet, bird reptile, dogs and cats of certain breeds.... they each have their specific characteristics and needs. I have rescued a couple of Persian cats and exotic shorthair. Many people are attracted to the beauty and the cute smoosh face, but then they don't realize the needs they require, the grooming and cleaning, the food. As you know many have gotten a pig because it became a trend, which is terrible. I really hope this lady doesn't get tired of the poor animal when he gets bigger and her girls don't see him as the cute little spotted piglet that he was, when they first got him. Thank you for your kind words. I’ve lost count of the animals that I’ve been lucky enough to have been part of my family over the years.
I haven’t had my smallholding for well over 20 years now, as the lease ran out and my landlord needed me to move. I did manage to successfully and happily re-home any of the animals I couldn’t take with me. I currently now only have two cats, one of which is a rescue. We acquired him at only 4 weeks of age. Alfie came to us from a young couple who were having great difficulty caring for him. On purchasing him they had been told that he was the last kitten remaining from the litter and he was only small because of a congenital birth defect in his lower jaw and being the runt of the litter. It turned out he was not 8 weeks old as stated but only 3 weeks old when they bought him. I took him on a week later with severe projectile diarrhoea caused by being weaned way too early at around two half weeks. My vet of 30 years was angry and dumbfounded by the whole situation. Alfie bless him took a lot of patience and perseverance to get him properly weaned and toilet trained among many things. Taking any animal from their mother before they are ready has a devastating effect on both mother and it’s young. Alfie went on to have severe bladder and urinary issues which were most certainly caused by being weaned 5 weeks too early. He’s now on medication and a special diet for the rest of his life. I had a similar issue with one of my pigs because the litter was removed from their mother too early. This and a persons complete lack of knowledge about proper animal welfare when they purchase a pet REALLY infuriates me. There’s nothing I don’t know about cats, they’ve been in my life for over 50 years. But I have to admit I knew zilch about pigs when I first found myself looking after one. My first port of call was a local animal feed supplier. Not only to get proper pig food in pellet form, but to pick his brain on who he knew that kept pigs locally that I could learn from. That was by far my best move. A local (4th generation family) pig farmer was a godsend with a whole plethora of information about pig keeping. He also put me onto books I could get through the the library, another minefield of very useful info about pigs. I actually think this lady that wanted the pig for her family will be fine. She’s obviously already successfully keeping healthy and happy chickens. Chickens like most poultry are not easy to keep, as there’s so much that can go wrong very quickly. They are prone to so many infections and diseases. I think she’s done her basic research about pigs, I just kinda hope she doesn’t think that’s all she needs to know. Keeping any pet is a continual learning curve from the day they’re born right on up to the day they die.
I don’t think anyone should just go out and purchase any kind of animal without first finding out what exactly caring for this little creature entails. To not do this is abusive, cruel and neglectful.

Honestly, I've seen pet pigs before and they never struck me as problematic from the outside, but I do get Dr Chris' perspective. It is one thing to be a childless couple with no other pets but a big pig you walk every day, as I've seen. Quite another to be a single mom with two rowdy, not particularly well-behaved kids and already a menagerie at home. Any pet is a commitment, that woman is the only adult in the household, and she has enough commitments already.
I’m always so afraid whenever I hear about someone getting a pig because for some reason 90% of the time they don’t know that even mini pigs frequently get over a hundred pounds.
Yes. I think they’re adorable as adults but I know a lot of people don’t. So when they grow they’ll just get rid of them
Oh and much, much bigger. There’s a video of a guy in America who adopted a ‘micro pig’ that’s now a whopping 600lbs

I do hope Petal is respected by the girls, they are treating her like a dolly, and once things get harder, I have a feeling the interest will wain. I wish there was a follow up video!
@TimTim the BunBun! It's best for the animal... uh, okay. Not all children are disrespectful towards animals like your niece and nephews are. I never mistreated my cats, and the one time I did and got scratched, I learned not to do that anymore. But I never lost interest.
I had a childhood friend who's family adopted a dog, then promptly lost interest in it. The dog sat in a cage in the backyard for the rest of its life, completely neglected.
And guess what? The kids will lose interest in that pig, and the pig will continue to grow. The mother seems to think this pig is like a dog, but it's going to get much bigger, louder, and more destructive than a dog. And the pig will either end up neglected, or sold to a slaughterhouse. These people are irresponsible as all hell. There's no such thing as a mini-pig, ridiculous.

@TimTim & The BusyBodies! my cousin loves animals but i think she is hard on them even my really loved rabbits ran away because of her. Now because of that we always have a HUUUGEE rivalry But my other cousins are really gentle to animals
That's why they bought it. It's just a toy for the kids, sadly.
It is normal for kids to treat everything like a doll, or rather they treat their dolls and stuffed animals like they would treat smaller kids and animals. That doesn't mean they are not interested and will not develope a relationship, it means that they have yet to train their skills in tending to smaller beings and reckognize their needs.
Children are literally unable to even consider the needs of others long term befor they reach age two or three, their brains develope as they grow. Why they need supervision and training.
These girls acted like very excited lively young girls of their age. They were not respectless, they just did not know how to treat a pig.
My sister bought a pot-bellied piglet on an impulse awhile back, and apparently it was the sweetest, snuggliest thing ever. Fast forward 4/5 months, and sweet little Waffles has blown past the hundred pound mark and needs to be kept either out in the backyard or a large dog crate (depending on the temperature) most of the time to prevent him from knocking over and/or biting my little toddler niece and visitors. Me just getting near the cage by stretching my legs out during one visit made him growl! I really wish someone had had the opportunity to talk my sister out of getting Waffles in the first place, or making her aware of what she was getting herself into the way Dr. Chris did here.
Pigs should be in a pen out side where they can express natural behaviour, it’s probably frustrated and bored should not be crated up

That pig would be so stressed. I've had two piglets that I helped my mom take care of. One for two days, one for two weeks. They are SO much work. Not to mention, they hurt when they bite.

Actually every pig likes to be clean, if you put out a shower with a handle they can reach they'll take showers all the time and keep themselves very very clean. They use mud when they can't get fresh water because it keeps them cool. If the pig doesn't like the bath, they probably don't like the water temperature or the way they're being touched.
True my pig loves taking a shower she goes there and lay down while water falls on her back hahaha she also ha a pool and if she doesn't she will try to lay over the water pot. 😄
I was a pig farmer for a few years. Pigs love mud a they eat their own feces and will eat their own young sometimes.

@@mugiirakimathi6299 They exhibit those behaviors in the wild too. They love the mud because it acts as natural fly and sun protection. They eat their feces possibly to cover their own scent from predators and to replenish their gut biome.
Rescues have had to pop up all over including us to accommodate the mini pig craze. We currently have 8 rescues and are working on more fencing and a barn

@@whosaidthat4299 Sadly I think a lot of people are deliberately mislead by sellers. Obviously the duty to do research is still on them, but if a breeder tells you it's only going to get 10 pounds, why would you think to ask if they're lying? Only getting to 10 pounds, not being destructive, being as simple as a dog, etc are all wild lies I've heard people were told when they sadly had to rehome their pet pig due to size or care issues.
I have several rescue pigs from people who didn’t understand how much work it is to have a pig. Pigs are wonderful animals but not for just anyone. And they grow! I hope Petal’s family does right by her.😊 Merry Chatman to all at Bondi Vet and beyond.🎄
Pigs are food my family raises them yearly and they go to the butchers just before Christmas. If it's any consolation they were given the best scraps and a warm barn when it was cold.

Why does the pig have metal ring in its nose? Terrible. So dangerous if he gets stuck in something. And thoose children needs to be calm around animals. Sorry to be a Karen....but yeah

However small and cute Petal is she's not going to stay that way for long. With all the jumping and screaming I don't think this family is ready for a pig. Too many people have read "Charlotte's web" in the same way too many have read "101 Dalmatians."
This house is too small for a pig... There is no such thing as a mini pig. She thinks it's noisy now with her 2 kids... Pigs screams for the littlest reason and I hope her neighbors are incredibly understanding

I hope Petals family sticks with her for the rest of her life. So many sad stories of adopted animals being returned or abandoned because the families had a change of heart. Buyers remorse of regretting getting the animal.

Dr. Chris tried to warn them but this lady was too hard headed to listen. The girls are too young and loud for a pet pig and the yard is too small. Bad idea all around. This pig will be rehomed within a year, maybe 6 months

The moment he goes in the door opening it with his feet 😂😂😂 this is waaay to accurate, mine even pulls on handles to open drawers lol I've read dozens of stories and they are all so smart and each causes their own special trouble, they get really mad when you stop them, like a bratty little 4 yr old causing a tantrum at the supermarket lol
I have a friend who bought a "pygmy potbelly pig" which is just nonsense because it was HUUUGE ... But it bit off his sister's finger in the yard and they couldn't find it, so it looks like the pig ate it. Privately, I thought it was hilarious 😂
Pig farms are used for nefarious purposes. Pigs can devour a human body in minutes. James alefantis (of pedogate and a friend to Obama) has a pig farm.

As someone who has a pet "mini" pig, this lady has no mfking clue the time and work that goes into having one! I love my Pickles, but sometimes it's freakin hard!
Edit to add, I grew up farm life, so most anything sort of farm related isn't an easy "pet". Tho Pickles is a rescue from a bad situation when she was about 9 weeks old and now she's about 5ish months old. So she wasn't an impulse addition to the family. But yeah, I never truly realized the work and effort when I was younger.
An old landlord had me bring them a piglet from the farm I was working on. She was a meat pig. I told them to eat her in 6 months because she was going to get to be 300lbs. They fed her dog food, didn't eat her, and couldn't contain her either. She used to chase neighbors down the road and me from my car into my house. I'm terrified of pigs now.

Once the pig gets big, I already know they'll give it up. I dislike that Dr Chris didn't straight up tell them this isn't a farm or a farm sanctuary, so they shouldn't have a pig.

You can keep a pig on a house with a big yard, they are great animals but they're not a good pet for everyone even tho keeping a pig is not limited to a farm or a farm sanctuary. I work with a pig rescue ☺️

..yes, I thought that too! Surely showing them the mum would have given them an idea, which is probably why the farm didn't show her. The mum would have been a bit twitchy if she had been in there too, but they could have gone to see how large, and strong a full grown pig gets! The house will not be big enough, and I can imagine that the girls will be boisterous and end up being bitten in defence.
Having once managed a small holding with a whole plethora of animals including two rescued Vietnamese pot bellied pigs I can guarantee they are hard work. They are naturally fastidious, social and highly intelligent. My ex was a carpenter which was great for building outdoor structures for our animals needs. Our pig Sizzle was especially good with other animals and children. They can get lonely, so it is best they have company and are not left alone for long periods of time. Sizzle knew I was pregnant with my daughter before I did, and she behaved very maternally towards children. They are highly inquisitive and can easily work out how to unlatch/open any door and will be quite destructive if not kept amused and part of the ‘family’. My neighbours kids used to love constructing pig assault courses which was fun all round for everyone. So if you’re still determined, I wish you the best of luck and have fun.
Definite tips though….make sure you register with a vet that deals with pigs/farm animals before you need one in an emergency and can’t get hold of one in your area. It’s also good to do your research on pig keeping/husbandry before you start. There’s so many things that are dangerous even toxic and fatal to pigs. Your nearest pig farmer is a great ally to have in your phone book. Pigs prefer to have a specific place to pee and defecate. They actually hate literally living in their own filth, so you have to keep these areas clean several times daily. Not enough clean space and regular social contact with other animals, their owner and other people will drive them insane and can bring out the worst in them mentally and physically.

That's not true, a pig most of the time are very clean and housebroken, but it's still a pig and it will grow and grow...

As you can see the pig is not afraid of Dr. Chris. This is because Chris is the only one who actually treats the pig correctly!
If you have young children, can't even train your dog, and have no experience with the new species of pet, don't get it!
I would like to see a follow up on this story. The family didn't really have a clue what they were getting into besides the advice from Chris. He should've taken them to a rescue sanctuary. My girl is three, she's as big as a miniature horse and she's alot of work, she's also very loved.
I had a pet pig when I was younger. His name was Wilbur. He never was bad or acted like a crazy animal. I kept him busy by playing with him, gave him a dark house inside and outside the house. My grandparents took him to the pet store and let him pick his own toys, even clothes and food. He loved apple skins and he would eat the dogs food, the dogs didn't care he was one of the pack. I was living with my grandparents for awhile but my mom got custody of my brother and I after my parents were divorced. Wilbur was happy to be with my mom too. She spoiled him like he was one of her children. We lived in a two bedroom apartment for awhile. Wilbur had a pig bed and pen in my mom's room and I shared the room with her. He slept with us every night he would stay with mom half of the night and come to my bed at midnight. I woke up with him nozzled upto my neck. I miss him. He was a small pig about 75 pounds at his heaviest weight. We expected him to be larger. He was a runt I don't know if that was why he was so small. My grandparents let me bring him with me when we went camping and fishing. He was part of the family.
Bcs this videos come back up, here's a friendly reminder that tea cup pigs and miniature pigs aren't a real breed of pig. They are full sized piglets and will turn into full sized pigs with love and care.
Pigs that stay small are the ones whose owners were instructed to starve and malnourish them causing their body's to stay small and their heads to be bobble like.
Don't be like this dumb family.
To Chris's credit he tried but as a vet you aren't allowed to tell people not to get an animal if they're asking you for advice on getting one

We have pigs outside on our farm... I would never make those pigs come inside and expect them to behave the way I want them to. Not fair to the pig or the house! Let them be pigs, outside in their own area.
Dr. Chris/Bondi Vet thank you for doing this story. I could see you were trying to be as chipper as possible under the circumstances. As you stated, and anyone like myself that has had a pet pig knows, it is not a good decision. Mine was not by choice but a rescue. There were so many unfortunate perceptions with these parents. First, a breeder contributing to a real problem of undesirable pets (they don't stay a cute little piglet for long), then the nose ring preventing rooting, a natural behavior for finding roots and certain bugs. The list goes on and on. Just sad.
Oh, I was wondering about the nose ring. I was thinking "Isnt that going to make it super uncomfortable when the pig is rooting?" and turns out that's the whole point. Seems like punishing cats for licking themselves.

Tbh people should stop hating on this woman in the comments. She consulted a vet and did her research. Just give her a chance will ya! I myself had so many naysayers saying I shouldn’t get my sugar gliders and I heard so many reasons why I should not get them. I got them anyway and I thank god every day I ignored everyone and just listened to my gut and got what I wanted. You only live once and they make me happy I enjoy strange animals and they actually ironically enough are not as hard as people make them out to be. I’d say it depends on how dedicated she is if she understands what she’s getting into and she still got the pig she’ll probably be fine. It’s the people who don’t do research that end up rehoming. For example, my gliders are rehomes and their first owners were a couple with a big home and money and on the outside probably seemed more fit then me. I’m a single young girl in college with not a lot of money. However I take better care of the gliders and am far more dedicated to them then their first owners were. People shouldn’t be so quick to judge this woman. Let’s just wait and see what happens.
I'm glad Dr. CHRIS told her what she's getting into. No such thing as a mini pig, they get big. Having a pig in the city isn't a good idea.

A mini pig Is literally a pig that should usually stay small, it was called that because calling it a “pigmy pig” doesn’t quite “fit”.
The way he described it though how mini pigs don't stay mini when fed... Of course they won't grow to their full potential if you starve them?! But that doesn't make it a mini pig? Just a underfed normal pig O.o
Also the ''mini rabbits''. When my sister was a very young girl (she is now adult), one aunt gave her a ''miniature rabbit'' and everything was cute until he turned into a big, big rabbit unable to fit in his enclosure at all. A seller sold them the standard, big farm rabbit 🤣
Dunno what happened to the creature after the parents sold him to a guy that keeps rabbits on a pasture.

I really liked Dr. Chris before seeing this video but now I am absolutely in LIKE with him! I just love how he educates as much as they'll listen. He is very handsome but when he was talking to Petal...ugh! My heart just melted! I've always talked to animals like they could understand me. And I really feel like some of them definitely could. I dont think it was a good idea to dump the dog alone outside away from its pack as soon as the pig arrived even tho I understand the reason. Mum please teach those girls to be more gentle and respecting of animals. Glad it turned out well in the end of the video :)) My favorite was the brown with the black spots. Very cute. The problem is, people want a pig as a pet, but they don't want it to act like a pig. The nose ring is designed to prevent digging. This borders on animal cruelty, because natural behavior is suppressed. Mini pigs are like big pigs and want to live out their needs. Problems can arise in the house.
I wish we'd had an update once the pig was fully grown.

I’m pretty sure I heard somewhere that when pigs smell blood they panic and eat/attack the source. If that’s true, I’m surprised they didn’t bring this up at all. Young kids hurt themselves on accident all the time.
I don't think that's true at all. As a kid I lived on a farm with meat pigs and they never once showed aggression aside from when they would huff when messing with their babies. The pigs that generally attack people are usually neglected and /or starving. My dad worked at a chicken ranch and constantly hurt himself yet still took care of the pigs daily without ever getting bitten. This pet pig isn't even going to get fed meat so it'll have no taste for it. Our meat pigs though generally had no problem killing a chicken that got a little too close to them though my dad regularly fed them chickens from his work. He never fed them live chickens and would break the chickens neck before throwing it into the pen but they got the taste for chicken and loved it. Me and my siblings ranged from the ages of newborn up to 13 when we first lived on the farm and we all interacted with the pigs daily and never once got bit.
Definitely not true. Maybe if they're regularly fed raw meat, because then they'd associate the smell of blood with their food time, but even then pigs are very smart and not likely to intentionally munch on a still living person. I would be concerned about the girls getting their fingers into Petal's mouth when she's bigger though. Pigs will not shy from biting if annoyed, or if they think you're holding food and oops, that's your hand. And a pig bite can easily snap digits and tiny hands off before the pig realizes it wasn't food (and now it is food, because it will swallow and you won't be able to reattach...). They don't have soft mouth breeding like modern dogs do (the thing that makes dogs release before they bite when they realize that's your hand and not food or a toy they thought they were going for).

The children are just too small and too wild for such sensitive animals as mini pigs, the chickens and the dog are also on the run. There is still a long learning process necessary for the mother and the children.

These characters need to inspire a children's book, "The Adventures of Ned and Petal."
My late Dad was an illustrator. I often kicked myself for not doing this with him before he lost his eyesight to Macular Degeneration. I had a smallholding, and a menagerie of cats, a dog, rabbits, hamsters, rats, geese, ducks, a fish pond, two pot-bellied pigs, and a large aviary of finches, cockatiels and budgies. Many of which came to us via rescue.
But alas there’s always a whole host of ‘what if’s’ after you lose a parent.
I just hope Dr. Chris realises how great he is with kids and that he really shouldn’t put that side of his life on the back burner for too long.
I know a guy with a pet boar. He rides around with it in his standard cab truck with 2 other big dogs. Few months old and it’s over 40lbs already.
We don't have kids, but we have 4 indoor cats, 3 outdoor cats, 3 dogs, 13 rabbits, and 2 mini pigs.

First off I think it is cruel to have that metal in the pigs nose there is absolutely no reason to do that. I don't understand why that wasn't the fist thing that they would have done was to take it out.

Does anyone know why it has the hook through its nose?
Pigs naturally want to root in the dirt. This is very destructive so people put those rings in their nose to stop them. When they go to root in the dirt, the ring causes pain so they stop. I personally think it's very cruel to deter their natural behavior just because you want to keep them where they don't belong and to do so by causing them pain. It'd be like someone binding your child's feet because you're tired of them running around all the time and want to force them to walk slower or be in pain.
@@prettyevil6662000 agreed/ we have two rescue pigs and will have two more soon. People should not own a pig if they refuse to let them be pigs. Rings in the nose is terribly cruel. No wonder the pig is already "calm"
