- Batman (Michael Keaton) and Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson) have a run in after Napier's men take on the police. Attempting to save Napier, Batman drops him into a vat of acid, transforming the gangster into the Joker.
About Batman (1989):
Tim Burton directs; Michael Keaton stars as Batman; and Jack Nicholson stars as his arch foe, The Joker. As the Dark Knight, defender of law and order in Gotham City, Batman treads the shadow zone between right and wrong, fighting with only his skill in martial arts and his keenly honed mind to defend the innocent and to purge the memory of his parents' brutal murder--always keeping his true identity as millionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne a closely guarded secret. Based upon Batman characters created by Bob Kane and published by DC Comics.

I love how awed and dismayed Gordon's reaction is when he sees Batman for the first time. Really does a lot to sell the character.
Oh
My
God...
THANK YOU for the original audio. The replacement effects sound awful and overbearing.
I love the symbolism here that Jack could have escaped, but chose to engage in violence instead.
Brilliant direction by Tim Burton here, with obvious references to the german expressionism and Metropolis' mad factory. That moment in the stairs echoing the final scene in the cathedral tells a lot about the characters too, their madness and their fate.
Now that I’m an adult watching this movie now I always wondered when Jack shot detective Eckhart was he going to kill Gordon as well if Batman wouldn’t have been standing there in his peripheral?
I don't think Napier would have openly shot Gordon. Napier doesn't appear to despise Gordon the way he does Eckhart. I think Jack would have be satisfied with his revenge on Eckhart and escaped.
Conversely, I think Batman could have saved Eckhart but didn't. Batman knows Eckhart is a dirty cop, so he probably didn't feel the need to save him (keep in mind, this Batman is a darker version of his then comic book counterpart).
So, he fell into a vat of acid, got his skin bleached, and became a super villain. Couldn't he get work as a rodeo clown?
Don't you dare laugh at the Joker!
@@devilpupbear09 why not? I thought the Joker always wanted to make Batman laugh! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@ClarkeMarek YOU'RE NOT BATMAN! 💣
@@devilpupbear09very nice reference🤣🤣🤣
Money is no good ,you would laugh finding out how much they pay
Love the AWESOME Danny Elfman scoring. Orchestrated by Steve Bartek. Conducted by the late Shirley Walker and performed by the Sinfonia of London Orchestra. STILL holds up today.
When Batman dropped Jack in the acid he was like: "you killed my parents you deserved to burn"
He had no idea that Jack had been the killer.
No he didn’t know that Joker had killed his parents during this sequence
@@Silaguk Why do you think he didn't immediately recognize Jack as the killer?
@@Sisyphus27 because later in the movie, there is a scene where he finds out.
@@Sisyphus27 Jack's face has aged probably 30+ years by this point, so Bruce doesn't realize who he is until later when Jack has him at gunpoint and says "Did you ever dance with the Devil by the pale moonlight?" with the evil grin. Then Bruce has a flashback to the night his parents were murdered.
"Jack Napier ! Did you order the code red ? "
"You're god damn right I did !
AAAAAAAHHHHH ! blub...blub... "
- Fact -
According on one printing of the Joker's origin,
the chemicals were the inks used to make playing cards.🃏
Was the chemical use on playing cards, based on this movie or in comics?
That oddly makes sense all things considered.
But im not sure where the purple suit came from
That doesn't mean much when the joker has like 11 origin comics and they all slightly differ. From what i remember the real original they just sum it up as a "vat of chemicals".
I wonder if up until 7:45, if Gordon appreciated Batman’s help?
The best Batman and Joker of them all!!!
Miles better Health Ledger and Christopher Bale.
The TV Joker had better henchmen. They went 💥 BAM !!!
and 💫 POW !!!! and 💢 ZIFF !!!
7:47 Just like in the comic book
7:05 - "Eckhardt! Think about the future."
3:13 That is the worst “freeze” yell I ever heard.
Poor old Porkins, he just never could hold it.
It never occurred to me that the bullet that batman deflected hit joker in the mouth, causing his famous rictus grin.
I still think this the best batman film of all time!
That's an understatement.. It towers above all the others.
We should see more of jack Nicholson joker in future
I preffer new dark Batmans movies but i very like Jack Nicholson... Great actor with legend creations and smile.
Great how Batman just lets Jack Napier shoot Eckhart
this batman kills people, literally in the 2nd movie he strapped dinamite on a penguin thug
3:15 that cop single-handedly takes on six armed gangsters. What a legend
Since Jack killed Bruce's parents during his youth, why do you think he seemingly never gave any thought to the fact that Bruce was still alive all these years later?
Batman needed glasses??? LOL
I like how the safe has nothing there that was locking it in the door frame like a regular safe (which is why you would turn the wheel?).. I think they could of opened it with a corwbar or just pulled the handle like they did originally lmao.
That wasn't an innocent moment for Batsy
Jack Nicholson has a son and did a similar smile, just like his dad for his upcoming movie, Smile 2.
Batman: *knows the police are about to put guns on him* .................................
>Y: Smoke Pellet
The chemical plant was the same set used in ALIENS for the hive.
You're welcome.
7:45 AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Didnt realise it was probably Axis Chemical plant that was resposable for the polluction that killed the Penguin in Batman Returns.
I thought the Joker became the Joker when Bruce Wayne was still a child ...
How come Bobby didn't tell Jack that Batman disappeared before the latter could shoot him?
The true Batman
Mirror!
Mirror!!!! 😂😂😂
MK had no business playing this part, there isn't a single athletic bone in his body that in any way resembles a superhero. Might as well have had Adam West reprise the role.
Eckhart betrayed Napier too?
I feel like keatons batman was best because he really didn't say much, and all the villians wondered if he was even real (almost bordering being seen as a crpytid in their timeline), folks didn't even know if he was human or some giant literal bat that might be eating people (for all they know). The modern batman movies suck because batman says way to much, the batmobile is always a tank (boring by now), and batman comes across as some mercenary rather than some unknown benevolent force of the night.
I have never seen this movie titled as anything other than "Batman" not "Batman becoming the joker" Why title this clip like this. It is pure click bait.
are you mentally challenged? xD
just watched joker 2 and I miss Jack Nicholson as Joker....he was good but the best was Heath ledger.
Ledger was too young. The Joker is a lot older than Bruce Wayne.
I'm in love with Kim! 🥰
Freeze! 🤔
This happened to my buddy Eric
Did Eckhart leave his gun at home?
I love when the joker said waite untill they get a load of me.
Noooo... shoot to kill??? How could we POSSIBLY know what you MEAN?!
What's the point in the smoke bomb???
Do you need agree?
Watched the new joker movie. Suuuuuucks. Watch this gem of a film instead.
