I would like for you to know that I ALWAYS come back to this RUclips video. I’ve lost count of how many blankets I’ve made with it (mostly baby blankets). Bless you for your excellent instructions. I am a retired college instructor of 25 years, and I know how important precise instructions can be. I’ve used many of your other tutorials, and they are great, too!
I'm left handed, took me about 4 days re watching this video and doing a practice blanket before I got the hang of it. your video was by far the easiest I have found to re-learn left handed thanks a bunch!!!
Thank you I’ve been making this blanket for a few years now for all baby showers and such it’s so easy and quick and it’s a nice cushy floor blanket for tummy time or something to keep them off the floor it’s so quick and easy with the bulky and the younger gen loves it because of the soft fluffiness. It’s a simple to do winner 🙏🏻 💗. Also if I don’t have time to make another blanket I know I can whip this out quick so I at least have one to give.
I made this blanket for a friend's baby girl. I used the pink/peach Bernat blanket yarn for the main blanket and white for the border. It turned out very cute and very quickly! The mother was surprised and very excited to receive such a precious hand made gift. Thank you for this video and this design. I am planning on making a couple of them for baby boys and girls to keep on hand for gifts! I'm really enjoying your videos!
I am so glad you are back. I made this blanket for my first great nephew. Mailed it in time for my niece's baby shower. She cried when she saw it. She passed it around so everyone could see how soft it was. I never used this yarn before or the Question needle. Thank you.
I’m on my 2nd skein… almost done! So excited! I’m making this ad a gift for a baby girl so for the border I’m using a Bernat Blanket variegated yarn that has pink, soft gray & off white! Can’t wait!!!
I followed this tutorial for my first baby blanket and I think it turned out really well! I used a thick, fuzzy yarn so it helped doing a half double crochet. Thanks for uploading this.
I just started crocheting this past Christmas, and I struggled trying to get the hang out of it. Since finding your videos, I have started to enjoy and crochet much easier! I love your videos so much! You do such a great job at explaining and showing how its done!
Very beautiful, and your so very helpful! My nephew is coming very soon and I wanted to make a baby blanket and this video has improved my crocheting greatly!
Hello and thank you for this tutorial. I'm a beginner and just finished this blanket in less than one day! I love this blanket. My border I finished in a multi-color baby blanket yarn, it's just beautiful. Thank you so much. Keep up the great tutorials.
I stumbled upon you, when deciding to make a blanket as a gift. I crocheted 1 blanket many years ago and couldn't tell you how I did it. Lol. Any way followed your video and made some mistakes along the way having to start over. But once I took my time and really watched the video. It came out beautifully.
I am doing this blanket for my grandson due any day now. I used a L hook because I had that one already. It's tighter, but I love it. I did 60 stiches instead because of it being tighter. I want to say thank you for the reminder to count the stitches to make sure...it was such a big help. I am a beginner in the fact, I've only got about 20 items crocheted. thanks!
Hi I made this blanket in pink and white colour. Completed it in few days very easy to make. The blanket turned out to be very cute. Thanks for the tutorial.
I'm about to make one for my grandson. I already made one for his little sister whose is due to come to this earth June. I like how you explain it in detail. My grandmother taught me when I was a little girl.
I really like this pattern for a baby blanket! I used this pattern a few times over the years and I'm using it again today to make a baby blanket for my neighbor's baby girl who's coming in about a month.
Thank you so much for this video! A friend of mine is having a baby next month and I've been searching for a pattern that I like! I've crocheted many baby blankets over the past few years using basically the same pattern. I absolutely love the pattern I've been using, but I wanted to change it up a bit. Now I found another one I really like! Thanks again!
WOW! I am so lucky to have found your vlog as I have two grandchildren due in Feb and May (1 boy and 1 girl - both daughters are expecting) and this is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! After research I found that Walmart has the best prices on the yarn and even has the Q sized hook in stock! Thanks, so much.
hi there I made this blankie it so loving. I used 3 skeins which made the blankie 36×36 I did use much at all for the edging. it had a few riff patches but next one I make will be as perfect as I want it to be tk u my dear.
the half double crochet is one of my favorite stitches I find myself using this stitch on most of my blankets and it doesn't take long to do a baby blanket with this stitch either.
Kathy Lewis it is my fave as well! It gives a fluffier and faster stitch than single crochet but without the holes that double crochet can leave .😄 glad I’m not the only one
For all the peeps, who have questions about the adult sized blanket using this pattern: I made an adult sized blanket using this tutorial. Dimensions: 60in x 70in throw sized blanket. Used 7 yarns of the main color (used up all of the yarn), and 1 yarn of the ascent color (used like 3/4 ish of the ball). Hope this helps :)
Even though I crochet iv watched this video not as a tutorial but as a calming video and is nice to watch just a ball of yarn to be turned into a baby blanket love the video.😁
I will be a new Nana January 2020 and want my GRAND son to have a handmade blanket. Can’t wait to try this. New subbie here & rang the bell. Let’s please stay connected.
This is really helpful! I’m gonna be an aunt in December (it’s a boy!) and wanted to make something for him but had no clue how to crochet. Thank you so much for teaching me! I’ll definitely check out more of your videos
I've made 5 of these so far for the Linus Club....I'm now going to make them for Christmas presents and for my friends, making them larger. I love this blanket.
👍 beautiful blanket looks easy to make will try and make one for my 1st granddaughterCongratulations to you, i guess by now you must have delivered your baby boy!
Hello there! 😱 I came across your comment today and was wondering how it took you 6 hours to make a baby blanket? I've been trying a lot of projects on the internet and not once can I finish them in about 6 to 12 hours like others say they do. I really would like to finish mine if only I didnt always run out of yarn. #cheers
Please try it,you will love crocheting. My grandmother taught me at a very young age but life got to busy and I stopped for a long time but when my grandchildren came I started up again. I could Never understand the instructions in the books but now with the internet and these videos I have been able to learn stitches I could never do before and in the past few weeks I have made 4 blankets and now I am working on this one for my niece who is expecting in a few weeks. I hope you give it a try and if you stick with it you will be a pro in no time! Good luck!
This was the first item I have ever crocheted and I got the yarn and needle you suggested. It looked very nice when I finished. However, when I washed it, it just became a huge net. The yarn said machine was and dry and I did both of these on delicate. I raveled it back and re-crocheted it and washed it by hand and tried blocking it - the same result. I ended up throwing it in the garbage, but I really enjoyed making it and would like to know what went wrong.
London Hepson , I’m 57 and started crocheting when I turned 14. I tried to learn to knit when I was 8 but could never get the hang of it. I learned how to cross stitch when I was 24 and basically quit crocheting till a couple of years ago, when I discovered my eyes were too bad to see the little holes in cross stitch fabric, LOL. I'm brand new to crochet and love your videos! My granddaughter was born one week ago, so I'm making your easy baby blanket. So far so good. But I don't know how to add new yarn. My first ball is now used up. Any tips? Thank yuh for your videos. They are so easy to follow!!!
Love this pattern ! So simple and easy and I finally get to use my 15mm hook I'm also expecting! I just made my foundation chain a little bigger (61) and I'll be doing a few more rows. Thank you for your great patterns !
thank you for making this easy baby blanket tutorial, but could you please make a vid on how to crochet a name on to the blanket please? thank sewrella!
i absolutely LOVE this blanket! I'm a knitter but have been having trouble getting the hang of crochet. but this chunky knit and big hook made it quite easy and the pattern so simple but its such lovely pattern. i just made a swatch to practice and excited to start the blanket I have some of the yarn you used grey and teal for the border, thanks for sharing 😊
Hi, this is my first time making the baby blanket can you tell me how many 100g ball's of wool does this blanket Many Thanks Elspeth Beattie ps.Your territorial video is great
Love this blanket, I'm a beginner and I'm going to give this a go for my baby. Would you start the blanket as you did in this video or like you have a tutorial for, to make the edge stretchy?
I so, so much wish to learn how to Crochet! Looks easy, but when i try it looks complicated and hard to do. It’s easy for Crochet experts but, find it difficult as a beginner.
When working into the chain, yes just work in the top loop of the chain. When working all other rows, crochet into the entire stitch (front and back loops). Hope this helps!
I have two kids who are having babies and they loved this blanket I made them. They loved it so much they now want me to make an adult size for them. Do you happen to have the measurements for an adult size blanket? And the amount of yarn. Thanks!
I love this pattern. I've made close to 40 of them for baby showers & my great grandkids & nieces & nephews. So easy & fast.
I would like for you to know that I ALWAYS come back to this RUclips video. I’ve lost count of how many blankets I’ve made with it (mostly baby blankets). Bless you for your excellent instructions. Hi, maybe you can help me I was asking if my double half double crochet should be 40 or 41 stitches. I keep coming out with 41.😢 and the chain is 41
I'm left handed, took me about 4 days re watching this video and doing a practice blanket before I got the hang of it. your video was by far the easiest I have found to re-learn left handed thanks a bunch!!!

Beautiful blanket! Love Bernat material and love crocheting blankets. Will do this pattern soon. New subbie so glad I found your channel
Beautiful, easy and quickly made. Thanks a lot!
I love how soft this yarn is.... I just wish it was cheaper is all.

London Hepson
London Hepson I'm ten and it is super easy
London Hepson I’m eleven and just started learning a day ago
I am ten and I have been crocheting since I was 8.
Yarn, especially this Bernat bulky type, is very forgiving when it comes to eyesight. I plan on crocheting till I die, unless arthritis limits my hand movement. I’m constantly making baby blankets for all the young moms-to-be. The younger generation(s) are in awe of my talent!
Beautiful!!! I’m hoping to work on one for a boy using this yarn.
Love your videos. I made this in one sitting. I used the Bernat Blanket Vintage White with the Sailors Delight as the boarder for a soon to be first time Mother as a shower gift. Thank you for this very easy video. I also plan on doing the Parker Beanie with a sweater to match the Beanie for the Mother to be. Do you have any baby sweater videos. Thank you again.
love it. note i know who it never worked out when i would use that kind of yarn! i needed a big hook lol..thank you for the info :)
May i ask what size hook did you use? The largest I have is a K-6.5 hook.
I love this tutorial! I am finishing up my first skein now. Do you have a video of how to add in the 2nd skein of yarn to continue the blanket?
That’s beautiful 😍 thank you for sharing
simple yet beautiful. thank you for sharing.
I'm brand new to crochet and love your videos! My granddaughter was born one week ago, so I'm making your easy baby blanket. So far so good. But I don't know how to add new yarn. My first ball is now used up. Any tips? Thank yuh for your videos. They are so easy to follow!!!
Just tie the ends of the balls of yarn together and keep going! Weave ends later.
Love this pattern ! So simple and easy and I finally get to use my 15mm hook I'm also expecting! I just made my foundation chain a little bigger (61) and I'll be doing a few more rows. Thank you for your great patterns !

Hi, this is my first time making the baby blanket can you tell me how many 100g ball's of wool does this blanket
Many Thanks
Elspeth Beattie
ps.Your territorial video is great
Beautiful I will try to do for the baby of my daughter many thanks
What a beauty! Bravo
Love this blanket, I'm a beginner and I'm going to give this a go for my baby. Would you start the blanket as you did in this video or like you have a tutorial for, to make the edge stretchy?
I so, so much wish to learn how to Crochet!
Looks easy, but when i try it looks complicated
and hard to do. It’s easy for Crochet experts but, find it difficult as a beginner.
Music I was scared to when I first began. You just got to begin to make something easy like a scarf. Count your chains and crochet back and forth.
Awesome teacher! 😃 Do you have a link for the hook you are using? Cant seem to find a cheap basic one in Canada
Super excited to learn.
Thanks for posting this. I don't usually crochet.
Very pretty. Thank you for sharing
After the chain of 41, are you crocheting into the back of each stitch? I can't tell. Thank you, & congrats on your little boy!
When working into the chain, yes just work in the top loop of the chain. When working all other rows, crochet into the entire stitch (front and back loops). Hope this helps!
thanks so much, that was very easy to follow!
i thank you for the lesson and your very good at explaining.
I have two kids who are having babies and they loved this blanket I made them. They loved it so much they now want me to make an adult size for them. Do you happen to have the measurements for an adult size blanket? And the amount of yarn. Thanks!
