  • In this video we discuss our first trip to Dollywood. Over first impression of the rides, atmosphere and theming. Coming from the perspective of a family that has been do Disney World dozens of times we compare and contrast the 4 main Disney World Parks and how they stack up against Tennessee's most visited, ticketed tourist attraction.

As a hardcore Dollywood fan it was cool seeing a outsiders perspective. Something I would point out that I think separates Dollywood is the shows and festivals for senior citizens. A huge chunk of people buy season passes (like $130 to $200) and never even get on a roller coaster. For example I bought my mom (63) a season pass for Christmas and it came with 3 free bring a friend passes. So that pass paid for itself before the new year even started.

I think they do a pretty good job on wide demographic appeal. Very true.

I grew up going to Dolly🦋ood. It’s absolutely amazing to me how for this park has come from the early 90’s. You’re absolutely correct, DollyWood’s Christmas event is hands down the best. I will say the park is slightly lacking on coasters as of now. With that being said, give this park 15 years and it will be massive. 4 more resorts are in the works, two new coasters, and I would imagine a massive redo of showstreet. The great thing about DollyWood is that the company works insanely hard of making the park better each year.

With a brand new section of the park it does appear that they definitely invest back into the parks regularly. Compared to Cedar point it definitely doesn't have as many coasters but you're right. Someday it might. Seems like they definitely have to land to expand.

I think Dollywood has the best train ride and they even talk about the history of the two locomotives and those locomotives do work really hard

Dollywood is without a doubt one of the best parks in the nation! There’s much more to this park than just the rides, the quality and friendliness of the staff, the park’s location, it’s services, the cleanliness of the park, how safe you feel, the price vs experience, and the quality of the food are all very high marks for Dollywood! Also when visiting here everyone should also plan to visit Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cherokee NC, and the Great Smokey Mountains National Park which are all equally in and off a HUGE amount of different experiences from fun, food, and culture to shopping!

I have been going to Dollywood for over almost 10 years now I think. Compared to other parks it’s a great park as they don’t have have certain ads built into the theming compared to a six flags or Ceder fair. But with Dollywood they have something for everybody plus great food. Plus good festville sand such. But the best one is Christmas by far

Without seeing the entertainment, you missed out on 50% of what would've made the park possibility top Disney parks. It is such a major part of what it is about.

Genie+ is awful and i learn abit about Dollywood they got paid front in the line but there passes snd employees get discounts on those
They just have limited amount per day
Genie+ is just the same thing as of fastpass but now your paying 20$ + extra if its a popular ride and maybe wont able to use it on every ride if to busy

Make sure you plan to also spend time in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg! Also take some time to see the beautiful Great Smokey Mountains National Park and visit Cherokee NC. All of these are very easy to visit as they’re all on the exact same road you’ll take going to Dollywood. You could literally spend weeks here and not see everything in the area! It’s a whole lot better and offers every bit as much fun as Disney but at a whole lot cheaper price.
