  • A Delta model 33955-DST faucet with low pressure and low flow is reviewed. The water pressure or aerator is believed to be the cause. We troubleshoot the issues and find the root cause. The aerator is determined to be the problem. A new aerator is installed to prove the issue, and then the old aerator is repaired and reinstalled to show that it was fixed. The actions taken are not specific to this one faucet type and could be used on many other models.

Just like the others, I removed the O ring, now it flows. Thanks for the tip!

Awesome video. My Delta two handle faucet kitchen sink had noticeable lowering pressure and wouldn’t shut off for 2 seconds after handles were closed. I removed the little black o-ring from the aerator like you showed and pressure is 100% and sink shuts off immediately. I have a bathroom Delta 2 handle faucet which has always had low pressure. I removed it’s black o-ring and now it has great pressure! Thank you for your video.

Same faucet, same problem. No junk in the aerator at all, but removed that little O ring and it's great again.

The O-ring is the deal. This is so frustrating. I have been trying to figure out what was wrong with the flow in my bathroom for 5 years. And it's the stupid O-ring. I was able to get the cover off the aerator with a pocket knife, then dig out the O-ring with the same pocket knife. Now the flow is too much, but that flow can be moderated with the faucet handle, as it should be.

Interesting. I have a Delta faucet that I’m getting ready to work on. The fact that the O-ring affects it is similar to a Moen water saving shower head I used to have. It too had an O-ring that seems to have become stretched out over time. One question, what is your hot water temp set to? I wonder if very hot water can cause these small rings to become distorted.

That’s a good question. My temp is probably at about 120 degrees. It could be temp, or chemical(chlorine), or just low quality overseas products. Don’t really know which one.
