Polyphia - G.O.A.T. [BASS COVER] (tabs on video)

- Clay Gober is beast.
Tuning: BEADG
Regarding the annotations on the tab:
- T: thumb (slap dead note)
- P: pull
- (7): natural harmonic, 7th fret
Precise rythm and good string muting are really important on this song, so I would recommend practicing really slow at first especially if you're not familiar with Clay Gober's hybrid picking technique and/or trap rythmic patterns.
Good luck!
Gear:
- Ibanez EHB1005-MS
- Line 6 HX Stomp
- EBS Reidmar 750 (preamp)

ERRATUM FOR THE TABS:
2:24 and 2:42: the pulled note is an E (7th fret) and not an F# (9th fret)
Any specific cover (or any other type of content really) you'd like to see on this channel?
Thanks for watching!
Could you do Panorama Panama Town- Rapture
F# still sounds alright, gives it a bit more urgency 😅
The bass part only hits like 5 notes yet manges to be mind-bogglingly complex through rhythm alone
This plec/ pick playstyle is so amazing.
Like the final solution when people like to slap but also want a clean tone.
Killer cover man. Respect.
My Bass Brother, this is an amazing cover. I will try to learn and cover this one after learning Goose thanks to your upload! Keep playing and best wishes from Germany!
That cover is just sick... Impressive job
I come back to this cover again and again! It’s amazing!
Excellent job. TABs for this are few and far between (and massively contradictory in most cases) this, as far as I can tell is flawless,
I'm a finger player myself but am going to teach myself slap for this song, (Only because I could never keep hold of a pick!) Don't suppose you have a written tab handy?
I need to format it, I can try to upload it when I have the time.
@@valouonbass3067 Hi, thanks for the reply. Please don't go to any trouble, I'm happy to keep just going over the video. This is epic level bass playing.
Ok, so 1 week on, its progress if a bit 'loose' in places. I'll keep trying. Thanks for the inspiration. ruclips.net/video/SVFSGQlya78/видео.html
Something about this baseline gives me a weird anxiety. It's like it never resolves in a satisfying way and opens up lines that it doesn't close, if that makes sense. Not a critique at all, that's probably what gives this song a lot of it's edge.
2:08 to 2:45 is fucking awsome
Incredible work 👏👏
This cover is as cool as your expression at 2:45 XD !
Damn. Great job my dude!
So glad I found this video🤌
Nice vid bro :D

Raw

Nice cover, curious about how you set your preset, just get my hx stomp recently
Thanks!
I have a clean path with a compressor for the low end, blended with a distorted high-end using the darkglass B7K emulation (called obsidian 7000 in the stomp iirc). The idea is to get a solid foundation for the "bass sound", and then add as much distortion on top as you need.
here before u bl,ow up
2:16
1:52 wth? even 0.25 slow i cant see this
How do you develop this style
Weed
Holy Moly... I thought Larry Graham and Flea were good bassists before listening to this.
