I remember the first time i saw this movie and how utterly blown away i was by her performance. I cant imagine anyone else playing that role better. Every acene she was in she stole. Just amazing.
yes,she was an extremely vibrant actress throughout the movie, and despite all the age changes. i found her character to be an underlying current during the movie. it was a pleasure to watch her, cate blanchett, and brad pitt perform.
I saw it on Christmas Day. Just so beautiful. No other word could do. Brad was great/Oscar... Taraji needs an Oscar too. You should see it if you have not. A Classic.
I can't wait to go see this movie! I have been watching Taraji since Baby Boy, I saw potential in her in that film...I think she played that role extremely well. Its funny because I was preparing to see this movie and I didn't know Taraji was in it... but now I'm even more excited to see it!
The message of the entire movie was summed up when: He tells Daisy that "it's a shame that things change"....& She replies "some things NEVER change"...
a common theme for winners: British accents (The Queen and many movies like that bore people). gay males in movies(Milk, Brokebackmountain)..decent acting but not the best compared to some that wasnt even nominated.
4 sho..black people always getting snubbed at oscar time except for a few exceptions lets mention a few over the yrs. Denzil washington Malcom X, somany from denzil i cant remeber. he is the most consistant good actor of our day.Morgan Freeman Lean on me(not even nominated), the bucket list (jack nicholas good inthat one too),laurence fishburne, and C. gooding jr boyz in da hood, don cheadle hotel rwanda and talk to me, terrence howard hustle taraji henson hustle and flow.
The studio took advantage of her by knowing that Black actresses are desperate for "quality" integral roles. She asked for 500k in pay and I think she got a disgraceful 50k, after paying off irs and assistant, less than 30k...I wish she could have sued them. Brad Pitt and Blanchett received millions.
the common theme: if give a oscar worthey perfomance and you a play a role about black culture ie. struggles in black life (boyz in da hood, lean on me), civil rights (malcom X, Hotel Rawanda) you are not likely to win. unless you get pressure from media ie. Jamie in Ray, J hudson Dream girls. a few blacks have had oscars to keep NAACP out of that bias mess.. but many many many snubs

When she died in the movie I cried my eyes out she played a mother role that we can all relate too that one mom raising her kid on her own
My throat still get heavy every time I watch that, what an amazing master piece.
She is the heart of this movie. Deserves Oscar nom!! Queenie's just somebody you have to love -- regardless of anything!
She should have won the Oscar for this performance!
Olly4Ever no way she sucks
John Nodoe Nah, you suck!!!
@@bornyesterday2994 you're an idiot
She was good but the other four nominated actresses are better, specially Amy Adams and Viola Davis both nominated for Doubt.
13 years later guess she made it
Without Taraji in this film it wouldn't have been good!!!!This girl TRULY showed her acting ability I was VERY impressed!!!!
If she actually played reality, she would be abusing him because blx women have a history of abusing old defenseless white men when no one is looking
She was over the charts an amazing actress

She got nominated for an Oscar! Congratulations to her!
This comment is 15 years old!! That is wild!
One of the most beautiful women I have seen!

Taraji is and was the best part of this film. Hard to say due to me not liking her much. But she killed it and deserves the OSCAR, period.
I have seen Taraji twice. With a Q&A for S.A.G members. She was very good and I hope she wins.
I love, I adore this movie and Queenie is the best thing of the movie.
she looks good for 42
that was a good movie... strange but good
She was perfect and a first rate actress.... her performance was great. But we know that Penelope did a great job in Vicki Cristina Barcelona.
I can't wait to go see this movie! I have been watching Taraji since Baby Boy, I saw potential in her in that film...I think she played that role extremely well. Its funny because I was preparing to see this movie and I didn't know Taraji was in it... but now I'm even more excited to see it!
One of my favorites still watching it in 2024
YOU LOOK LIKE YOU BEEN BORN AGAIN.....LOVE IT!
Everything appeared to be oddly nice in this movie. Never get bored in repeating it.
she is an incredable actress
I love taraji since her acting in hustle and Flow, my good she's Everything
Her first movie was baby boy
@@blasianluvschocolate397 but hustle and Flow makes me rallin live with her
@@dolphiiar4286 that's what's up
i hope this movie wins the oscar over slumdog. its just pure magic and the embodiment of great american film-making. i think its an instant classic.
Loved Taraji in "Hidden Figures" - wonderful actress.
Did you notice -- her love interest in Hidden Figures is also in Benjamin Button ! I just noticed that while watching this RUclips vid !! 😲
She deserves recognition for this and more
Yeah! She is a legend!
I love that reaction 4:06, greetings from Venezuela.
I didnt have a clue that was Brad Pitt until Taraji mentioned it
Dan Osanu do u remember writing this ??
Taraji Henson was the whole show and the others were just faking it, great job Taraji!!!
saw the movie last night. it was FANTASTIC. truly epic.

how did they make him look so small?
Wow. I remember seeing the trailer but not the movie. I like some of the scenes I have seen.
You never know what is coming for you
You know this movie made an impact on you when you carry it for 15 years
the movie was amazing...luved it!!! and taraji did such a great job :)!
Can't wait to see it
COMPUTER GENERATED!
i know right? looks interesting
Now this looks like a awesome movie :D

Your point being......
You can tell she did not like playing this role because they payed her so little
They robbed her. I haven't seen it yet because of how she was treated
To make it even worse, when they were on location shooting they made her pay for her own hotel fees
she needs an oscar for the color pirple
amazing movie- amazing acting
where cn i see tiz full movie??
Please upload this full move
It's on RUclips already.. search for it
After seeing this, baby boy was beneath her.
I don’t know about that. You can say this was good but I don’t know why baby boy is somehow lower class product for her

It was a great film but taraji's part reminded me of a mammy role...
I haven't seen it coz of her low pay. And I read about it. W people love making up fantastical stories about B people.
The studio took advantage of her by knowing that Black actresses are desperate for "quality" integral roles. They originally wanted Beyonce for Taraji's part but they knew she wasnt doing it for six figures. Thats why they used Taraji.
@@kendall7086 Taraji was racistly paid five figures.
If you hate Taraji, you my friend are the problem.
I’m here because of Wendy Williams lol
And she only made $ 40K while others wer paid millions :-/
tell me about it! A lot of wrongs need to be corrected in Hollywood!
