I'm nearly the exact same. Was never even that dedicated to playing minecraft in the first place, just loved seeing what people could be in it. So crazy to be reminded of these old builds I remember attempting to understand, along with the newer builds that truly proves his dedication since then.
I think I tapped out of watching him partway through the construction of the nexus, but that was only because I outgrew the game, not through any fault of his. Glad to know he's been keeping it up since!

It is hard to believe I've been watching a RUclips series for 7 years. That is insane. I literally went to university, earned my bachelor's degree, and worked for a start-up until it failed all between episodes 200 and 450 (ish).

Between this series, Mindcrack, Etho’s Modded Minecraft, Flyboys, UHC, Project Ozone, Terrafirmacraft, FTB, BattleBane (never forget!), Hermitcraft, and countless more, this channel has never disappointed.

I first found you with your old spiral staircase elevator tutorial. I was about 11 I think. I did not understand English at all, because I'm from The Netherlands. At the time you were somewhere between episode 200 and 250, I don't exactly remember. But when I started watching i really liked it, even though I couldn't understand a thing you where saying. Slowly but surely in a way you taught me English, I just started understanding what you were saying. And when I kinda started to understand you, thats when I really fell in love with your videos. I even went back and watched the first season of the LP with Chocolate Island. And now 5 years later, I'm 16 and I still watch every single video you upload. I have so much respect for you. You're so awesome. And also the community is just amazing. Everyone is so kind and nice. And I love all the inside jokes. So I just wanted to say thank you, for everything. hello, this is actually insane but i did the EXACT thing as you did (i did not know english that well when i started as the same age as you and learnt english becasue of etho i am 16 also at the moment and i also went and saw the start of his lets play series the moment i fell in love with his series and i have watched every episode he has uploded pretty much ever sinse. i just cant understand the chance that we both did the exact same thing and its all just becasue of good old loveable etho :)

Slim Tony Yeah I looked at social blade. What was it like 22 new subs a week or month roughly. That's pretty bad Tbh i think it's mainly due to his upload schedule and the fact RUclips focuses more on new content that isn't very much series like, whereas this is a minecraft series.

Just watched this again and it’s brought back so many memories, I remember rushing home after school when I was in like gr5 to watch your vids in this world and the adventure maps with pause and beef.
Despite having watched this series since episode 170 or so, it's still crazy to think this series has gone on for 500 episodes! It definitely does not feel like that much! Hey Etho! I'm a longtime sub, but i'll be honest I haven't watched a video in a long long time. I just got tired of the game, and lost interest in it and watching videos of it. But I think it's absolutely amazing that you've kept this series going for this long! I remember it was like my daily ritual when I got home from school was to get a snack, hop on youtube and watched you, Doc, and Bdub's videos. This was a huge nostalgia trip for me, it's crazy how many memories of this series came back to me as I watched this. After watching this, i'm definitely going to try and stop by the channel more often. Hope all is well, and of course, congrats on making it to the 500th episode!
Josh - JDoofy same. I feel like I’ve outgrown Minecraft quite a while ago but he has been such an irreplaceable piece of my childhood and I couldn’t thank him enough. His voice by itself makes me feel at ease when I load up a video just like the good old days. And when he played ark I was so happy I had an excuse to watch again. I also decided to watch episode 500 to see what has changed in the world and to my surprise from like a year or two of not watching, almost nothing has changed, but what else could I expect from little old indecisive etho. Amen to that. The most nostalgic part was when he walked through the tree farm and walked by the Donators. I never even donated, as i could never afford to as a high school student. But i always remember just wishing I could have donated. Lo and behold, the world is still going and the Donators names are plastered there to this day. I dont think any series on RUclips could ever compare to this one in my own eyes.

I guess I can say I was here for the EATS roads, the easy loaders, the boat dispensers (man, I miss that stuff...), the first mob traps (using doors, no less!), the holy clay, the first time you and Doc first met on a server, to watch you break wood with pickaxes, for all the TNT, for Spaz, for all the face reveals, to watch you struggle with extreme scarcity of blue rocks, to watch you discover blue fire, to watch you tend to the soils with ur moms, for the interesting conversations with creepers (ep 112 @9:38), for the slowsand, for -being mind controlled- your totally normal signs, for all the bleepless swearing... wait what?
And, of course, snacks!
Even though I mostly (not totally!) haven't been here for the last two or three years (got way too tired of minecraft), I was here for the 5nd and so I'm here for the 500rd, and I wanna thank you for all the literal and figurative rainy evenings that were made cozy by your memorable voice, your lovely sense of humor, your enthusiasm and your creativity.

Oh man etho, this takes me way back, haven't watched since 2012 but great to see the world you've created come so far along.
Etho, I have been watching you for so long. It's hard to truly share how much your channel and your content means to me. I'm at a point in my life where I haven't played Minecraft or even really cared about it for almost 3 years, but I still make sure to watch every single one of your videos in this series. I had just gotten a laptop in middle school and loved RUclips and CoD. Around that time Minecraft was on the rise and shortly after I found your series which is what made me want to play Minecraft so badly. This was around beta 1.6.6. You inspired me eventually to want to record and post my own gameplay as well which required a better computer. I learned how to build computers in order to make a computer powerful enough to play, record, and edit my videos. Eventually, I got into filmmaking due to editing and RUclips. I found you when I was 13 and I am now 20 years old. In a lot of ways you have been the catalyst that inspired me to learn coding, computer sciences, cinematography, editing, graphic design, and much more including inspiring my love for PC gaming. Etho, you truly are an inspiration and an incredible guy that I'm so happy has continued to make amazing content with a great personality. Little as you may know you're like a best friend to me. You've been here through thick and thin and inspired me to keep pushing towards my goals everyday. It's kind of mind boggling considering this is essentially just a silly Minecraft series, but to a lot of your viewers, including myself, it has been so much more. Thank you for 7 years of inspiration, entertainment, and so, so much more.

It's not shame. Some of us genuinely don't have the time to enjoy Ethoslab anymore. Most of us were teenagers when Etho started, now we're adults with obligations that consume our time. I still like to watch important videos like this one, but I don't have anywhere near enough free time to watch every LP video he does. I don't even know about most of the new stuff in Minecraft over the past year+. Last time I played was just after 1.7 release.

I've Been watching Etho since the beginning and I've never been bored, I remember my grandma got me a Minecraft shirt because she thought it was a Lego shirt. At the time Minecraft was still in its early days and I didn't even know it existed. Your Chocolate Island series was the first thing that came up and it had only been days since you uploaded the first video. Every day after school and on weekends I watched those videos, through you I found other amazing RUclipsrs like VintageBeef and PauseUnpause and even recently people like Iskall85. Now I'm 15 and it feels like I've been watching your videos my whole childhood and as long as you keep making them I know I'll be watching them for years to come into my adulthood. Thank You Etho for being a source of entertainment for years and never ceasing to amaze with new creative content that is always enjoyable.

hey Etho. The first video I watched was when you were building the End base. I wasn't fluent in english then and it was one of my first minecraft videos. I don't know why, but I felt attracted to that video and kept watching. I simply love your creativity and love for the game, even though I stopped playing myself.
I still remeber a video where you used silverfish to mine. Or the one where you built Wilson. It has been a great childhood and I get very nostalgic with every video you make. Hope this channel never dies.

I haven't kept up recently but you are now the longest standing (and only minecraft) youtuber I'm subscribed to.
