This game was refreshingly good and also probably one of the most original plots I have come across which let's face it is a rarity on both PC and any other medium.
It actually borrows several plot devices and ideas from SCP. But I agree its a great game, and I love it. Probably played and replayed it 6-7 times now. Exploring all of the nooks and crannies. I love the music, and gameplay so much.
Also, gameplay was awesome, gives any "superhero" game a run for their money - all the powers, moves and weapon forms were so cool and felt really nice to execute.
@@wjrneo2 I hhev no idea whatsoever what SCP is, if I google it it doesn't highlight it agme wise; but I am going to hence have to take your word for it. Suffice to say in this world being original is very hard.
@@CalridRobnor123srs "SCP" stands for "Secure Contain Protect". It's a creepy-pasta turned massive collaborative horror creative writing project. It's essentially a series of documents about anomalies (objects and entities that do not follow the understood laws of physics) and how to deal with them. These anomolies are contained whenever possible by the SCP Foundation, similar to the way the FBC works in Control. There are several thousand such documents on the "SCP wiki" which you can find online. It might be a little hard to find where to start if you're interested, so I'd suggest starting with an SCP-focused youtube channel like TheVolgun (dramatic readings of articles by a voice actor) or Detective Void (animated retellings of given anomalies through the lens of a fictional detective that investigates them).
The clip of Jesse when she clears the ashtray maze: "Okay, that was awsome." added at the end would've either have been just right, or stating the obvious.
It would kind of ruin the awesome surprise of getting an Old Gods Of Asgard’s song for first time players, though. Personally, I am so glad that the only pre-buying research I did was watching a Parasite Eve video that drew similarities between PE and Control.
I' ve never heard this level of a great song written to a videogame, never ,ever. And I have played a lot, over twenty years. This was next level of greatness, it felt awesome to play the mission where this song was played loud! So cool..
The Old Gods of Asgard are a heavy metal band that appear in the Alan Wake universe. Two of its members were known as the Anderson Brothers. The real name of the band who write and play the songs for the game are Poets of the Fall.
You mean songs in general or just music we can sing along? Cause if we talk about music in general there are A LOT of great musics, like Bloodborne boss themes, The Last Of Us Theme and Final Fantasy X Return to Zanark for example, but musics that we can sing along...yeah its quite rare i agree.
If you haven’t already, I highly suggest you play the first Alan Wake game as it contains two songs from the same band, with one of them being used during a particularly memorable set piece. Not to mention you also get to meet the Anderson Brothers in game.
@@wjrneo2 Yeah, the song was written for the game, but I was saying the video fit the song, not that the song fit the game. Just let me give OP a compliment would ya?
Really well done and certainly quite some work. Since there is no official music video to this song other than a rather uninspired lyrics clip, this should be the official video to the song.
The official video should be the level where it plays in game. It's composed perfectly for each scene. Even the combat scenes. The moment I stepped out of the maze, the song ended. And it didn't cut early either
Okay, you won! I'm doing one more playthrough of this game (but not right now, waiting for when my new GPU arrives, because my current one is as powerful as a cookie :))
Did you know that the in-game version is different? Depending on where you are, a different part plays. You know, like _literally shifting around segments_ ...?
Kiran Estevez, Jesse Faden and Emily Pope best hot female Federal Bereau of Control. I'm going to play Control for the fourth time at 100%, damn it, give us the curling Control 2 or at least the dlc to Alan Wake 2, the more Federal Bureau of Control the better.

I'm so hyped for control 2
Just looked it up, won't be out till 2027 at the latest
So it's official? Control 2 is coming in 2027?
Just beat the game for the first time, its awesome overall, great story and excellent character development. 9/10 overall
You have all my respect for doing this video, but most importantly, for playing the whole game with spin.

This is such a perfect video for this song. Really well put together.

@@High_Monk I'm a bit late, but I think they used some system so the song plays certain parts at each section
