I met Robbies brother when i was invited to a small private party at Blunts shoe shop next door to the George hotel in Bewdley where i worked as head barman in 1980.nice bunch of people .Class.
This is one of the most relaxing song of all time. If your pissed about something, at someone, had a shitty day, crack a beer, put this song on repeat, lay back close your eyes and get away. Nothing else matters.
I was 18 when this came out. oddly enough they had just raised the drinking age to 21 but I was grandfathered in. Just what I needed right>?? WRONG. But it was epic as I liked white Russians and ice-cold "bottled" beer! Mum tried to lure me back home but I was having none of it as I couldn't get laid, had two jobs, and wanted to be on my own as I have ever since.-------------------- No one has EVER supported me whatsoever since that summer of 83. Proud of that. Living off of your Mum or others is pathetic and not something to be proud of. Never been one of those people----Unlike some of my "other siblings' who will be forever supported by others as they cannot make it on their own without help and a roof over their heads provided "for them!" Not much respect there,,,, son!
Yeah Robbie had nothing to hide behind to "smooth out the edges" like so many artist today. Just a man and his strat. He was great at using the open spaces to build the tension. Then those beautiful, crystal clear chords cascading over the sparse, dry back beat is such an unforgettable sound to me. It takes me right back to that moment in my life when this got heavy airplay on the radio, like it was yesterday.
I asked Alexa to play “Can’t Stand Losing You” and she went on to play this song. I thought, “Who is the guitarist on this? Sounds like David Gilmour.” Thank goodness for Wikipedia and RUclips!
Robert Plant’s voice is a real medicine for our souls !!!! ❤❤❤❤ against depression or any problems !!!! Robert you are God of my heart !!!!🍀❤️🍀❤️❤️🍀❤️🍀❤️🍀❤️
this has always been my SONG...the one that makes the hairs stand up...the heart skip a beat...RP looks so 80's here...that guitar man could have me with just the music....what an album this was....
They did. I seen them I believe. Seattle I was so impressed with that work I do remember I was in the audience stage right pretty close to the front, and they physically had to prop up. Robbie blunt, and put the guitar strap around his neck and neck guitar and steady him and he came out and played perfect. He must’ve been plastered but he played masterfully. I’ll never forget it. I especially loved that album pictures at 11 but the song, big log, the simplicity of it with a clean Strat sound, is always one of my favorites, yahoo, to Robbie Blunt
Robert is one of those rare artists that sounds even better live. Saw him do this in LA singing' My love' an octave higher than this recorded version if I'm not mistaken.
I remember I bought this cassette when I was in basic training when it came out... Im 52 now...still an amazing song...just got the sheet music to it! : )
Just found this amazing song and I'm addicted to listening to it! It's the most beautiful, sexy song I've ever heard. Robert is such a wonderful singer and I think the early 80's are his most handsome. Robbie Blunt is so talented in his songwriting and guitar playing. Aaaaaahh!
Robbie Blunt was a master of good taste and gave Plant the aesthetic gap he needed to start his solo career without sounding like Zep. Smart move. Pictures at elevent is a brillant album.
They are really that good, actually. The electrons flow directly through the ions of air atoms to the amplifiers. Another reason you need an ionizing room air filter...
Local 3 piece North Seattle band ShyAnne, dudes' Strat had a wireless transmitter P.C. Board behind the back cover plate! Worked great, dude loved the freedom of not having the boxy wireless transmitter on his belt. He said nobody ever noticed before, then made a joke about "faking it". Props to dude, great player, great band, guys! rocknfknroll
True, but this song is a guitar classic. My favourite Robert Plant solo work was when Robbie Blunt was in his band as song-writer as well as adding great guitar.
this song really embodies what mortality really is. Everytime I hear this song, the only thought that enters my mind is of me, at the end of my life, clinging on to my last breathe...and this happens. I hear this song, a slideshow of my life plays before me, and I feel a mixture of emotions. Happiness, Sadness, regret. If you imagine this song playing while U are about to die, A million reasons on why you need and want to live suddenly become clear and the desire to be a better person is there

One of the best clean Strat with chorus tunes ever! I notice Blunt has a Floyd Rose on that Fender. He seems to like the flared headstocks too! Is Plant wearing a one piece suit? Like something from ABBA!
Robbie just went up the ranks by 10 pts. playing that well without even being plugged in is to be rewarded! Seriously great player. On a seperate note: MTV was the begining of the end.
I know I'm replying to an old comment but I just had to, I wonder how many noticed that neither bass or lead guitar is plugged in, not even a wireless device in their output jacks, pretty amazing we can hear them so well! 😂
People can quit saying that Robbie Blunt is underrated. Every video you see with him is full of comments about his amazing tone and artistry. We ALL know he's recorded some of the best Strat tones on the planet....we know !

Another song to do the exact same thing to is Moonlight and Gold, by Gerry Rafferty, he's brilliant 😊
Absolutely agree❤😊
Here we are in 2023. This song is every bit as cool as it was first time I heard it. Incredibly cool. Beautiful 🙏🏼☮️❤️
It's a timeless epic tune 😎 👍
И в 2024 году это заучит также потрясающе!
Shame that a band of this caliber wasn't allowed to play live.
It's rules of the TV show
Playing live = sound check = time = money = less profit...
🧐that is Robert plant lead of ledzeplin 😲 🙄👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀🍻
It's because TOTP condition.
And there is no "band" ,there is Robert Plant with session musicians.☝️👋
Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were in the Band Led Zeppelin
Robbie Blunts tone and playing on this is fantastic.
Love Robbie Blunt on that Stratocaster Guitar. One of the most underrated guitarist ever.
The Sleep Tights it wasnt even connected, such a shame this was trash playback :(
oh i just read a comment that says someone put the studio song and removed the live audio lmao
Still cool as shit. Got to see them live in 85 at Riverfront colliseum in Ohio . Treasured memories
The tone Robbie got out of his Strat is insane.
Thought it was Doug Boyle on axe
Haunting guitar work and vocals, one of Plants best.

It’s 80’s overload! The hair, the clothes, the mustache, the lights, and what the hell was Robert wearing? Love it all…
A jumpsuit with a big sweater draped across his shoulders !
I love this guitar solo. It's simple but very effective much like Gilmour's stuff. None of that pointless high speed twiddling.

My love is in league with the freeway
Its passion will ride, as the cities fly by
And the taillights dissolve, in the coming of night
And the questions in thousands take flight
My love is the miles and the waiting
The eyes that just stare, and the glance at the clock
And the secret that burns, and the pain that won't stop
And its fuel is the years
Leading me on - leading me down the road
Driving beyond - driving me down the road
My love is exceeding the limit
Red-eyed and fevered with the hum of the miles
Distance and longing, my thoughts do collide
Should I rest for a while at the side
Your love is cradled in knowing
Eyes in the mirror, still expecting they'll come
Sensing too well when the journey is done
There is no turning back - no
There is no turning back - on the run
My love is in league with the freeway
Oh the freeway, and the coming of night-time
My love

Dashuria ime është në përputhje me autostradën
Pasioni i tij do të kalërojë, ndërsa qytetet fluturojnë
