- This Both video clips show a 5.0 Fox with a stock motor, shorty headers, and catless 2.5 inch"H" pipe. In the "straight pipes portion, everything has been removed at the "H" pipe. The Flowmaster exhaust is 2.5 inch diameter with 40 series mufflers. For more info on the exhaust setups, please check out: premiumfuelmag.com/foxbody-str...

Man, that 302 is one of the sweetest musical instruments ever made by human hands.
Dearborn's symphony.
YES sir
Tears hearing it for 6mos a year. Crackling laughter the other 6
(opens craigslist on another tab)
Bruh. Serious.
Your not wrong
bro.... i was thinking the same thing xD!! i own a 2012 5.0 and believe me i love it all around but man i would love to have a foxbody too!
All the time
Lol exactly what I did.
Idk I might be oldschool but a fox body with Flowmasters is just how it should be,in my mind that's just the perfect sound for those cars. It's been over 20yrs and a fox body with some 40 series still gives me cold chills.
i'm still trying to get a good video of the x pipe sound
Premium Fuel Mag 40 series with an x-pipe is the way to go honestly. I know everybody uses them but there's a reason why. When it's just you riding around with the windows down n the radio off, there's no other way I'd want a Mustang to sound.
there's just something about the flowmasters on mustangs that just give you chills
Danny Martin Right there with ya man,I was in my teens/early 20's when fox bodies were in their hay day and every one you heard had Flowmasters and they all sounded great. That sound got engrained in my head as "this is how a Mustang is supposed to sound" I think that's why I still choose them on fox bodies today.
Same brotha
When I hear a 5.0 w/ FM coming down the block I'm at the window going.... Where is it!!!! Awesome sound.
This is the comment I love to see!! Because I am the same way. Also the reason I have a loud/nice exhaust so I can entertain people!!
@@Bignasty9891 i agree totally. What your saying, is not said enough. The sweet sound of a thumpy V8 never ceases to put a smile on my dial. Why not share that with strangers? Awesome.
You’re literally driving my dream car. Color and everything.
there's more out there.
I found 1 it's a bit rusty on the body though
I have a 85 svo with a 302.
I just found a 92 with a soft top, no rust, and less than 100k miles for $2000. Probably going to buy it next Monday. Should I keep you updated?
@@brettc5386 did you buy it?!?
I like how the ups man backed up in the beginning lol and the flowmasters sounds a lot better nice stang too
As a UPSer I’d do the same
The 302 and flowmaster original 40 is a match made in heaven. They were made for each other
Cap, I cut them off my car.
Who disliked this? Guys driving IROC-Z's? lol
gay people like rick rogers..
Pretty much 😂
Anyone with a brain who thinks flow masters sound like shit 😂
Straight pipes would sound much better with a big solid roller cam.
That whip at the end was a perfect finish, man.
Flowmaster way better sound
they sound more for street. I have some on my mustang gt
Ehhhhhhh not for me
Straight pipe sound cooler, but 40 series is the way to go for staying street legal.
@@LITTLE1994 what’s the difference between flow master 40s and 44s
@@dagoat5064 44s are slightly softer in rumble/rev noise.
Flowmasters definitely sounds much much better.
That sound those 40 series makes is the reason I've wanted one since I was a kid!. It's just heaven to me lol. Beautiful car good sir and thank you for sharing. 🙏🍻
Why do you need an audio unit, the real music is from the heart of the Fox. Great.
Chris Hack I know that's right I thought I was the only one that rather keep the radio off just to listen to my mustang exhaust note
I rushed to re do the entire sound system so i could jam out going to cruise week in Ocean city last year. I haven't used it since lol.
best sounding mustang ever made. next to the 03/04 terminator cobra
MrThermalUnderwear
The 4.6s are pretty sweet sounding too
That's what's in a 03-04 cobra lmao. Supercharged 4.6l.
Yeah for me those 4V 4.6 are first, the old pushrods are a close 2nd.
@@Xtremecarfan10188 2v's sound awesome to
Coyote sounds better hands down
I love the loudness of straight pipes, but they would get me pulled over every time I drove it. Better to go with the Flowmasters. That way you can keep the RPMs down and not get hassled by 5-O every time you wanna get a case of beer.
it all depends on your suspension. My suspension is actually extremely wide, my set up wouldn't work on another car.
Flowmasters don’t sound much different than straight piped just horrible and loud.
@@lonewolftech the straight pipes def sounded different. sounded like a barnyard pickup truck...not the classic 5.0/flowmaster sound
Have a 94 Cobra with a 306 crate motor. Had Borlas on there but found a good deal on a Flowmaster cat back. Wow 100 times better. That unmistakable 5.0L sound. Melts my heart 😍
Got video clips?
Premium Fuel Mag I need a good camera. But hopefully sooner than later 👍 Got a 66 Fairlane I put a fuel injected crate motor 5 speed it has Flows with dumps and an Xpipe. I'll put that one too..
Try a 98 cobra with loudmouth 1's and an off-road xpipe lol
@@tylerhubbell6410 sounds great at wide open throttle, especially at higher revs... Just awful the rest of the time 😅
Flowmasters are the only Mufflers for a FOX. Hands Down...
Antonio Vitullo i agree
I agree they should have came on em from factory that beautiful hollow sound ill never forget the first time i heard a fox with flows i was a kid and i couldn't forget that beautiful sound i kept asking people what exhaust it was ever since thats all i will buy thank you ford for the firing order and flowmaster for the beautiful sound perfect match
Agreed. My Fox has 3 Chamber cat back system
For '80s cars, yes.
Those flowmasters sound incredible on that 302
Bro just so you know since i found this video ive come back to this a million times just to hear your stang! Ive finally pulled the trigger and got full exhaust with the super 44's! Love it!
awesome, glad it helped you choose
Remember the first time I heard a 5.0 h-pipe setup. Blew bricks off buildings
Man, I'm glad you put those flowmasters on there.
that slide at the end fooled me, i forgot this was premium fuel mag, and this fox is full nerd car now. so sick
No matter what video audio can never even come close to the real life throaty sound ..makes me miss my '95 mustang w/ flowmasters & my cousins 91 w/ nitrous 😍
That was by far the best ending to a car/exhaust video I've ever seen! haha. awesome man.
once the diff is rebuilt, every vid will end with action!
Sounds cool! And thank You for keeping the video clean :)
we had the American Thunder exhaust on the 95 Cobra and the 98 Cobra...man did that exhaust sound good
My dad has a 5.0 with flow masters and it sounds great also nice 180 with the fox
nice foxbody. love the whip around at the end
Stay tuned, more of that to come!
Love the video man, I was looking for some good Mustang sound and I got a nice little fix from this LOL. Sounds great!!
Love that sound
I just bought a lm1 for my fox
Love that driving skill move at the end!
check out some of my actual drift videos!
Straight pipe that thing sounded scary, flowmasters sounded great too
20 years ago i had my first stang, a 95 gt with stock h pipe and muffler delete. Man it sounded great back then. Now i have 2 foxbodys, both with FM 40 series. I was thinking of switching one over to straight pipe but after watching this vid i think FM is the clear winner for a sweet sounding 5.0. Thanks for the excellent vid.
I'm surprised at how many people are taking this as a comparison. The straight pipes sounded horrible.
Awesome stang looks great love the sound .
That moment when you have a Mark VII and have to watch Fox Body videos for good exhaust sounds lol Great video! Not many give inside or acceleration views. Im doing 2.5 on my Mark...just need to decide on a muffler
most exhaust vids on RUclips consist of a gopro sitting next to the tail pipe, and the owner revving the car to 3k for 5 minutes and a vague description of the exhaust. Completely useless. I'm planning to build up an archive of different exhaust configurations for as many cars possible.
ChizAfterHours haha I'm in the same boat . Looking for best sound for my 90 lsc Se
Me too! Just put flowmasters on and deleted secondary cats. Thinking about what to do with the primaries 🤔
I think both sound really good.
I'm personally in love with the sound of straightpipes
Ya buddy! Love the 180.
Flowmasters and 5.0 Mustangs were made for each other
These old fox body 302s sound much better than new mustangs imo
Straight, I've deleted the mufflers on my Five.O, here on the other side i ain't paying for a Magnaflow or any other imported system it's way to expensive. I'm keeping it raw.
Sound is incredible the Fox Body with the push rod 5.0 was made for the Flowmaster The new coyote motor don't bring that sound even though they have much more stock horse power. I think the new Hemi engines are closest sound with Flowmaster to the old 5.0 fox body mustangs. Love the spin and take off you did at the end.
W.A.M Productions Inc the 5.0ho uses the 351w firing order and also has 4 inch bore and 3 inch stroke . Gives it the unique sound. The coyote is sweet and powerful but it has a smaller bore and longer stroke . It just doesn't sound the same
Flowmaster for the win they were originally designed around the mustang
Sweet car, sounds much better with the mufflers👍🏿
I love the Flowmaster 40s it's just perfect.... and the ending was kick@$$ by the way!
This is not even a competition. Flow masters sounds beast
I remember being young and see these car go down the road i was like when I get a car I want it to sound like that best sounding motor I ever heard
Sounds good either way to me, but that straight pipe does get old after awhile. Good looking hatch btw.
Flowmasters ftw! Sounds great with flowmasters.
The straight pipe sounds more raw but the flowmasters give the iconic sound it should have. Like the difference between raw talent and honed talent. Both are good but the flowmasters have the beautiful melody
Preferred the sound of the straight pipes. Nice Fox!
Flowmaster set up! 👍I have a 95 gt with H - pipe forty series flowmaster. Not the fastes but damn it sounds awesome.
Are those 4 or 5 lug wheels? & what lowering kit you got?
Love how UPS shows up with moar parts
Eeee love the throaty chambered sound of the 40s!!!!!
Straight pipes sounded sweet, and at least from my phone's audio, not that loud. The Flowmasters also sounded good. In terms of staying legal and real world, seat of the pants power, I think the FMs are the way to go
Great vid.
Can I buy a full full catback system with the 40 series? If so, where?
Flowmaster just sounds like someone blowing into a coffee can.
Thank you! They sound like shit! People boast in Flowmasters yet overlook good mufflers like maganaflow or slp
beautiful sound! what springs did you use to lower your car? I have a 1987 mercury cougar xr7 with the 5.0. I'm trying to use all fox body mustang parts, it's a freakin beast.but it needs lowering for sure.
The rear suspension is a 1999 SVT Cobra IRS with Steeda springs, Up front is Raceland Coilovers.
I knew that wasn't stock watching you spin it.
That's sounds bad ass! That's what I'm putting on my 90
This video is so american, when I was watching this video and a bald eagle flew and perched on my window here
Thats fuckin brutal both ways and you are a good driver bro !!! Just put some shorties on my punched out 351 going into 2 thrush mufflers ... Hoping to turn the key tomorrow
I hope you post some vids bro!
Nice Ending! !!
Check out my SETUP on my FOX❗

Flows make it sound like a clean healthy fox by the way clean ass stang bro
Nice video, thanks
Hey man I have a stock 1987 foxbody and want to straighjt pipe it from the x pipe back. Did you notice any power loss from the straight pipes compared to the flows?
you should do fine with straight pipes, I was running open down pipes, so it didn't feel too good.
are they equal length or un-equal length headers?
I jus got a foxbody. Is it just the 40 series you changed
Straight pipes sound best, but 40 series is the way to go to prevent cops from stopping you and still have a relatively aggressive sound. Do the Crown Victoria and Mustang of that same era had the same 5.0L Windsor?
(I have the exact same Flowmasters in my '89 Crown Vic LX)
yes, all of the 5.0 motors are pretty much the same. There are some slight differences between years, and the Lincoln had the intake mounted in the opposite direction, but they're all the same.
@@Sgt.Slides I knew the Panthers all along were basically heavier 4 door counterparts to the Mustang with rather slightly less output and RPM in comparison. No wonder why the Vic was so handy to the police. But I did heard those kind of Mustangs were once used for a short time.
Really cool.
I need to do this with my all 3 of my Fox Body's..I have a 1990 SSPTX DPS/HiWay Patrol car which I bought NEW ,UNUSED & UNPURCHASED BY THE STATE..THEY BACKED OUT LAST MINUTESINCE THEY WERE BOTH MANUALS BUT I HAVE FULL Tx DPS Livery,Spotlights,Black Phone Dial rims with Stainless center caps..41x coded car...No options but AC. AM RADIO,Red Cloth interior & as I DID say there were 2 and I got both. Still have the 12gauge dash rack and strobes except they are all clear.I have 135amp Alternators,Heavy duty floor panels,Subframe connectors,Completely different suspension,All hosescare blue silicone,Giant Radiator with back-up fan,Engine oil cooler,,manual trans oil cooler which also came from Ford with a Engine oil cooler. TREMEC TKO 5 Speed with a HD clutch & a damn Billet Flywheel!!! AND 3.73s...One has just under 60,000 miles but my favorite of the two has UNDER A 1000 ORIGINAL MILES!! THE CAR GOES TO FORD TWICE A YEAR FOR FULL MAINTENANCE!!!! OH THEY BOTH ALSO HAVE ONE KEY THAT FITS EVERYTHING,THE TRUNK HASXA QUICK RELEASE WITHIN INCHES OF TGECSTEEERING WHEEL.THE TRUNKS BOTH HAVE A SPRING LOADED AR-15 holders on the bottom of the deck lid,Heavy duty 1st aid kits with Narcan"exp" needles, lidocain and sutcher string for stitches along with scissors for cutting cloth and a tool that cuts seatbelts and shatters glass..We paid $15,000 Flat Out the door from Victoria Texas Ford. They have full blck & white livery with spot lights. It was an easy sell for me but they had the cars almost 10 months andonly people that ever looked at tgem were peoole buying a regular GT. or such and found them interesting.Ohhh they have 2 tiny fire extinguishers "thatvneed replaced.I have been offered insane money for BOTH of them...Not together but to be 100 with people ive been offered $100,000 for my low mileage example and #s keep getting bigger!! I do have 2 other...both of them are LX Coupes as well but not SSP OR 41X Coded build sheet cars, but they are cool and each have unique build specs..One is a 92 I got new on Silver with Red inteeior..Its not a dark red almost maroon as ibe seen in the variations...but its a very bright red, like my SSP and it is VERY HEAVILY BUILT! Its had a full 2016 Coyote swap with a T6060 manual 6 speed withna aluminum veey unique driving Billet Aluminum flywheel which revs SOOOOO fast and PULLS SOOOOO HARD. ITS VERY DIFFERENT But I love it.The motor is magical in a Fox!!! and my last one is a 1993 I had completely disassembled down to a shell...Media blasted and I had a tubular front K-Member along with the COMPLETE FRONT END..ITS ALSO ALL POWDER COATED & ZINC PLATED ..The bottom of the car is beautiful..I have Hotchkis rear HP Control arms..The rear end is still an 8.8 BUT its a IRS made for the Fox and even went with 4.56 gears since im running a XS flat plane 5.2 Voodoo engine and 2.97 litre Supercharger..The paint os HOC CANDY COBALT PEARL BLUE METALLIC WITH FULL CUSTOM"BUT IT LOOKS HIGH END FACTORY" BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR WITH A custom REAR SEAT DELETE AND IT HAS POLISHED ALUMIN PANELS WITH AREAS OF Diamond stitched black leather ...Im really tired. Its 3:30am.Id love to give even deeper details but there is so much to these builds...If you any specific questions...Please just ask ....id happily tell u any info you desire to know...I must call it a night though... .
Sounds like you have some seriously amazing foxes! That VooDoo is my dream motor. I would love to throw one in my BMW! lol. So you are in Victoria? It's not likely, but if I am ever around, i'd love to come check those out.
The straight pipe sounds awesome is not to loud and not to quite it sounds perfect but the flow master sounds less rumble and muscle
So sick
Both have a nice note; although I do prefer the quality tone of the Flowmasters.
Me to I like the Flows. Except I have the SUPER 10s mine!!
ruclips.net/video/B9ON5Cn8nUs/видео.html
SWEET STANG!!!
You have catalytic installed?
Fox and flowmaster ftw
where did you get those tail pipes? and also is there any for sn95's
It's just a standard flowmaster set up. This car has the 04 cobra version because if the independent rear suspension.
what's the best sound for a automatic fox?. My bro has bbk shorty headers and bbk offroad x pipe.
So far, I only have straight pipe and flowmaster 40 + H pipe. We're currently doing another 5.0 with bbk shorties, X pipe, and flowmaster 40's It's also a 5 speed car. Transmission won't make a difference in sound quality, you just won't have the crisp change of pitch when changing gears. Hopefully we'll have the other exhaust vid soon.
I'm still running the stock H pipe. We threw an X pipe on my dad's fox, and honestly it doesn't sound as good
Remote cutout's are the trick ' best of both worlds
Thanks for keeping the old school mustang alive. I'm not really a fan of the 2005 and newer.
This car is actually quicker than an 05, and it's stock!
Flowmaster sounds better. Can u post or send me a picture of the Flowmaster mufflers that's in it.thanks
Shit that’s a beast sounds so good
Much better tone with the Flowmasters in my opinion.
Straight pipes sound just like my car right now😂😂
Nice car
Those 40s make that 50 sound damn good
40’s sound much better
Edit: nice spin skipping in and out of that driveway. 👌
Flowmaster for the win!
Need to run flows on all these new cars
Nice Pony, sweet concerts either way., but the Flows sound a bit better. (smile) I'm running a 347 Stroker(custom cam) button up to a AOD (rebuilt of course) w/BKK shorties down through a X-pipe on through to MAC mufflers/ exhaust in a 3" pipe(s) out back. Car not finish yet, but I'm almost ready to put up a vid. N-E-Who.., nice Pony you have, and sounds great. (No better concert to listen to than to hear a 5.0 in any capacity running low tunes through some duals...
I'd love to hear a good sound bite of the x pipe.
Premium Fuel Mag, as soon as I get finish with the car, I'll work on posting.
I hate how airy the exhaust sounds on idle with the mufflers
Careful, that car can get "Squirrely", they do BEST by keeping them straight, less wear on that nice "Posi". Nice Video !
Flowmasters all the way brother!
A well tuned exhaust system sounds a lot better and hollow pipes welded together.
Can you tell me your setup? Heads, headers, x or h pipe
stock with h pipe.
I bought a flowmaster system for my fox with a bbk h pipe. I’m afraid it’s just going to be to quiet for my likings.
Where can i buy this
