I Just Don't Get It, There Were Mods... Spaz If From A Mod.. But In His Vanilla World?!
MinaNic Gilan It's a copy of his world, thats how he got all the items out of the chests. Somebody took a copy of his world, went into creative, removed al chests with MCEdit and went into creative to build the tunnel system
Space and Phil Player Data doesn't carry back versions either - He's gone from 1.8 to likely 1.7.10, so all the chests would have been empty because of that anyway

i was honestly just expecting a few cheap jokes about the 404, not this. you went above and beyond.
I actually fell for the beginning part, when his chests and signs were messed up I actually believed it, but when I saw the white blocks I knew it was a joke episode.

I actually believed this for a little bit, the part about your chests and signs. Thought maybe Mojang pulled a prank, but then when you started talking about writers and scripts I realized. AAAMMMMAAZING EPISODE, though!!! You gave it away a bit when one of the doors broke and I saw carpenter's blocks, I thought maybe it was vanilla (for the first part anyway).
Anyway, this was your best special since the old days of Spaz! I loved this so much, and it wasn't even technically a special!!! This has been marked as one of my favorite episodes ever!!!!! Thanks so much for making it, it was SOOOOO AWESOME! :D

I thought it may have been a late april fools prank with the textures blocks, but i realized it was mods after he killed the glasses and they just layed there on the floor.

Bruce Wayne spaz was a "pet" he had in the alpha days of the game on chocolate island he made a new world because of the switch to beta
Bret, its actually his beta world and he switched after beta 1.8 waa released which was known as the adventure update which included sprinting. He went from alpha-beta with chocolate island and abandon it due to fact his mob spawners, both passive and agressive stop working. That when he started a new world, not this one yet. But soon new updates came out which basically forced him to create this one.

But when you started laughing down in the tunnels I knew. You only laugh that way when you are trying to trick us or someone else.

I watched this a second time (after 450 world tour) and the flying glasses guy STILL made me jump out of my chair lol
I'm back here after 5 years, still in awe of the mindfuck we got to experience when this came out. It's an experience you could only get by having followed him for dozens of episodes, then going into this blind. Remember he was teasing of the door for many episodes before this. And the way he passed it off as a "normal" episode, it was such a vertigo-inducing, constant dawning realization.

This was probably an insane amount of work to put together but it would be awesome to see more content like this. It was my favorite video in a long time. Even though it was scripted it's always a lot of fun to watch you do some exploring.
I thought it was the weirdest episode I've ever watched. No offense, Etho, but I didn't exactly like this video. I'm sorry. I like your other videos more. I'm very sorry. I'm really really sorry. It just doesn't fulfil your name, Etho Plays Vanilla Minecraft. It isn't anymore. Plus, I don't think you pulled the video off very good. Peace!
^People were begging him for months to title this episode ERROR 404, it's not supposed to be a regular episode. Plus, the series never says vanilla in the title. And just imagine how much work he put into this episode. We all know Etho is a bad actor, and if he was any more of a better actor in this video then I probably wouldn't like it, because that's just not how he is. And I think he executed it beautifully.

Best episode ever. Creative, funny, nostalgic and brilliant. The way you tied the nightmare clip from the last visit to the door into the surreal atmosphere was perfect. It was the mystery factor that made that door so compelling just like the hut on the mountain and I expect that won't be the only secret to come. After 404 episodes the only thing not found is a dull moment in this series.
This is easily my favorite episode of Etho Plays Minecraft.

At first I thought he emptied the chests himself as a joke for the 404th episode. Then I thought he used MCEdit to remove the tile entities. Then when he said "Lets see whats behind the door", I thought he would either do the same thing as the last time he opened the door or make this his 400th episode special. Then I saw the inside and thought that he had put on a resource pack and built the interior in Creative. When he opened the Garage Door, I thought he was using mods. BUT WHEN I SAW SPAZ, I knew that Mojang had given Etho a 1.9 pre-snapshot!
