Yes, Amber... you get it!!! I was a 2 turn-table DJ in the 80's (one of the 1st on the west coast). it was an era ALL ABOUT new creative sounds and musical acrobatics, hard hitting rhythmic beats and mastering the art of experimentation and turning noise into music at times. (see the groups named The Art of Noise and Kraftwerk, or Herbie Hancock's song Rocket to see what i REALLY mean by that). EVERYTHING was brand new in the 80's... the 70's was great but it was so analog; and acoustic. The 80's was a new electronic revolution in musical instruments, techniques, and sounds.... the birth of techno, synth-pop, new wave, and HipHop. All genres that no one had ever experienced before and being learned on the fly with no one to guide the artist, no teachers to teach the art, just raw instinct for sound and having FUN while doing it. Break Dancing, the Graffiti-Art, the Murals, the fashion, MTV, Max Headroom... all new and in rebellion to the standard methods of operation... and they fought back against it and lost the fight. Absolutely.

Killer groove. Same song was sampled for The Boogie Boys’ “A Fly Girl”. Gary “Mudbone” Cooper, one of the Sly Fox members, is listed as a songwriter for both tunes. “Let’s Go” was originally dropped in 1985 and stiffed. Then “A Fly Girl” was released and made the Bubbling Under chart. Then “Let’s Go” was re-released in early 1986 (under a different catalog number) and made the Top Ten.

Gary "Mudbone" Cooper was from Cincinnati where I grew up, and on the first solicitiation of this single, he appeared on a low-fi community radio station that I was also doing a trivia call-in show at; I didn't get to meet him but I was so impressed that he went there instead of one of the big Top 40 stations to promote it. When it finally became a hit (and got extra exposure from The Boogie Boys' "Fly Girl" single), I was so happy to have been on the ground floor of a national hit because of the luck of where I lived.

As a 57 year old Gen-Xer, all I can honestly say about 1980's music is that is was a " beautiful mess". You never knew what you were going to get, but you were there for it. I still love this song! Memories. To Amber, you actually accurately talked about an early (1980 -1983) "catch phrase". Hey, I may be old, but I can keep up with the parlance. The "catch phrase" was " I guess you had to be there".

1985...loved this song. I was in elementary school, and I remember walking across the playground at recess, humming this song to myself...that "bump-bump-cha" rhythm...with the "Let's go all the way" hook. Couldn't tell you the lyrics, I just remember the "yeah-yeah-yeah, let's go all the way"

I remember riding around in my best friend's Mustang blasting this on the radio. Loved the reaction. (I'm a subscriber to the movie channel and didn't even know you did music vids as well. Subbed.)

when I lived in San Diego in the 80s, we drove up to NBC studios in Burbank for a tour...at the end, they had offers for tapings of shows that needed audiences...We went for "Solid Gold", and these guys were there taping...it was fun seeing how they do retakes and banter with the audience...trivia they did one of those "Levi 501 Blues" ads in the 80s ;-)

A true ‘80s banger! Glad you guys discovered this song. An interesting little fact about “Let’s Go All The Way”: That beat was sampled from “Fly Girl” by The Boogie Boys, which was released about a year before this song, making “Let’s Go All The Way” one of the very few pop songs to ever sample a rap song, instead of the other way around.

Gary "Mudbone" Cooper from P-funk was in this duo, and Greg Jackson from Zapp played keys. A few years later The Boogie Boys used the beat for the Hip Hop song A Fly Girl.

This song was written and produced by Mudbone Cooper, that's the guy with the beret. Mudbone has been behind many great songs especially Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy's Rubber Band (the group he co-founded with Bootsy Collins), Parlets. And so much more, check out his music with Dave Stewart (FreshMud). And he is still very active today, right now he is recording a new album!!, I heard 2 raw unfinished tracks and wow, they are VERY GOOOD, but sorry can't say any more on that subject right now... Peace

Hi Jay and Amber! It's Andrew Erroch fae Paisley in Scotland here again. Another great one from 1984, although it was released in 1985 over here in the UK. I loved this track, and I bought the single. I guess they were kind of a one hit wonder, as I don't remember anything else they did... Æx 🙏 🤔
