Ernesto Policella (audio)
Thanks to the both of them....
Enjoy!
I can’t imagine what it felt like hearing this beautiful masterpiece In the 80s for the first time
I was 11. The video came on on MTV. What is this? Why is it making me feel a certain way? I was hooked. It's been one of my favorite songs most of my life.
@@kayeess9905 I love the video 😁
I grew up with Zeppelin so at first I wasn't sure. I remember liking it for sure. But I definitely like it a lot more. The video kind of freaked me out. I put myself in that isolated dusty town.
Wonderful live version.
Rare.
I can listen this song all day long & never get annoying
Me too!!
40 years ago...is this possible to find a similar Masterpiece now
No it's not!
No is the quick answer. Lol
My late coming perspective have only seen a few, but never from anybody raised before all to be sold, the way these nursery rhyme artists now.
It makes sense though. Progress moves toward accessibility. so if music is dumbed down that makes it more accessible to a wider audience.
The issue here is their trading those dollars with the lowest common dominator and setting the bar that low. The most lucrative media are no longer concerned with being a masterpiece :(
I guess I'm old aswell now anyway lol
The WARNING QUEEN of the MURDER-SCENE opening for THE KILLERS
My favorite Robert Plant solo song.
Me too!
Plant’s solo material post Zep was so under appreciated. Early 80’s cool. Blunt was a badass soloist!
It's funny I just realized I have almost all Plant's solo work on vinyl and only one Zep album 😬
Blunt was AMAZING!!! ..such a great clear tone!! And his finger picking style was so sweet!!
Robbie Blunt killed it here.
Totally agree from Tx. Ship of fools,Big log,Heaven knows and on and on. Truly coastal highway drive music.
Robbie Blunt's guitar is just magic.
One of the best strat tones in history.
magic
Probably the best two solos in one song! Plants vocals and blunts guitar playing ! Classic masterpiece!
This song is forever Masterpiece!
Absolutely true!
The best version I have ever heard...
The guitar & Robert’s voice..... Absolutely the most beautiful & seductive song! Thank you Robert.
Except in THIS video, I caught him lipsynching. I had a feeling about this, 'cause the mix sounds too much like a studio cut and no reverb from the acoustics in that room. It sounds to perfect to be live. It happens toward the end of "Lead me on,"
(background vocals: "Lead me ooooon"),
"Lead me DOWN the road"
"Driving me on"
(Background: "Driving me oooooon")
"Driving me DOWN the road'
(Background: "AAAAAA-AAAAH")
"Oh, DOWN the road"
@@glenturney4750 I aslo thought so when he started singing I picked up a few things. But I love the song 👌
The guitar in this song is amazing
Heaven knows
Simple but amazingly satisfying for this song, the tone the tuning the notes, perfect right !? Yes indeed! 👍
All fingers no pick. Robbie Blunt.
Robbie Blunt guitar is just sublime
I went to Oakland, 1983 to see this tour. Then flew to Seattle home , to see this tour..
I saw ZZ top at the cow palace, the summer before returning to Oakland collusium.robert plant, met some friends from summer. We saw randy Hanson fillmore west san francisco the next night. Wild life back then!
WOW!! An actual live version of this masterpiece!! Thank you for sharing!!
We had my daddys funeral today,we played this song during it cause this my daddy's favorite song
Sorry for your loss, great song for your dad.
He had good taste in music. My brother was a great drummer died last year..when I listen to stargazer by rainbow reminds me of him.
My deepest affections to your family. May your daddy shine on. Take care Tonya.
Sorry about that...Im pretty shore your dad Was aweson..
Hit me up..I know what you r going thru
My favourite song of all time
Agreed. It never gets old
Blunt had the cleanest clean tone ever
Finally found this song live amazing performance
One of my favorite songs! It reminds me of the days of being a “kid” driving trucks for a living in the 70’s.
The echo of the guitar is great, takes it next level!
Delay
I get that same sound with my Boss DD-3 pedal.... Love it!
I'm so glad someone recorded this
What a brilliant record, still brings the hairs up on my back
Me as well.
I can't describe the way this song makes me feel. I feel like every time i listen to it i wish i had someone else to listen to it with me and feel the same way i do but i usually play it by myself. Idk. The deepest melancholy
One of the best live renditions I have ever heard of any song....
His voice at his best. Supreme brilliance.
Okay, its good here because he got used to jis damaged voice since 1973, but previous to that it was peak
Robbie Blunt. . Amazing 👏
Yes
Sublime guitar player, perfect compliment for plants vocals too...
Remember so well when it was released. It was and still is mesmerising to me. To be honest I’m terribly sad those days are gone.
Beautiful songs and guitar playing! The guitar tone and sound is out of this world! Whatever happens to music like this song so much soul and feeling!
This is the one and only song that got me into the guitar. A red squire stratocaster bought from a catalogue in mid 98 when I was 15. This song still gives me goosebumps ,it's so magical. It's a song about the journey we face in life. You can't go back ,the only road is the open road ahead ,which is were this song belongs - on that open road !
Took me days to workout on record player but saw it live a few times. I ended up in support slot for Steve gibbons,. bobby's band when Percy Plant first uprooted him but if in town Plant always has time for the musicians from his past. Sense of humour is legendary as well as integrity.
If you ever take a long road trip make sure you play this song
phil C on the marimba!!!!! classic! LOVE IT!!
I've never seen the live version that is as good as the original.
yes indeed. The best live ver. ever.
I actually thought it was the backtrack it was close to the album version.
Awesome Robert Plant is a genius.
I saw him at M.S.G. in 1983, great concert but sad at the same time. All the Zeppelin banners in the crowd brought a tear to my eye.
This is………magic. This is better than the original Robert Plant video clip. You can see how for instants the two Roberts are connected when the guitar solos, like Jimmy and him years ago. Sad they didn’t show up the drummer.
Right on Omar 🎶
Wow people just love the first line sung from Plant, listen to the applause when sings the first few lines. Definitely a Rock icon and see why his voice and appearance brings so many to witness this music delivering icon, long live RP ✌🏽❤
Robbie and Robert , The original is Superb. 🎶🎶😎
beautiful guitar playing with Robert voice~~ thanks,
Geez, 40 years ago and still tops on my playlist.
I was fortunate to see Roberts first solo tour 1983 in Dallas...memories..the show was excellent!!!...👏👏🤘🤠
I turn 26 this month and I have so much appreciation for timeless music like this. Will rock ever return to the heights of Zeppelin?
I hope so!
Doesn't get any better. Love Robbie Blunt killing it on guitar and Jezz Woddruffe with the majestic keyboards, Paul Martinez on bass and the whole band. Timeless. Those lucky people in the crowd. I got to see them in 1985 when I was 15 but principle of moments tour looked amazing
Great player Bobby, noticed by genius Howard dumble..who only makes his sought after amplifiers for guitarists he admires
There are so many gifted people in this USA, no need to drug & alcohol adiction to feel high, just feel this song telling you what is to be in love, to feel happy, to feel sad, to feel thougts colliding, and no turning back on the run.
This is a great song by Robert Plant
C L A S S I C ROBERT PLANT. WOWWWWWWW!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Plant shoulda kept Blunt around.
Nice to see an actual live performance of this song. So many vids labeled "live" are not. Kudos! 🤘
Brings back memories. I saw them at the legendary Glasgow Apollo on this tour. Seems like a lifetime ago.
Buddy of mine did events for the apollo.
@@vibefrequencyable Distant relative owned The Apollo. Troubled venue but legendary!
WOW .....That guitar player is ..Spot on❤️
the best electric guitar solo I've heard! and the best game! I am delighted!
Robbie guitar is the stitching of the song 🎶.
VERY GOOD JOB,Joel,milions thanks!
This song is a relief to me..Thanks.
Robie on this one is incredible, all the song is beauty
Perfect Song!!! Underrated ROBERT PLANT Y BAND!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Finally I found plant with a non-lip sync video
Wrong. I found the spot in this where he lip synched. When you hear him sing, "Oh, DOWN the road", the mic is nowhere near his face.
I love this song and the vocal too❤❤
My first concert ever Robert Plant, Richfield Coliseum. I was 15....life long fan.
My first concert was at the Coliseum as well. Def Leppard opening for Billy Squire in 1983.
Thank you so much for this footage!!
They don't make music anymore like this.... All kind of mug in hitparade nowadays.....
Best live performance of this song . wish they had this version on Spotify
Saw this tour in Biloxi Mississippi 83
Kansas City!
@@Anisky123 very Cool 😎 if you're still in that area Cracker seems to be based there . Check em out
In Houston 1983 I was at that concert...never seen Robert plant !!! Using binoculars it was as close as I have see him in my life!!! I was mesmerized the whole time..I always wanted to see him with LED Zeppelin!!! But I was too late in life..18 years old...I also know that Phil collins was on drums......
I rank this song in same league as stairway to heaven… amazing
Plant sounds Great 👍
Plant is LIP SYNCHING in this vid. After the part when he sings "Lead me on" and the background follows, at the end of it where the background sings, "AAAAA-AAAAH!", Plant sings, "Oh, DOWN the road", but his microphone isn't in front of his face!
BUSTED! I'm surprised nobody caught this in here? Plant ripped off his audience, LIP synched to a studio track. That's fraud! If the guy can't sing his own stuff LIVE, then he shouldn't burn his fans by PRETENDING to.
GREAT GREAT SONG WITH ROBBIE BLUNT FOR SOLO
Damn, good song!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a great live version. Just like the album but on steroids..Also, Notice the drum kit..Phil Collins drum kit, who also played on the album, and programmed the drum machine beat.
May we fly all the way to heaven on wings of an Angel. Still rocking 2022🤟🎶😎🧡
I love this song, Robert’s voice is amazing 🎸🎤🎶
Wonderful voice, beautiful guitar soulful singing so different from Black dog, immigrant song. Robert is great.
My grandson is learning to play the guitar by ear and i always pic the old school music the beatles and this extraordinary song old music is all i know
who thumbs this down. smh you fools, great upload ty~!
Great Live version.
The Great Robbie Blunt
A synth-based song that was subtle, moody, and evocative. Blunt’s guitar work conjures a feeling of wonderment I think. this song will always touch me as it came out when I first left the nest, NEVER to return.
"Driving me on, Driving me down the road!"
thank you for this RARE live capture as there is little to nothing out there for this in a live format!

Máster piece!!! This song must be between the best songs of all times
Ladies and gentlemen, enjoy the fabulous guitar playing style and unique sounds from Robbie Blunt. I wish they would have cut another album like the first solo album pictures at 11
The second one was just as good. Especially, the guitar playing
Even if they had it would be very difficult to top this
Fantastic!
This live sound is so good.
I was there, The Summit, Houston, '83. I remember Big Log was not the highlight of the evening, there were many more of his other songs that were much better live. Pledge Pin, Worse Than Detroit, Fat Lip, In The Mood, Messin' with the Mekon, Thru With The Two Step, Horizontal Departure, Stranger Here...Than Over There. Phil Collins fit Plant's style perfectly
Lucky u
I was there also there, 18 years old, section 121on the left side. I remember the heavy bass before the song began.
My parents were dating at the time and went to the summit to see him that night. My mom being 18 and my dad 19. Just out of school. 4 years later they had my sister and then I came not long after. They aren’t together now but they still reminisce about all the great concerts they saw together there and at the Colosseum. They instilled a strong and healthy love for great music. I wish I was a spectator at the concerts they went to. Music at its finest hours.
I love this song,very love
Another proof of a giant musician.....
Thank you very much for this fantastic upload!
I love the guitar. It sounds like a bouzouki at times!
Always a heart soul feeling when I drove from the desert to los Angeles
Thank you for posting this classic...
i wish it was 83
how I wish...…..how I wish......
HDMI cable from Laptop into a 42" flatscreen tv and you are there, dude! Get ready to hold your lighter up in the air! And for audio, get a HeadphoneJack to RCA's cable, and AUX plug into a house-shaking stereo from the 70s or 80s THEN, prepare for your freaken face to melt off.
Outstanding! :-)
Awesome performance
Beautiful
Beautiful Tune Timeless X poetry in motion ☺️
You got that right! Totally timeless.
