    People in the comment section are talking about the fact that she came straight from the UK with a school dress on her and an american accent. But what surprised me the most, was the fact that everyone who entered the Wayne manor already knew how to fight, how to ride a motorcycle, and can do all sort of acrobatic stuff so they can become right away Batman's sidekick.

      Agreed, they made a big mistake by not making her Barbara Gordon. The producers didn't find Alicia believable enough to pass for Pat Hingle's daughter, which I think is bullshit.
      As for the Alfred and Peg and English accent thing, I just say she was adopted.

      @@luigi2891 There's an extended scene that was deleted that hints at the idea that she is NOT Alfred's niece, but she is his daughter instead. Also they had written in before taking it out that she was going to be related to Bruce as a cousin as Alfred says in the deleted scene "She went and married a musician...", which is actually a possible nod to both Martha Wayne (neé Kane) and Kate Kane.

      I think she was based on Alfred's actual niece Daphne. She appeared in Batman #216 which is also the only appearance of Alfred's brother Wilfred who is mentioned in the movie.

    They have surveillance cameras in the garage (shown later when Batgirl steals the bike and Dick sees her thru the IR signatures) but not a single camera outside the main entrance door where they can immediately see who's ringing the doorbell? Nice going Mr. Wayne.

      It was bad for all who were involved I think. But you could say the same thing is occurring today with Snyder's films. I know Henry Cavill at least could play a great Superman/Clark Kent, if under the direction of a much better director and script. DC needs to be wiser about choosing their creators, so their actors don't suffer as a result. The sad thing is that they tend to blame the actors for the failures of the director, so if a movie doesn't do well, then the actors and actresses can suffer as a consequence. People aren't hitting them up to be in their films, because they don't want to lose money too.

    There’s a good movie here hiding underneath the bad stuff. A movie about the importance of family. And mister freeze is the perfect villain for that story. If they had cut bane, poison ivy, and some of the more silly moments out this movie could’ve been one of the best batman movies.

      On the Bruce Wayne half, Clooney is almost perfect. We can feel his aura and presence as billionaire playboy and suave gentleman. I rate him no 1 as the best live action Bruce Wayne.
      It was as Batman half where he failed.

    Alicia Silverstone is a babe. but Michael Gough, who was already Alfred Pennyworth in the three previous Batman movies, looks so enfeebled in this one

      Well, Alfred is supposed to be really sick in this movie so maybe it was on purpose. Or maybe he really didn't want to be in this movie, but was contractually obliged to play Alfred, whether he wanted to or not. If your heart's not in your job, you're gonna halfass it. That's true for any job.

      @@Xylarxcode He's supposed to be dying. He has McGregors Syndrome stage one, which is why Bruce reaches out to Victor Fries and begs him to cure the syndrome which Fries does but under the condition that he gets put in the same cell as Ivy.

      @@patrickr2691 Leo wasn't a mega-star until Titanic. That's what really put him in the map. Therefore, it's entirely plausible it could have been just as big with O'Donnell, and maybe his career trajectory would be different.

    Beginning @2:48 and for the next minute or so I can't help but be reminded of Christina Ricci's portrayal of Layla from Buffalo '66 when watching the lovely Ms. Silverstone, even down to the way both characters speak. I'm almost ready to hear Barbara blurt out "...Billy, I'm freezing!"

      Yeah, Batman & Robin pretty much killed her career. She had starred in a bunch of bombs even before that, but B&R was the finishing blow that ended her stardom. She's still working, but she hasn't been a big name in Hollywood since then.

    At 0:47 Somehow, Barbara sees Alfred from the door before he even turns the corner to get into view. Her vantage point from outside of that door could not have been that good.

    I can really see why I liked this movie as a kid. It’s a really well made kids film and has just the right amount of touch of Adam west’s Batman. It was disappointing to learn that all the man children hated this film.
