It's interesting watching this as a Hermitcraft fan in 2020 who never watched Mindcrack. I watch Joe Hills' streams a lot, and when asked about how Hermitcraft makes decisions or operates, he often describes it as "an artist's collective"; in that they're making art together, and there's a lot of diversity in the work that's being made, and that's *celebrated*. Hermitcraft might be, technically, a brand, but it's not a business the way some folks steered Mindcrack into becoming. The contrast is interesting to me, I guess.
You should check it out. Its good stuff. Worth watching imo. And yeah, what's funny about Guude trying to turn Mindcrack into a business is that it probably destroyed a cash cow for him. Etho, Bdubz, and Generick leaving were MASSIVE losses. Had Mindcrack not gone in that direction I firmly believe Hermitcraft would not exist in the capacity it exists in today. And Mindcrack would still be alive and kicking. All of my favorite RUclips "groups" were destroyed when they tried to turn it into a business. TheCreatures being the main example.
The old days of minecraft man..... The minecraft RUclips community has changed so much since the good old times, the pranks, the UHCs, the builds, the bonds, the feels.... Not just mindcrack tho, the whole community has changed a lot I feel.... Sad face
when i got minecraft pe, i thought minecraft was an obsession i would have for a month or two. That was five years ago. Im sure there are some people that will never really get over it.
There was a time when I thought Minecraft would never die. Mindcrack would last forever, and friends would never part. It's been tough seeing the world change in ways I hoped it never would. Mindcrack took me through highschool and early college. I'll miss it for sure.
You guys know how Etho's favorite show was The Office? It felt like Etho was Michael, and Mindcrack was the rest of the office. Sucks to see him go, but I have faith that Etho will reunite with Mindcrack in some way... :)
Clearly Etho made the right decision to leave Mindcrack. Now he is apart of Hermitcraft, one of the most popular minecraft communities and servers, and unfortunately Mindcrack is a shell of what it used to be. I loved Mindcrack and it’s sad to see what happened to it, but I am excited for Hermitcraft and Ethos adventures that are to come on that server. He might the right choice to leave. As well as BdoubleO
the moment he mentioned the trademark agreement I understood why he left, I'd probably have done it too, when Guude mentioned that agreement I thought that mindcrack was becoming a business, which I did not like.
Then you do not understand why it was done. It was done to protect the group. Etho didnt leave for the reason you think, he just didnt want to deal with the paperwork as it were. Thats fine but get off your high horse.
While I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that, it doesn't take much looking to see other groups who've made this jump, and the general decline in quality afterwards. Yogscast used to be a pretty neat group to watch before it became the huge conglomerate of children's shows.
my childhood was consumed by countless hours of mindcrack content, I haven't thought of them for sometime until I googled what happened to them. I rewatched this with foggy eyes, to the best of my recollection this was the beginning of the end of the server. Sure it's still going, but it's not the same and once I watched this video years ago I knew it wouldn't be the same. RIP mindcrack you gave a lonely kid some really good times.
Angus Howard xD etho is one of the only people i still watch nowadays for his personality I only occasionally play modded nowadays....more in to league nowadays haha
+Nightwing3442 bdoub and Genny is also a huge bummer those three people is the reason why I got into Minecrack in the first place. I guess Doc is the only one left I care about. Well Anderz is nice too, but to be honest I don't really watch his videos.
+bob sinc I think I'm going to start unsubscribing all the MindCrack members that I liked. No more content on Minecraft, and the popular Minecrafters are gone. :/
Coming back to this after watching Guude's stream explanation of what went down. I do sort of wish Etho had voiced his opinion on Mindcrack changing to a business not being an issue within itself, but rather just an issue for him. but that is entirely retrospective and considering how only 9 years later Etho has become as "willing" to share his personal information as he is, basically no way he would have back then.
This is why I genuinely love Etho... he's as honest with his viewers as he can be without revealing to much...he stays absolutely true to himself... it's why I was such a huge fan of Technoblade...I feel like Etho and Techno were very similar.... I'm incredibly disappointed we will never see the two legends on the same screen...but I feel lucky to witness them both as they were and are....
I don't know exactly why, but I still tear up when I listen to this. It's like I've walked past a nostalgic place from my childhood that I can no longer visit. I can relive my favourite moments, but I can't continue the adventure. Idk about you but this remains quite heartbreaking for me 💔 😢 😔 😞 😪 Long live Etho, Ma man
Not to hate on Guude, but he really isn't the brightest guy there is, and him being in a position of power was a recipe for disaster. He's a good entertainer, but a terrible businessman (proven by how he basically drove away all the largest channels and sources of new viewers). Almost all channels have been stable or growing, except for his. So now MindCrack is pretty much dead, and the person who suffered most from it is Guude himself. Some people just aren't cut out to be leaders, I guess.
He is good at being a leader that is not a leader. He was good when he started mindcrack, invited a bunch of friends to make awesom fun things. But for official business stuff, he just drove things to the ground. But still no one hated him. Maybe displeased, but no one hates him. You can tell because people still plays with him. Even etho. Which says alot about his character. He is not bad. He is just bad at leading people.
Mindcrack, as a group, have close to 9 million subs and over 2 trillion views. How do you describe failure? Many heavy lifters like Etho, Zisteau, Docm, Beef, Pause, GenericB, and BdoubleO ran with it for a long time and all grew their brands and channels immensely as a result of the synergy of working with Guude. It's likely that Hermitcraft posts more views now than Mindcrack did but they still don't match the quality of entertainment...I'll watch any Guude episode three times before enduring the condiscension of a Xisumavoid episode. But then the rub: many people don't realize that as Mindcrack approached its pinnical, dozens of people started ripping off the brand and logos selling all kinds of unauthorized merchandise. Lawyers advised Guude to register Mindcrack as a trade mark. With so many people involved with the SMP it just became too messy and complicated. How can you cast aspersions at Guude's organizational or leadership skills?
hmm sound argument. but i guess people just didt like to make things too serious. like mindcrack starts off as a friend only thing and there are tons of worshipper out there who drew their stuff and such. but ofc there are people who makes profit off of that, but at the start, those are not of any concern. its like a mangastreaming website. and the content creator are the translator. these translator creates content for users that are unavailable to get the source. then come along big company like viz or crunchyroll who brought all the copyright and sued all the streaming services like mangastream or mangarock. ofc they were legally right to do so asnthey brought the copy right. but it makes people unhappy. so as for people like etho, he can be considered one of the translator, but he is an employee for the free streaming services, ane he likes doing so, he likes to bring joy to people, to share his creations. so when the company goes, alright we will be charging for our services now and you have to do paperwork and go to meeting, etho be like "nah, ima outta here"
as you can prolly see, etho is the type that never ask for like or subscribe or donations. yet his supporters are those that always ask him to start a patereon or something so they can support him
Keep in mind that the contract was neccecary because some of the members were doing very shady stuff with server sponsorships and the contract killed the members that were doing some messed up things
@@TheWizoid Hi this was an old comment so I'm not sure what exactly I was talking about, but I think I was talking about how some of the server members (bdubs and gen b maybe?) were working with pay to win servers who I think did other scammy stuff.

I really hope something like this doesn't happen to Hermitcraft. I honestly doubt it would because Xisuma is a much more fit group leader than Guude was, and he hasn't done a face reveal which would kind of be needed to take Hermitcraft in that direction.
Hermitcraft differs alot from what mindcrack was, its not xisuma's server although it is in his name. The group run it together, pay for it together and vote on ideas and changes together. It's a sad state to see mindcrack the way it is but it was the way it was managed that killed it.
Honestly, from the way Joe hills tells it, the hermits had a rough time with generikb's leadership in season one and when he left, nobody could come to a decision about what to do so Joe had to run a quick coup to get them to actually decide on a new seed and new members. Everything they do is decided by vote (although it's mostly votes against that are considered bc not everyone turns up to meetings). Xisuma runs the server and does admin, just as much as Hypno runs the website, and Doc looks into optimised mods for server performance. They've got ten years under their belt, I think they've got it sussed
I took a hiatus on watching mindcrack and video games in general and etho leaves. Etho was the one who introduced me into Mindcrack and I gotta be honest, I'm really sad :( but if he doesn't feel like he wants to do it anymore than well, m3h

So many memories made on that server it brings me back but good on etho for staying authentic for over a decade its definitley helped cultivate this amazing fanbase
haven't watched any mind crack since like 2013 but that sucks to hear they've gone that direction. use to just be everyone having a good time messing around
Honestly, I think the only reason Etho is not a part of Mindcrack anymore is because he doesn't want anyone to know his real name. And that is his right. Signing a contract would have meant people in Mindcrack would know his real name and other people as well I'm sure.
I can relate to not wanting to get into legal material either under some circumstances. I find it too much hassle over a game that is a hobby and I think Etho finds RUclips to be a hobby, not a job. But him not giving his name is a valid reason too.
What are you talking about lmao, RUclips is his job, it used to be a hobby if you watched him when he started. He used to accept donations, but once he got partnered It transitioned into full time for him.
I've actually heard that same thing from at least 2, maybe 3 other Mindcrackers talking about this before. I think Guude in one of his 7DTD vids mentions Etho not wanting his name out (among other things) Most in MC did know his name but I believe the contract would be public and others could find it if they looked.
i feel like his alot more comfortable being in hermitcraft since etho really just wanted to have fun and goof around and not sell stuff and do contracts
to be honest even if mindcrack did not go down the business path the server would still be lowly populated/dead. I know a lot of the fans of Etho and the other 4 were huge fans of mindcrack, so was I. I watched Bdubs and Etho mindcrack server content more than any other mindcracker. but I am completely fine with how things turned out. Though I don't watch much of etho or bdubs any more, for various reasons, such as Etho uploads content I don't really care for I watch his hermitcraft stuff but when he does single player stuff I find it boring. I stopped watching bdubs because he "grew up" I liked Bdubs when he was the derpy guy in OOG content and his Mindcrack content was great, but now he is more mature and not so "Derpy" anymore and I don't have much interest in his current series except for GTA but i have been to busy to keep up with it. Through this "Purge" I actually have grown closer to the Mindcrack group, and I now watch some Mindcrackers that I probably never would have. And now I have more time to watch all of Guude's awesome series. Sorry for long post, just sharing so thoughts.
Skypost4ever Well put. I also stopped watching Bdubs but still watch Etho and his single player vanilla minecraft LP is actually my favorite series... But alas, to each his own I guess :P
+Skypost4ever I'm the exact opposite of you! xD Watch all of Etho's videos except the Hermitcraft ones because I think the other guys on the Hermitcraft server are a little bit "out of his league". But that's just my opinion. I have really disconnected from the Mindcraft community. I only watched Shree when he rejoined just because I wanted to give him some attention because he wasn't that famous but then I realized Mindcrack is no fun without Etho so i got uninterested again. Etho really is the perfect RUclipsr for me.
ifroad33 I respect your opinion, though I find Mindcrack still really fun, even without etho and bdubs. I love GOB and the Show. But I understand how you feel, Etho is really a great YTber but I find his single player content a lot less enjoyable than his group content.
Thank you for this upload. I've heard many players left Mindcrack lately, which is kind of a bummer. But if think there is a good reason not to continue.
+Imag1ne Graser is taking the Cube into just being for the money. Everyone who isn't in it for the money is getting kicked, such as Minecraft4Meh and ThatOneTomahawk. Who wants to bet either Tofuu or Kiingtong is next?
Jeez, what happened? Mindcrack was only a singleplayer world and then a server, right? Then the Mindcrack community grew and now Etho needs a lawyer? Wow... Things HAVE changed...
I used to watch Beef Bdubs GennyB Etho Doc and almost all of them everyday to keep up with what was going on. But when they wanted to make the public server and it was barely working and then Guude and Rob had the falling out is when I could see that things were gonna change. Like not with everyone but you could definitely see that a few were trying to “fit the mold” of other Minecraft content creators at the time instead of being there unique selves which is what made it so magical originally. I remember guude saying they were thinking about doing what Yogscast does how they put the group name before the channel even. Just in the end greed and miss management did them in, not accounting for in fighting or burn out
i was looking for the video where etho explains this but couldn't find it. i guess i didn't watch that episode of the modded series. i saw Beef started on a new MindCrack server and was hoping etho would join it. but now i know why he didn't. sad to not see him in that series but good for him for sticking to his beliefs. i wonder if thats the reason why BDubs isn't doing anything with mindcrack anymore
robbeh salz I remember why bdubs left. He said that there was a contract that had things in it that he didn't agree with so he decided to leave mindcrack. It sucks because it was so entertaining but if he was doing what he believes in it's alright
+robbeh salz BdoubleO went super business-like, he just didn't want to do it with the Mindcrack group. Ever since Season 4 he and Generik started to slowly drift away from the group, doing their own B-Team stuff, and now they basically have no connections with Mindcrack anymore. If you look at BDoubleO's channel he doesn't even have Mindcrack guys on his featured channels, which is funny since he started off as a RUclipsr by idolizing Guude and became popular by playing with him in the OOG series and on the Mindcrack server starting Season 3.
I remember watching all the mindcrack episodes. Especially feed the beast, that was my favourite. It was honestly my dream to one day be apart of a small group of friends who just played minecraft for fun because of mindcrack. It's sad that they chose money over friendships.
Etho probably did make the right decision. In the case he didn't really want to sign a trademark agreement, but at the same time, leaving the mindcrack community. It must have been a hard choice for him.
+Joseph Jenkinson-cross Chad, Aurey, Coe and Sevadus (is that all?) were added to the server to try and increase the activity. The server declining wasn't Chad's fault, he was an attempted solution (that didn't work XP)
Good for them; getting business and getting by, but I totally agree with Etho. He wants to keep things simple and enjoyable since it is still just a game.
It’s strange to me looking back on how sad etho was about this and how little of the mindcrackers he played with after quickly moving onto hermitcraft I can imagine there was a pretty huge falling out behind the scenes with alot of people, it’s a shame as somebody who grew up watching a lot of the mindcrackers seeing none of them play together anymore is quite sad. it was cool seeing guude beef, baj and pause playing on beefs server gave me major mineZ nostalgia
Why do people think there was a falling out? In the years since no-one has ever alluded to a falling out between the MindCrackers. The only "falling out" I know of was the drama around Rob aka OldManWillakers (creator of Dwarves vs. Zombies) but that's about it.
@@Myne1001 Guude spoke out about it on Reddit in 2019. According to him, he did this to drive out Bdubs and generikb for "scamming children" (doing undisclosed sponsorships).
PSA: You can think what you want about the business side of Mindcrack, but the trademark was necessary; otherwise, anyone could use the Mindcrack name and logo as they pleased without the permission of the group.
That is not really what he was talking about. For instance, Hermitcraft's name is trademarked too, but that's it. No one really had to sign any agreements to do X, Y and Z to become part of the group.
I don't think so. From what I've heard from Guude, Etho isn't entirely accurate on what happened here. Under the MindCrack contract he was not forced to go to events. People who didn't sign the contract weren't really "kicked out"; Etho and the others still have VIP status, meaning they can play on the various MindCrack servers & join UHCs. The contract was really about copyrighting the MindCrack brand. Those who signed have the right to use MindCrack and its logos in merch (e.g. t-shirts) and MindCrack has a right to use their name and image on their business stuff and merch. The meetings part is true as Etho would have to join in on that if he did sign. But regardless it doesn't change anything. I can see why Etho left; he liked MindCrack as a group of people he played with in Minecraft. Now MindCrack has gone past that and Etho just saw it as his time to leave.
its interesting to know that he is no longer a member of mindcrack but he can still play with Guude and everyone else and still have a good time. the world needs more Etho's!
Looking Back Being four years removed that was the dumbest decision Gude has ever made in his life now mine crack is just down to one 24-hour stream a year for charity so much for all that marketing they were going to do
To be fair it wasn't just Guude who made this decision. All the ones who stayed in the group also made the decision. Those who left (i.e. Etho) just didn't want to be part of this business arrangement. And it wasn't mandatory to be in this business; Etho could have still played on the MindCrack server without needing to be in the business. But he just left because the "magic" of MindCrack was wanning. People were becoming burnt out on Minecraft and the server was just 1 or 2 people on at most times. Most MindCrackers were moving on to other types of content, while Etho remained a primarily Minecraft focused channel. 2014 was a horrible year for minecraft in general, leading to the great slump it was in for 5 years or so until its recent resurgence.

welp it´s dead now anyway (ik there´s still a server, but who cares...)
Bdubs left?!
@@yourlilemogirl He hasn't been active on youtube for a while now..
@@zacharyp3359 What? You mean birth? He took a break for a awhile to deal with his family and also started playing more games with speedy and them like CSGO.
i stopped watching mindcrack after the Bteam left :( but Bdubz and etho are on hermitcraft now. :D Now imagine if GenerikB joined hermitcraft again.
Etho holds all power. look at mindcrack now--> X )x
+Gabriel Dennis D,:
So true after he, generikb, and more left than Minecrack server " for minecraft" doesn't exist any more
Aaron Cotton I'm glad its just the server. The majority of the group is still together
+Emerald King not really it broke off into different groups all under the title of "MineCrake"
The best few players left with the best vids so yeah everything was done after that!
@@BrokenGodEnt Yogcast a shadow of its formal self also (ironically)
The old days of minecraft man..... The minecraft RUclips community has changed so much since the good old times, the pranks, the UHCs, the builds, the bonds, the feels.... Not just mindcrack tho, the whole community has changed a lot I feel.... Sad face
Meritocracy!
look at hermitcraft. its kind of a relic of that
Gab Edgar crewcraft and hermitcraft are still going strong. I don't know where forgecraft is these days, it might well be slowing down tho :(
when i got minecraft pe, i thought minecraft was an obsession i would have for a month or two.
Etho's favorite show was and is Seinfeld. Office is a good show.
are you an etho alt?
"The Office is a good show."
He's now on hermitcraft which is a lot better than mind crack ever was
it isn't though. They are way more hilarious than anyone on hermitcraft
Thats fine but get off your high horse.
just curious, protect the group from what exactly?
While I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that, it doesn't take much looking to see other groups who've made this jump, and the general decline in quality afterwards. Yogscast used to be a pretty neat group to watch before it became the huge conglomerate of children's shows.
really? Sorry for the confusion then
Mindcrack (TM)
Mindcrack. Has cracked.
Seriously... -_-
+Xmoonsheep at your place on monday instead? ;)
+XouZ lmao
now we only have beef to carry on the true mindcrack spirit
But without Bdubs, Generik and Etho there won't be any fun multiplayer moments anymore :(
But there’s still hermitcraft
Beef to carry on the *vintage* spirit
@Kurt Johnson Don't be ridiculous.
2016, still watch old mindcrack videos. still very sad
I watch them too I also watch old hermitcraft videos too
@@Dan-lg5ib hermitcraft is better than mindcrack
my childhood was consumed by countless hours of mindcrack content, I haven't thought of them for sometime until I googled what happened to them. I rewatched this with foggy eyes, to the best of my recollection this was the beginning of the end of the server. Sure it's still going, but it's not the same and once I watched this video years ago I knew it wouldn't be the same. RIP mindcrack you gave a lonely kid some really good times.
90% of the people watching minecraft were watching these 5 people who left.
what the hell guude
the 5 people were watched because of their passion....funny how the people who stayed all have less viewers huh....
PB Whatsoup lol tf my sis left that comment i don't even play MC
Angus Howard xD etho is one of the only people i still watch nowadays for his personality I only occasionally play modded nowadays....more in to league nowadays haha
Etho leaving sealed mindcrack's fate, the server is dead, all they do is stuff besides mindcrack. Rip guude Willies, and something with etho and guude
It will forever be the best mine craft series ever
+Tony Denton Nah man, the yogscast one and fucking Mianite have to be the best minecraft series out there.
Without Etho mindcrack isn't the same
+Nightwing3442 bdoub and Genny is also a huge bummer those three people is the reason why I got into Minecrack in the first place.
+Nightwing3442 Without Mindcrack Etho isn't the same
Agreed. Team Canada just isn't Team Canada without Etho-senpai :/ ((although, I do love Beef and Pause))
Etho was pretty much the last holdout for mindcrack.
I remember him saying that he left because the servers were like single player because he didnt collab with anyone
Which stream
thanks for making the video, else i would never have known
This is why I genuinely love Etho... he's as honest with his viewers as he can be without revealing to much...he stays absolutely true to himself... it's why I was such a huge fan of Technoblade...I feel like Etho and Techno were very similar.... I'm incredibly disappointed we will never see the two legends on the same screen...but I feel lucky to witness them both as they were and are....
I know, I always wished to see an Etho and Techno collab.
Crazy to think all these years later that this major split kind of ended the mindcrack reign on Minecraft on RUclips
I don't know exactly why, but I still tear up when I listen to this. It's like I've walked past a nostalgic place from my childhood that I can no longer visit. I can relive my favourite moments, but I can't continue the adventure.
Idk about you but this remains quite heartbreaking for me 💔 😢 😔 😞 😪
Long live Etho,
Ma man
Not to hate on Guude, but he really isn't the brightest guy there is, and him being in a position of power was a recipe for disaster.
How can you cast aspersions at Guude's organizational or leadership skills?
hmm sound argument. but i guess people just didt like to make things too serious. like mindcrack starts off as a friend only thing and there are tons of worshipper out there who drew their stuff and such. but ofc there are people who makes profit off of that, but at the start, those are not of any concern.
its like a mangastreaming website. and the content creator are the translator. these translator creates content for users that are unavailable to get the source.
then come along big company like viz or crunchyroll who brought all the copyright and sued all the streaming services like mangastream or mangarock. ofc they were legally right to do so asnthey brought the copy right. but it makes people unhappy.
so as for people like etho, he can be considered one of the translator, but he is an employee for the free streaming services, ane he likes doing so, he likes to bring joy to people, to share his creations. so when the company goes, alright we will be charging for our services now and you have to do paperwork and go to meeting, etho be like "nah, ima outta here"
as you can prolly see, etho is the type that never ask for like or subscribe or donations.
yet his supporters are those that always ask him to start a patereon or something so they can support him
and like i said, no one hated guude.
Keep in mind that the contract was neccecary because some of the members were doing very shady stuff with server sponsorships and the contract killed the members that were doing some messed up things
sorry what do you mean?
@@TheWizoid Hi this was an old comment so I'm not sure what exactly I was talking about, but I think I was talking about how some of the server members (bdubs and gen b maybe?) were working with pay to win servers who I think did other scammy stuff.
Kind of crazy how little traction this has. All of the comments on this video seem to be under the outdated impression that Guude was just trying to make more money
I didn't know that this was from a livestream, etho did a good job addressing it live
it wasn't a livestream this was a episode of moded Minecraft
How can you tell?
It was a livestream in his modded world.
Now that Genny and Bdubs left mindcrack is crap.
A server without a B-team is a troubled server indeed
Jonathan Knecht but a server with a B-Team is an even more troubled server :P
Tuur Gallé not so not so!!

It sounds like he's really broken up about it in this video at first. I hear muffled wincing but idk if thats just him touching his mic
Shriggah i think that was his chair, lol
Etho is love, Etho is life.
Alen Shearer Indeed!
Miss you my dude. I have been so far up my own ass with life that I hadn't noticed all the stuff that went on. After I left I couldn't be bothered with the arguments... Love that you stayed true to yourself hun. Keep in touch if you see this.
was kinda happy etho didn't end up like the rest of the minecraft youtubers and just played it for how fun it is, instead of making it more about making as much money as possible
That's what I love about etho, he's happy where he's at. He doesn't need more money or anything, he just loves what he does and thats it
the thing that sucks about this is that mindcrack never grew into anything after etho left so it was all for nothing.
I'm crying inside
Yea... It Really sucks...
Kolten Callaghan i'm crying outside!

This for some reason keeps showing up in recommended. It always makes me sad to see this
Boss Romos same :/
I remember listening to this when he first posted it in that video, why am I back here this makes me sad on the day after Christmas!
randomly got recommended this 8 years after the video was posted
I can understand the urge to turn mindcrack into something more, but it just sucks when stuff like this happens..
Damn, dude. I'd forgotten about most of those guys. I also forgot I didn't know the actual story about what happened. Thanks for the upload, my dude!
Thanks for uploading this i missed it.
I really hope something like this doesn't happen to Hermitcraft. I honestly doubt it would because Xisuma is a much more fit group leader than Guude was, and he hasn't done a face reveal which would kind of be needed to take Hermitcraft in that direction.
Xisuma is far better as a leader. I’m happy he’s in charge of hermitcraft.
Hermitcraft differs alot from what mindcrack was, its not xisuma's server although it is in his name. The group run it together, pay for it together and vote on ideas and changes together. It's a sad state to see mindcrack the way it is but it was the way it was managed that killed it.
Also the Hermits probably learned from this situation in what they shouldn't do.
I have the same story as you.
Same here I remember the first video that I saw it was the hide and seek one memories 😔
So basically, Etho didn't wanna sell out... good on him!
Sadly, this kinda felt like the period in which Mindcrack started to die out. I watched them avidly 2012-2015 then fell off hard
MrGetownedLP same
Same, those where the days... Highschool and mindcrack, then I stopped watching Minecraft videos, then I stopped playing minecraft once Microsoft, lately I’ve been back into it but it’s not the same :(
this is probably why hermitcraft is extremely successful today
But him not giving his name is a valid reason too.
qwerty222999 I mean I would feel the same I wouldn't want anyone to know my real name if I was in his shoes. There are some crazies out there.
I'm pretty sure the others in Mindcrack knew/know his name, lol. They were all friends.
And now Etho is in the lead by a whole 1 mil in subs. Goes to show QUALITY over QUANTITY!
i feel like his alot more comfortable being in hermitcraft since etho really just wanted to have fun and goof around and not sell stuff and do contracts
Thanks for posting this!
Odalisca LP No problem :)
2023 good throwback
to be honest even if mindcrack did not go down the business path the server would still be lowly populated/dead.
I actually think Bdubs got to immature, I used to watch all of his vids, but now I barely watch any because it just got to much..
+Martin Barkaway Nielsen I think he got more mature :P
+Skypost4ever I'm the exact opposite of you! xD Watch all of Etho's videos except the Hermitcraft ones because I think the other guys on the Hermitcraft server are a little bit "out of his league". But that's just my opinion. I have really disconnected from the Mindcraft community. I only watched Shree when he rejoined just because I wanted to give him some attention because he wasn't that famous but then I realized Mindcrack is no fun without Etho so i got uninterested again.
Etho really is the perfect RUclipsr for me.
ifroad33
I respect your opinion, though I find Mindcrack still really fun, even without etho and bdubs.
Hopefully this makes Graser think about the route he's taking.
+Noobface question, who is 'Graser'?
A RUclipsr who is in it for just the money now.
+Imag1ne Graser is taking the Cube into just being for the money. Everyone who isn't in it for the money is getting kicked, such as Minecraft4Meh and ThatOneTomahawk. Who wants to bet either Tofuu or Kiingtong is next?
+Flabbergasted George tru
I think thats why the cube started to fail and died
Man, honestly, I would've done the same in his boots. Etho has something that most people lack today, integrity and principles.
Jeez, what happened? Mindcrack was only a singleplayer world and then a server, right? Then the Mindcrack community grew and now Etho needs a lawyer? Wow... Things HAVE changed...
Doc, bdubs, beef and etho in hermitcraft season 7. Im excited
The uncomfortableness is real. I hope he'll come back, but, of course, it's his decision as well as Guudes.
I miss old-school minecrack. Keep ethos channel alive forever
Hermitcraft pretty much replaced Mind Crack now. Which is fine by considering I never knew much about Mind Crack in the first place.
Just in the end greed and miss management did them in, not accounting for in fighting or burn out
Ethi left cuz pause mlg straightlines him every season.
Jk pls dont hurt me
Lol
been a long time etho, I think you made a good choice. still watch your videos, although feed the beast was awesome. I miss seeing everyone together.
Im glad he joined hermitcraft
Same!
Best descision ever! More Original Etho for us
he's still an honorary mindcracker though
UndeadGaming He is a Mindcrack legend
He didn't want to show his face at the conventions!
It's okay Etho it's your RUclips channel
Aaaaaand this is why Etho is my favorite of all the Minecraft RUclipsrs.
i was looking for the video where etho explains this but couldn't find it. i guess i didn't watch that episode of the modded series. i saw Beef started on a new MindCrack server and was hoping etho would join it. but now i know why he didn't. sad to not see him in that series but good for him for sticking to his beliefs. i wonder if thats the reason why BDubs isn't doing anything with mindcrack anymore
robbeh salz It wasn't from a modded video, it was one of his rare livestreams from a year ago.
robbeh salz I remember why bdubs left.
Also Etho would have to show his face! (screams)
Etho probably did make the right decision. In the case he didn't really want to sign a trademark agreement, but at the same time, leaving the mindcrack community. It must have been a hard choice for him.
its a lie! its because PauseUnpause Owns him in UHC
Do you honestly think THAT's the reason after watching the video? That's immature.
holy shit you should really get some humor
Not your humor :)
-_-
+TBGFAN og Geakon You have no humour
But it seems when OMGchad joined the group everyone started leaving
Let's face it, the server is dying.
Yeah all the top guys have left and put the less known people up
+Joseph Jenkinson-cross Chad, Aurey, Coe and Sevadus (is that all?) were added to the server to try and increase the activity. The server declining wasn't Chad's fault, he was an attempted solution (that didn't work XP)
I actually like chad. its just that, after he joined everything... ugh.
Yea, probably because his hair is red .
I miss 2012
A lot of them still do stuff together, like their annual charity marathon events.
Why do people think there was a falling out? In the years since no-one has ever alluded to a falling out between the MindCrackers. The only "falling out" I know of was the drama around Rob aka OldManWillakers (creator of Dwarves vs. Zombies) but that's about it.
there was drama between guude and bdoubleo/generik when they where scamming kids out of money.@@Myne1001
(Old comment I know) as far as I'm aware Etho is upset about the fact that he himself had to be trademarked, not Mindcrack, right?
That is not really what he was talking about. For instance, Hermitcraft's name is trademarked too, but that's it. No one really had to sign any agreements to do X, Y and Z to become part of the group.
vintagebeef lied to us
I don't think so.
Myne1001 thanks a lot for filling me in
I almost cried when Etho left. Mindcrack has just gone down hill ever since he left
ie: Ethan isn't a sellout
who´s ethan
Etho is Ethan
I thought Etho was Ergo?
waifusandwaffles Have you got any proof?
proof of what
its interesting to know that he is no longer a member of mindcrack but he can still play with Guude and everyone else and still have a good time. the world needs more Etho's!
etho is great
Looking Back Being four years removed that was the dumbest decision Gude has ever made in his life now mine crack is just down to one 24-hour stream a year for charity so much for all that marketing they were going to do
To be fair it wasn't just Guude who made this decision.
Thanks for reposting this. :)
