Just trying to decide between 11 inch iPad Pro and 12.9 inch iPad Pro. Do you feel the 12.9 slimmed down enough to be portable and flexible to bring with you wherever you go. Or is the 11 inch IPad Pro the best way to go?

About the ipad 11 inch it's easy to bend is it durable enough for day to day use + carry in our bag ?
I want an ipad that in middle range like 10.5 inch not slow not too modern and I can get 256g with the price of 11 inch ipad dont want to spend too much money on the new ipad ... so what do you think? I just do casual things with quality device 🤔 will 10.5 future proof ? or should i wait and save up alittle more for the 11inch ipad ? Sorry this is alot but I really cant decide please help 😅

As a student who have used the iPad 9.7 (2018) for taking notes for 4 months none stop (and sold it and upgraded to the new 12.9”), I recommend the regular iPad. The new iPad Pros are nice but I don’t think they are worth it. The new pencil’s tap feature is actually annoying since it keeps switching between writing and erasing unintentionally more often than you think when you actually use for an extended period of time (I disabled that feature). The 120hrtz screen is nice but it doesn’t justify the price. The 9.7 is light and is the perfect size for taking notes, studying in your bed if you want to, and everything else. Of course I can only speak from my experience with the 12.9” as the 11” might be a different story. As a side note, I also bought the keyboard and it makes the iPad Pro so much more heavier and unwieldy when using it on your bed (or pretty much anywhere you don’t intend to type) Hopefully this helps someone out.

Thanks it helped be but can u tell me one thing, if I put my palm on the display while writing does it cancel that touch and only take the apple pencil input effectively, also should I consider buying a 3rd party cheaper stylus rather than the apple pencil (would the cheaper stylus still support the palm touch dandelion thing), my main intention is to write notes

    • @victor_ylap
      @victor_ylap 5 лет назад +13

Agni Bhattacharyya yes you can rest your palm the way you normally would while writing. It has great palm rejection. Unfortunately I’ve only use the pencil from the start so I’m too sure about 3rd party styluses. I’d assume as long the 3rd party stylus connects via Bluetooth it would have the same palm rejection (because once the stylus is connected, that acts as the main way to write, while your fingers acts as a simple touch to scroll through your notes).

Sticking with my iPad Pro 10.5”.
-A10X is extremely powerful as it is and this iPad still runs on iOS. No difference in software if you upgrade.
-Screen size is perfect for me.
-I prefer Touch ID 2nd generation than Face ID. Period.
-I think the 10.5” is way sexier. I mean, the small size of the bezels never gets old.
-Headphone jack. 2018 Pros removed it.
-Both have 4GB RAM and I would never need 1TB of storage on an iPad, so I’m not spending a ton of money for it mainly to get 6GB RAM. And the reason the 1TB model has 6GB is for storage management. And apparently, people are noticing the 1TB models are slower than the others.
-The Apple Pencil 1st generation is better in my opinion.
-The Smart Connector is in a more logical place in my opinion.
-iOS 12 brought the new gestures to all compatible iPads.
    -OIS
-Cheaper (Even though I don’t care for that one seeing how I already have a 10.5” Pro.)
-All apps have to be updated to the new 11” and 12.9” screens.
-The 10.5” has an equally amazing display. (Don’t get me wrong, they upgraded the display on the new Pros but it’s definitely not going to get me to spend $800 on it)
-The Lightning Connector. I personally like it better. A lot.
There’s more, don’t get me wrong (Like the fact the 2018 Pro’s are so much less durable) But I highly doubt anyone will read this whole thing so, for now, that’s all I’m going to say.
If you’ve read this whole thing, have an amazing day!!

Ali Kefou I never said once the 2017’s are better. I’m not trying to convince myself. But, yes, there are some things the 2017 models are better at. For example: not being so easy to breaking or bending. Also, they don’t arrive to you bent. And you’re actually wrong. I wouldn’t choose the new one. You have no say in what I would choose or what I wouldn’t. I personally prefer the 10.5” and you can’t tell me that I can’t like it because the 2018 Pro is better. It’s not better for everyone.

After about 10 days of use I returned my 11” and bought a 10.5”. I prefer the 10.5” for the following reasons: 1) Headphone jack because I use wired headphones constantly; as many pros do. 2) Better camera for video because of OIS. 3) Apps work great across the board; it will be a while before all my apps get upgraded to the 11” odd aspect ratio. 4) The curved casing has superior structural strength to the 11” square edges...it’s noticeable. 5) 11” had a lot of USB-C bugs causing network dropouts and camera failures requiring reboot. It’s the first iOS device with USB-C and seems rushed. 6) The expensive curved edges on the display quickly seem like a gimmick. Cool at first but you actually pay more and lose information density. For pros working in a mission critical environment I recommend waiting out this generation. Stick with the refined quality of the 10.5”. If you are just buying for home media consumption the 11” may be OK if you only use wireless headphones.

Also, watch how easy the new iPad was bent on JerryRigEverything channel. Don't listen to this Apple Insider guy, get the 10.5 or save even more money and get the 9.7 instead

    • @luged

2018 iPad 6th gen is still best bang for your buck for the average user. I’m a techie and love the latest and greatest, but I had to step back and realize I don’t do any technical and demanding work on an iPad. It’s a media device for me and the 2018 iPad fits the bill perfectly
You get the space grey and black bezels and you can’t even notice the screen being non-laminated unless you go out of your way to try and look for it

  • @rafaelgonzalez6158
    @rafaelgonzalez6158 5 лет назад +379

Well I cannot agree with you. You are recommending to people to buy a 799+taxes iPad. That price is insane. You can get a IPad Pro 10.5 inch for 500 bucks in sale. Face ID, a slightly better camera on the 2018 iPad Pro don’t make it worth that kind of money. The faster processor is without any doubt an improvement but unless you are a graphic designer you won’t see any difference with the 10.5 iPad Pro.

I had a 2017 12.9 inch iPad, loved the display and the speakers and all. Bought it to give online lessons and to compose. I later found out that there aren’t many good apps in the AppStore for musicians and composers (Avid please come to your senses and bring Sibelius to iOS!) and that’s when started to feel the lack of purpose for my Pro model. Bright spots along the edge where the smart connecter is started to show up after a year. Bothered the crap out of me but my mom didn’t really mind since they weren’t as apparent when you’re staring straight at the screen, so I gave the iPad Pro to her and bought a 2018 iPad. Sure it only has 2gb of ram, sure there’s the air gap (which isn’t really noticeable if you pick space gray because the bezels are black), sure the speakers sound sad. But it’s light, it’s small, and most importantly, it doesn’t hurt as bad when I accidentally drop it on my face when using it in bed. I still get to teach my students online while I’m away, and I still get to use my Apple Pencil. If you’re not going to be doing professional tasks such as video editing or drawing/sketching that require a powerhouse like the iPad Pro, go for a regular ol’ iPad, it can handle pretty much all the everyday tasks. Your wallet will thank you.

Elliona Li these bright spots around the smart connector that you referred to on the 10.5… Did you use the smart connector a lot? Getting my iPad pro 10.5" (2017) today. I see why the new iPad is prohibitive but for the price isn't justifiable to me, atleast. Truth be told is that regardless of the new features being introduced into every new iPad pro that debuts, these are only temporary distinguishing features for Apple to coerce you to purchase the new model.

You can have a 10.5 pro for 500-600$ and it's still better tahn the new 6th gen 2018. The new 11 pro doesn't worth the price, for so little improvement.

I’m debating between the 9.7 inch iPad or the 10.5 iPad Pro. Im going to be using the iPad for almost entirely drawing with the Apple Pencil in procreate so I’m worried about the parallax (space) between the pencil and the display and the speed of the pencil, but I’m not completely sure it’s worth paying almost $300 more for it. Plus there’s going to be so many other features that I won’t really ever need on the pro. What do you guys think?

Given that, is the processing power of the 9.7'' iPad good enough for heavy gaming such as rhythm games on the long run? I have the capacity to buy the 11'' Pro but I'm just not sure if it's necessary and if it's going to be a waste since I won't even touch the Pencil. I'm looking for a tablet that'll last me long into the future. I'm between the 9.7", the 11", and waiting for the 2019 iPad.

Aniruddha Jain get the 2018 iPad Pro because of the USB-C you can have more connectivity to make presentations and the new gestures on it with the Apple Pencil is much easier to take faster notes and you won’t have that awkward thing were the first gen Apple Pencil is just sticking out of your iPad waiting to snap off

There is not much difference between ipad prp 10.5 and 11. But there is large price difference. Choose wisely.

There is much difference with the 11 inch and 10.5 inch it’s like saying there is no difference between the iPhone 8 and iPhone 10

Would love to buy it with an Apple Pencil. I’m planning on going paperless using good notes/notability! In the near future since I’ll be starting college soon

Build quality on ipad pro 2018 is sooo poor that it bends sooo easily.
    Still prefer 10.5 ipad pro.

This is just an ad for the new iPad Pro. When you compare the specs to the 2nd gen, there’s not enough of a difference for spending the extra 500 dollars. For digital art, they both do the same thing and don’t let that little “benchmark graph” for the cpu fool you because that and the camera are really the only things that have been modified slightly.
