I asked this guy to make one of these rigs he said he doesn't make single action pistol holsters WTF
He’s the Bob Ross of leather. So peaceful to watch.
Has anyone else noticed that Sam does not, or very rarely uses filler words when he speaks? Very precise and extraordinarily concise. A True wordsmith and artist in every sense of the word.
Sam is a gracious and humble man. I was blessed enough to spend more than a year learning the craft from Sam in his shop. Stopped into his old shop in Alachua Fl to buy a holster and was totally mesmerized by his process. He graciously ask me if I wanted to build a holster with his help. I jumped on the opportunity. That 1 holster turned into many more and I was able to learn with him over my shoulder. It’s a knowledge of a craft that I will have with my for the rest of my life and I owe all of that to Sam.
What beautiful, highly skilled work. I am so grateful that the interviewer/presenter allowed the artisan and his work to speak for themselves, rather than being intrusive.
"Not coming back toward myself" Good tip!!
Sam is an authentic craftsman!!
The Bob Ross of leather.
Sam's a true craftsman! Great video Hank
I want to listen to a western audiobook with Tom narrating!
A truly pro quality voice.
very comprehensive. I culd make an average holster after this video.......Mission accomplished, on your part. Thanks partner
he have a really calming voice and would love to have such a lovely holster
This guy is a genuine craftsman and an outstanding teacher. Plus, he makes it look SO EASY !!
WOW , SUCH SKILL AND SUCH SHARP KNIVES.
Thanks for sharing your craft. If Mike Rowe ever gives up narrating EVERYTHING, Sam should get the gig.
Thank you very much for showing us how to work with your hands, and not being afraid someone will steal your secretes. I'm 84 years old and I really enjoyed it.
Not many secretes when cutting leather.
Is anyone gonna mention how amazing this guys voice is????????
Sam is like the Bob Ross of holster making ... I could watch and listen to him for days!
super helpful. Im a beginner leather worker and this helped me a lot. I tried to make a holster similar to this with no stencils and this video showed me some things I did wrong and others I need to work on. Thank you
I could sit all day watching him work. Amazing talent! He gives me the impression that he has been a teacher or instructor. He has that kind of voice :-)
Hofsan1 Hell, he has such a great voice he could make a killing as a voice actor.
Sam Anderson’s rigs are second to none. Mr. Andrews is a artist where leather working is concerned. Thank you for the Video of Sam doing his art.
you're welcome knowing so many appreciate is the fuel for making these videos
Absolute artistry! Sam sounds like a wise sage or wizard - could listen to him talk all day!
To all you urban cowboys who want to make your own, forget about it, without that stitching machine you are wasting time and dreaming. Mr. Andrews is a true craftsman.
That is the mark of a TRUE CRAFTSMAN, you NOT ONLY explain how to do things BUT WHY you do things!!
Awesome craftmanship!
I kinda want to see a blooper reel of Mr. Andrews‘. That „Really?“ moment when the rain started was just gold.
Sam Andrews the Man, the Skill and Talent, the Quality, Attention to detail....The Legend in the final product. Excellent presentation a Southern Gentleman who takes pride in his work. Love this videos.
He makes it look so effortless! What an amazing craftsman!
This man's voice is a legend of the west
Thank you Sir
Would love to win!
I'd pick a holster for my old-school SW model 59
nice gun good luck my friend
Hybrid saddle style for a glock 35. Always wanted one of these, hope to be able to afford one soon. Sam does really exceptional work.
Mr. Andrews is not only an excellent craftsman. He is also a very nice gentleman.
Over the years, I have many of his holsters and every one of them have stood the test of time and look and perform as good today as when I first aquired them.
I would strongly recommend his work to anybody wishing to process the finest leather goods to be had anywhere.
Sam Andrews is awesome. Gotta love his colourfull narrative throughout this piece. He has cool tricks with the tools as well.
That Mohawk is STRANGE................... ;)
What a great man, artist enjoyed watching him
Amazing how much work goes into a beautiful belt rig like that. So many little details that go into this that you would never even consider! That gentleman is a true craftsman! Thanks for sharing this.
I absolutely love excellent craftsmanship and pride in one's work and the humility on top of that just can't get any better, it's just not possible imho 😮
I’ve spoken to this gentleman on the phone several times when I ordered a holster from him. Not only does he make beautiful holsters but I swear I could listen to him read a good book for hours.
Thanks to Hank and Sam, the how it's made videos has got me into leather craft. I've been incorporating all of the tips and tricks that Sam has shown. I'd be elated if I would get a saddle style holster in elephant skin for a G43.
It is satisfying to watch a master at work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and explaining in a manner that others can understand
Beautiful piece of art, thanks Sam Andrews for everything.
I find it amazing that the brief western history has captured our interests for so long. Beautiful work.
Wow! I now truly appreciate how much work goes into a leather cowboy rig. Very impressive!
Even though it's bad weather outside at time of filming Sam makes it seem like it's bright and sunny out. One talented dude he's definitely helped me make mine thanks for bringing it to everyone. Mr strange🤘you rock
Sam, you are well appreciated. Thank you.
This man should read bed time stories or tell us he’s beveling happy trees
Best voice on RUclips!
Thank you I hear that alot.
I love to watch a master of the craft. This man is a master of the lather craft.
Sam is what the world needs more of - expert craftsmen willing to share their lifetime of developed skills with the world. We need less techies and more craftsmen in our world. Old traditions and old skills like cobbling, leather work, etc are going by the wayside. Long-live Sam
Beautiful, Thanks Hank for sharing this with us! Well worth the time it takes to watch.
You're welcome thank you for taking the time out of your day
Unbelievable workmanship. That’s a work of art.
Very cool! Thank you for showing everyone how the holsters are made. Real craftsmanship!
Those holsters are indeed a work of art! I have a couple of revolvers from my late father, a S&W Pre-Model 15 .38 Special (1957) was an ex-police revolver...beautiful bluing, but with some holster wear. I'd love to have a classy holster for that one. The other revolver is Colt New Frontier Scout .22 in the original box with an extra .22 mag cylinder. My father had picked it up at an auction shortly before be passed, it would also be a great candidate for one of your holsters. Thanks Sam for sharing your art with the rest of us!
Well done, sir. 😊👍🏻
It is so good to see good old fashioned workmanship where products are really built to last. I am sure many of those well-built holsters will become family heirlooms that won’t be any worse for wear in a couple decades when taken care of properly.
wish it was longer video! beautiful work
Pure artist.
Thank you! Very generous
Nice work!!! That sticher is an amazing old piece of tooling!!!
What a voice on this guy!
I do enjoy seeing Sam at work, an artist!
I got in to makeing holsters because I couldn't find what I wanted I spent many ours researching before I made my first one .i could have just watched this video and saved alot of time .you sir are a true craftsman great job.
Incredible workmanship! I really enjoyed watching. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Kudos to your knowledge, experience and attention to detail. Thanks again
Probably the most beautiful set I've ever seen.... The work there shown there is simply awesome..
I can just imagine first thing in the morning walking in and taking a deep breath to start the day! I get that with my motorcycles and construction shop. I learned so much here and I don't even work leather.
I'm 79 and retired so i used my old welding jacket to make a holster for my colt peacemaker airgun revolver came out nice
Woo hoo! Another Andrews video! So excited. I would love to have a McDaniel 2 for a glock 19.
thanks for checking out the video good luck
That is a beautiful piece of work! It's awesome to see a true artisan at work.
Wow ! This was an amazing video. This was basically a step by step on how to build your own holster... not to may out there with SO much detail. Thank you. And, I’d like to add the Mr. Sam Andrews should probably narrate a western audio book.
Sam ain't not joke I'd love to know what Sam has forgot. Thanks Hank & Lola for videoing this series and sharing it absolutely awesome videos
A Master at work is a joy to behold. Just beginning to understand all I have to learn, Thank you
Beautiful work, a real pleasure to watch.
I saw Sam Andrews again at a local Orlando gun show within the last month. He had made two units for me in the late 1980s . The first rig was for my Colt Series 70 Wilson modified .45 acp. This rig has a canted holster, a belt and two magazine holders fitted to the belt. The second rig is a shoulder holster setup for a Beretta 92. Both units have bottom tensioners that help to retain the firearms in the holster. The quality is impeccable some 30 + years later. I keep both holster rigs treated regularly with a moderate amount of Lexol and they look fantastic !
I have a Ruger GP100 .22LR 6" barrel that I Absolutely LOVE! Been dreaming of a holster rig for it. Mr. Sam makes Amazing holsters, I just can't afford one at the moment.
The Andrew videos are great! My best friend has several of them and the quality is the best. I would love to have a MacDaniel II for my Ruger SR 9.
thanks Brian good luck
I love watching this guy! A true master of the craft!!!
A cognac croc monarch rig for a full size 1911 or glock 34 would be amazing!
I could watch Sam work for hrs, thanks for the great video.
I do enjoy this gentleman's voice. And this video is absolutely fascinating.
Something very cool about a rig like this,I want a righthand monarch or a saddle style alligator or Ray wrap for my Beretta 92 (more modern da/sa gunfighter rig). Great craftsmanship - a real art to this, greatly appreciated Sam. Thanks hank
This leather craftsman is amazing, so precise and well done!! His products are well worth the investment. Props to you!! I am impressed. I would love to have the space and equipment to do this. I am doing my own holsters from scratch and HAND stitching. A lot of work but will last a lifetime plus!!
Excellent craftsman and articulate also.
Fantastic, what a professional guy with a wonderful attitude.
That "wrestling an octopus" line earned you a like
Period style fast draw just like that beautiful one in the video, a work of art for sure. My Great Western General Patton 4 and 3/4 would melt to slide in that holster.❤
Fantastic work Mr Andrews! Thanks Hank for the great coverage!
[May 17th 2019 at 5:30 PM] 24 hrs after this video premieres we will pick one person who comments what gun and what holster they would like to have and Sam will pick one and build that holster for you...join us, like the video, share and comment :)
8t was my pleasure to work with you, you guys were great!!!
WOW! That is a gorgeous western rig, I'd love to have one for my two Taylor's & Company Remington 1858 sheriff models with .45 LC conversion cylinders.
Thank you for sharing these videos, I have learned new skills & could literally watch over & over. Sam is an outstanding craftsman.
A thing of beauty....!
I Had to sell both my OM (old) model Vaqueros when I became a single parent raising four kids.I used to get sick to my stomach thinking about it. They were the only guns I really missed! Years later I finally got another first year production (1993) Vaquero (old Model) -7-1/2" barrel. I would love a rig for that!!
How is this guy not making a killing as a narrator? His voice was made for it.
I was getting ready to say about the same thing...
I was looking your wonderful job, but the strength of your hands and fingers make it an Art. Thank you for the quality of the video.
This guy is like the Bob Ross of leather. Amazing.
I enjoy watching him stitch using the old Landis. I have an old Champion harness stitcher, still operated by pedaling, that I use for my holsters. Haven't quite convinced myself to convert it to electric powered just yet. Tools over 100 years old and still to an excellent job with a little maintenance. That aluminum slicker is a great idea that I may have to try out as well.
This man drinks fine bourbon, and fancy cigars and tells story's of his time as Mi6 or story's of home on the range. Elegant and proper
That is one gorgeous piece of work
Plus, the rig he showed at the front of the video, it's hard to believe it started so plain. Dayuum, this fella be good !!
Another Andrews video! it's a great day yesssssssssssssssss
True Artistry
thank you
A great video, thank you very much.
A well done job Mr. Andrews.
Beautiful work ! .. its enjoyable to watch a master craftsman at his work, thank you for sharing this video.
