Ah! A classic Bretonnian build where 5 units do all the killing and the rest of the army does all the dying - all's right with the world!
But on a serious note it's reassuring to see that elite BRT can still pull their weight against a Game3 faction. The fears of powercreep were real.
Bretonnia are virtually the IG of Warhammer Fantasy, where they rely more on their cavalry, than their infantry. I too feared that Bretonnia would not be able to hold up, as they are my favorite faction to play. They are the every man faction, the average joe, fighting along side noblemen on horseback, and I sincerely thought the peasants and foot squires would not be able to hold a candle to any of the new factions. I do hope to see some dismounted knights in the future, as the tabletop Bretonnia, was never truly fleshed out.
As one of the hyper small minority of Alberic fans, it's great to see him shine in game 3. Campaign wise his new start will be great fun too.

I said it again and again but i will repeat myself, i don't understand why hippogryph knights doesn't have the trait "living saint" like any other grail units, CA put hippogryph knights in the "grail vow" category but they don't get bonus from Bretonnia tech tree regarding grail vow units nor do they get magical attacks, they got big ass spear imbued with magic which aren't considered magical its so weird
I think they did not include the trait so as not to make them op

They're royal hippogryph knights....they should be OP. They are basically the dark angel's deathwing of wh fantasy. How do you balance OP? Make them cost a fortune
@@sawyeratkinson Grail Knights in general are heroes whose presence on the battlefield should strike fear and awe. Put them on hippogryphs and they should make an enemy player take them mighty seriously.
Peasants forced to fight ogres, lose hundreds of their family and friends to a few dozen giant fat guys. PTSD, concussions, major injuries, etc. Nobles will get all the credit.

Man I don’t know why but I’m just getting so hyped for everything that warhammer 3 is bringing to the table amazing map amazing reworks for old and new lords and factions the first dlc on its way witch already looks amazing the fan base is actually happy I’m just so hyped for what this series is gonna bring out over the next 4 or 5 years against another great video man keep it up

I'm frothing at the mouth for Nurgle chosen with healing and for the Blood DLC with valkyrie the bloody when she comes out with immortal empires. Defiantly my first campaign will be the slaughter queen.
Also really hyped to have my friends dive into a game where we all pick chaos factions and go full scorched earth across the mega map.
@@zacharysain8516 I do find it abit funny that the community has done a complete 180 on the game now all off a sudden CA is the best the game looks awesome there the same people that lost heart in the game and labelled the game a waste off money personally myself I never lost faith in it I always knew when IE came out it was going to be unbelievably good the dlc secured that for me obviously there confident iff there dropping a dlc along side it
@@iforgotmyname1669 same here khorne has always been my favours chaos faction but I seem to always enjoy playing slannesh the most right now me and all my friends are setting for one big mega campaign.
The good thing is we all like our different factions on my first play thru I’ll either play vilich or azazel because there to me are gonna be the most interesting and then half my friends will play chaos along side me either daemons or warriors and the other half will play the order factions but we’ve decided that no one should play like high elves because who what’s to roll up on turn 140 to be met with a full stack off Phoenix gaurd and sisters off averlorn.
But I think it’s gonna be sick in a campaign scenario to fight your freind who’s kislev holding back againts let’s say the plague ride off nurgle or your other friend who’s Cathay holding back the seducers off slannesh obviously gonna have loads off solo campaigns but I’m just so hyped for everything coming out and man the dlc’s are going to be Insane I really hope chaos dwarfs ain’t overpowered tho because that’s gonna make the dark lands a major painnn

Basic changes like that takes CA about 5 years to implement if any. Kinda like Grombrindal getting terror routed all those years.

I knew stonehorns were large, but I didn't really put it into perspective until that charge at 5:12. I'm used to seeing them in relation to ogres and demons, so seeing them alongside normal humans really makes them look larger.

The Stonehorn did so much damage on the charge because the charge was aimed at the unit behind it you dont need a stonehorn to do so much damage. Enticity did a vid about it.
I finally manage to use chariots effectively because of this trick. I love it
God damn man just look at how epic this shit is. Like could we have imagined this six years ago or whatever when the game first launched? We thought it was nuts then, what about now? Just insane. IE is going to be something super special when all is said and done.
Game still needs a bit of fine tuning I reckon but yeah it's shaping up decently.

Really hoping for a Bret dlc with Bohemond as the LL and Calard of Garamont as a unique paladin hero. If ya don’t know who Calard is he’s the main character in a trilogy of books set in Brettonia. Really good book series

@@chilliewhk yeah course. It’s called Knights of Brettonia: The Omnibus. £15 on iBooks for the whole lot. Tells the story of the young noble Calard as he moves up the ranks of knighthood. Gives you a really good look at the world of Brettonia from both the noble and peasant perspective
Great showcase of how Bretonnia is such a well designed faction. Their playstyle perfectly fits their philosophy and lore.
This is pretty much the Bretonnia build my wife was considering after the first match dropped: Beastslayers, elite cavalry, and an air corps. Nice to see her instincts were on point.
That stonehorn head is going to look mighty impressive mounted on Alberic's wall.
This was actually awesome. Hyppogryphs are simply awesome, i always enjoy games when they are on the field.

If you use a big monster like stonehorn and aim two clumped up units, aim at the one who is a bit behind, if you do that , when monster enters charge animation it will act as a huge chariot until it reaches the unit it aims for, so if that is slightly behind, the unit in front gets run over taking max damage on each model. Thats how that stonehorn got so many kills in one charge.

Wouldn't archers with poison/fire be better? since game 2, they removed friendly fire application of poison so you don't risk poisoning your own, and in game 3, fire damage reduce healing. Sounds like good debuffs for the price.

Just started watching. Two of my favorite factions in Fantasy for different reasons- I gotta pull for Bretonnia here as the massive underdogs tho
While this fight stands on its own merits the literature nerd in me feels the need to talk about how Ogres vs Bretonnia IS pretty much the original Arthurian matchup. While Dragons have kind of come to be the classical foe of heroic Knights, in truth there are very few Dragons in Arthurian myth, almost all the monsters slain by the Knights of the Round table are some variant of Giant or Ogre.
While the Matter of France shifted in tone somewhat to fighting Saracens and dragons started to pick up steam, Ogres are still predominant in that myth cycle as well.
In short this is THE most true to OG source material lore matchup in the game.

The Stonehorn charge hits extra hard if you charge the unit behind the target, because it maintains momentum for impact damage against little guys.

I've always felt that cavalry with lances should have a bit of an AP bonus when their charge bonus is active. Would make them a lot effective when cycle charging.
Lances should be armour piercing. That's literally the entire point of a lance basically. Concentrate all the force of a charge into a single point to punch through the thick armour of opposing knights. Apparently in Warhammer, they're using jousting lances with blunt tips.

I think that they should have an increase in AP when their charge bonus is active to replicate the impact of a horse and rider (particularly units with heavy lances like Bretonia or the Empire). Whereas units with warhammers or poleaxes etc should have a slightly smaller AP bonus all the time.
It's frustrating to see a unit of knights slam into the back of some heavy infantry and not do very much.
But from what I understand, the charge bonus does increase AP, as it increases the weapon strength by Tbd charge bonus: splitting between normal damage and ap damage is the basic unaltered weapon strength proportion.
Charge bonus/impact damage is mostly ap.

Aaah, Alberic w/aoe bvL, life, and ap Knights, Louen with heavens debuff and non-ap Knights, repanse with beasts and grail reliquae peasants against vampires. And morgiana in the trash can for being meta. The old ways, the chivalrous and non-toxic, where opponents thank you if you manage to beat them. That's what I've been waiting for!!

I wonder how a trebuchet would fare here. Ogres are huge targets, and trebs are already used against demigryph knights, so I guess that could be a suitable matchup for them.
My two favorite armies. I own both armies, but my Ogors are AoS. TWWH always makes me remember how pretty my army was on parade. Poor boys have atrophied in a box somewhere though.

I think what happened with the rediculous charges is that when you target a unit behind another unit, the charge animation will do contact damage all the way through the unit in front doing absurd damage while the unit they actually targeted they'll stop halfway through.

Bretonnia NEEDS new units. At least two horse archer units (lvl 3 and lvl 4), one half decent melee infantry and at least two monsters. It’s the most one dimensional faction in the game. You play like a 100 turns, get absolutely sick of them and never touch them for like half a year.
Do a Dwarf vs something video to show off Dwarf Rune Magic and how it holds up with the Winds of Magic changes
Alberic does seem like the ideal lord for this fight. his own and the aura of anti large is useful enough, but something I didn't see this game was his tidecall effect. It doesn't help with ogres themselves much, but it could've cleared out a lot of gnoblar chaff. Here it would've helped if the beastslayers had the gnoblars cleared so they could jump onto the ironguts earlier.
Could we see any siege battles? Have they made changes to places like Altdorf, Karak Eight Peaks, or the Elf Gates?

The peasants were wiped clean off charge, because the models were clumped together and they were facing the wrong way, without bracing for the charge. If you look at the angle they were positioned at, you should see it quite obviously.

This game made me think the rumors about dwarves struggling in domination. I think they might be good against Ogres in domination. The difference in speed is reduced, dwarves want to fight Ogres from range, and a lot of staple dwarf units like slayers will fulfill their role to full effect.
Maybe dwarves v ogre domination to test this theory?
Even thinking about the stonehorn gyro gyrocopters are a great way to force the stornhorn all the way of the battle...once it has been effected by psychology of course and while that is a big caveat it seems most battles the easiest way to deal with the stonehorn is to inflict psychology as it's not going to die
seems ogre armor is like ork tech in 40k: they are heavily armored because they believe they are
I never realized Warhammer Ogres were that big... like I knew they were big, but that is absolutely horrifying.
Really wish CA would fix the mount and rider colour matching for Bretonnia. The Beastslayers of Bastonne should be yellow and red and they are messed up too.

How much are leadbelchers priced at compared to the scraplaunchers/iron blasters? I feel like a couple units of them would've done good work here, but idk the values.
Is there something wrong with coast? I haven’t seen but 1 or 2 replays of them and they’re one of the bigger factions if I recall. Definitely one of the more hype DLC.

Is this a change in Immortal Empires: that you can choose which flag/colours you want for your faction in custom battles, like Indypride here playing as Parravon?

The scary part is the fact brettonia's army is completely built up with very specific units to fight ogres while the ogres army is built with generic units to fight anything.
Sure in multiplayer that's fair cause you know your oppponent's faction, but in campaign I feel its going to be annoying being at war with ogres cause it'll force you to bring so much anti-large.
Ogre infantry completely mauled spear infantry even when it's kind of supposed to be the counter..
i can only assume that this is a special build give to youtubers that cover Total War? Because i really want to mess around with skaven and the Warriors of Chaos again

Personally I think it makes sense in most cases, but really think Archaon should be the exception to that rule. if not Be’lakor and Kholek too. I will be sad if i cant lead the champions of all four gods as the everchosen :(
