Dominique is wrong about needing another device to use Airpods Pro as hearing aids. My wife uses them to watch TV. The transparency feature allows sound to be picked up through the mic on the pods and amplified and processed by the Pods. They work great.
There is another feature called conversation boost. It boosts the conversation from the mic of the AirPods Pro itself. So, if someone don’t want to use an iPhone for Live Listen, they can use that feature.
Although the Live Listen is a good feature but requires the company of an Iphone, I think you failed to mention the main "hearing aid" feature which is be extremely useful to a (mild to moderate) hearing-impaired person: Transparency mode. You also did not mention the capability to import an actual audiogram which will improve the accuracy of the improvements.
Looking for some help if possible. Got this setup for my dad (using 3rd generation AirPods) and Live Listen works but it picks up his voice as well through the mircophone and causes an echo/reverb, which makes it unusable. Is there any way it can negate his own voice being fed back to him please?
I was able to set AirPods Pro 2 to use as hearing aids. They worked well for about three hours. After this they would only work one at a time. Each one would work if they were the only one in, but then stop working when both were put in. I followed all the instructions from Apple Support online although they pointed out three times in a short period that they are not sold for hearing aids. They were uninterested in helping me once I told them I wanted to use them as back up hearing aids. Very disappointing.
It would be one more step in a new, more humane direction. AirPods not only for work/fun or even social isolation, but as a bridge to the people around you (better voice recognition and live translation) and a health assistance (better hearing or better sleep with special anc). Apple has the chance to push their work and devices in service to people (all people, not only a fraction). I believe that more of the IT giants should follow this direction and some of them do that. However, to see airpods or sony/samsung (...) as Healthcare devices, they need a new design and much better battery. Also, some serious amount of courage and leap of faith into the darkness of not so well explored world. If they follow their typical policy, this stage would take some years or decades. On the other hand, if they go radical and push down the wall of all past decisions, maybe we will be able to get not only just new devices, but devices which will help us to become new type of human beings with new opportunities ahead of us.

They damage your ears with them so you’ll have to buy their products later. For example they took out the volume limiter that was in their old software and left us with some boot leg notification. Now when you accidentally blast the volume of your Ear pods there is no limit, you screw your ears quick.

I did not believe that after the whole FTX drama there's any good to get this year but Amazons *AMK29X* proved otherwise. Bad timing maybe but it's a great adoption to get this more to the mainstream and raise awareness. Probably a high contender for a top 100 growth
