Wow, I think this is one of the best solar generator reviews I have ever seen. Very thorough, and you explained it so I easily understood it. Thank you.
I bought one already, but waiting to see if they upgrade it a little better so i could get a second one. Thanks for this detailed review. Hard times are approaching, better be a little prepared.
Boom. Exactly what I needed four out little off-grid cabin. THANKS again for your review and for taking the time to answer my questions. I got the 2400wh model and 6 BOUGERV 170w Solar Panels. Doing 2 groups of 3 in series and then in parallel gives me exactly 67.3 volts to the input as long as I use 60 foot of cable. I just tested it on a super sunny day here so I'm sure I may have to play around with it a bit more when I have my final setup but I'm pleased. Now we will rarely have to run our gas generator at the cabin as we rarely go over 1000W. Thanks again.
Last week I bought the 1500 and the Bestek inverter from your website links. I just got the 1500 delivered yesterday and the inverter arrives tomorrow although they originally estimated mid to late April. Keep up the great videos!
Wow, You'r the Man,,, Thats one hell of a discount .... Ive not seen anyone that can give better discount to there followers than you.... Thank You...🙏🙏🙏
Hi, we live in power outages area and we totally needed this! I saw another's review but you are so way more understandable, we loved your style, and especially for me SO EASY to understand when I am not a geek on these subjects. PLUS thx for the great discount, wow, especially in these times this is so necessary, I hope you get abundance million times over for helping others becoming resilient and having a discount. You Rock! We will follow you and listen to your awesome videos! Thank you so so much!!
I own one of these and have been powering my full-size, side-by-side Fridgidaire refrigerator off of it for over a week (supplying 700w of solar). Max overnight use goes from 5 bars to 3 so it should easily be able to run an extra day with no solar available. I live in Houston so we have hurricanes and this is a concern. One thing that DOES bug me is that if the AC is left on overnight (aforementioned fridge) and the sun comes up the next day, the MPPT seems to only charge at half-rate even with full solar (!). I have to power the unit completely down, unplug the solar input, plug it back in and power it back up and it will use the full juice off the solar. Not sure what is going on but very frustrating MPPT operation for continuous use. Keep up the great videos!
Houston FireFox, good to know! I'm in Las Vegas and looking for back up air conditioning and powering my side -by-side Whirlpool refrigerator. Yesterday, it measured 119 degrees on my thermometer, and with my recent heart situation, I need A/C insurance to keep me well.
Thank you for your clear teaching ability and numerous excellent video blogs. I just received my 2400wh MAXOAK bluetti EB240 power station along with two 1000 wh Jackery power stations and two Jackery solar panels. I also have the smallest Jackery... I think I may be ready for the yearly power outages that happens at my Mojave Desert home. I'm 83 and the bluetti EB IS a bit heavy to be moving around very much, but in my case it will be positioned in my kitchen neatly tucked under a pantry shelf waiting for the routine Southern California Edison power to go off--usually when the temp. outside is over 110. I love all these power stations... what great advancements in technology ! Thank you once more Mr. Hobo Tech. Your recommendations are so very much appreciated.
Hi David! Since you live in similar weather conditions (I live & work in Las Vegas), what are you using for air conditioning and what (and how many) solar panels are you using with your Bluetti 2400wh? I'm 66 and last October ended up with a Pacemaker, and I still teach full time. But the summer heat (yesterday it registered 119 degrees on my thermometer!!!) has become a bit too much. I've only had 2 power outages by NV Energy here this season. Thank you!
My kingdom for a 1500/2000W inverter! The fact they kept the 1000W makes me scared that a 1500/2000 will be part of the next iteration and is the only boundary from getting this right now. Great reviews on this stuff!!
I just picked up a used server rack mountable UPS for $75 with a 2000 W inverter. I will upgrade the batteries with Decota lithium brand Iron phosphate lithium batteries for $450. I’m going to hardwire a solar controller with a switch so I can either can charge it from my solar panel or the wall with its built-in charger the whole project will be well under $500 and will outperform units Many times the price
You did not disappoint! Thanks for the video! Your comments about what your findings mean in real life help a lot. Like running a CPAP for maybe a week. So many of these type videos assume the average consumer knows way more than we do. Appreciate the practical explanations very much! PS. If you're ever in Ohio, I will be happy to clean the kitty litter box! Lol.
I have been wanting to purchase a portable solar battery system for the last year. This one completely will take of my needs, 1k inverter is perfect, that's more power than most people are aware of. For the price point this is the best on the market, I ordered one from Amazon using your discount code for $300 off! the total price was $1,699.99 no tax and free shipping. I have watched others reviews, but you by far explained the system in better detail. Thank you for the needed info and providing a real money saving code. I can't wait until I receive mine, estimated arrival 4/7-4/17 2020
D D: I ordered one too. I think my arrival date is a little further out than yours. Also, I wanted to order the Jackery 100W panels, but when I placed my order for the MaxOak, the only type of panels that were left were the Rockpals 80W. I had hoped to hook them up (4 of them) in series, I guess, to get 320Watts, but now I don't know if I can hook more than two of the Rockpals together in parallel. Hope you enjoy your battery when it arrives!
I always enjoy your reviews, they’re straight-forward and very informative. As a direct result of this video I used your link and promo code and bought one to use in my 10x16 cabin. I have a Reliance 30a inlet to 120v outlet thru the wall setup so I can charge the unit from outside the cabin using my gas inverter generator. I’m just getting tuned in to solar though and have two Renogy 100w panels right now, planning to get two more. So thank you Prof, I’m looking forward to delivery.
I think this is pretty close to perfect for my Roadtrek. After listening to you today I feel Bluetti will soon make the upgrades you recommend. Thanks Hobotech. I'll be watching.
Finally got our Bluetti 2400w and hooked it up to our 2-200w Newpowa solar panels. It works great! We can run our 400w A.C. unit, instant pot and anything else we hook up. Excellent review was the clincher to purchase. Now we can boondocks anywhere! Thank you for your reviews!
Hello Susan! I wanted to leave a comment and ask how your setup has been running since the install. Have you found that the inverter has enough wattage for daily/weekly use? Have you made any modifications or concessions since the install?
@@gabrielmarshman2819 hi and we were able to travel 3 1/2 months and over 9000 miles that summer with no issues. The only thing we would do differently would be to put larger watt panels to produce more. However, our budget didn’t allow it at the time. Thanks for asking!
@@susanl4219 that's fantastic news! I'm trying to decide on a unit that will allow the same for a sailboat I bought. What was the model of air conditioner you utilized? Also, thank you for your response :) I love hearing first hand reviews from those who've used these extensively in the field. :)
@@gabrielmarshman2819 I will have to check tomorrow and get back to you. It’s dark now and there are no lights where our camper is kept. Funny you should mention a sailboat. We lived aboard a 32 ft. sailing cruiser for 8 years before settling on land and purchasing a Runaway camper. Though our solar setup on the boat went to batteries with a 1000w inverter. That setup kept us with power quite well.
@@susanl4219 I purchased an '86 Prout Quest, 33ft for the same purpose. I'm always happy to find kindred spirits :) she has 1kw of solar at 12v, but no inverter. I can't decide whether or not to overhaul the existing power supply with an upgraded bank ($$$$$$) or simply use a Bluetti ($$$) for the duration of my travels.
This is the video that answered my questions best, and how I discovered HOBOTECH. My EB240 is still going strong, and I'm always nodding in understanding when you bring the ugly blue box out while testing other modern panels and generators. A solid workhorse. P.S., Yes, you can totally run an InstantPot off of this one, and that cycles off enough that it really doesn't take many Wh at all!
I actually really like the shape and size of this unit! It's so much easier carrying a heavier object like this, suitcase style. One for each side....saves the back.
You have probably already heard this by now, but Bluetti updated their firmware on the 1500 Watt model as well. It is rated at 68 Volts just like your 2400 watt model there in the video, however the tech department told me that it would usually cut out at or a little over 67 volts, JUST like you showed on your video!!! Haha. I happen to get lucky and had problems with my first one and I ended up getting the updated model with the higher voltage input limit. Just thought I might mention it just by some slim chance that you hadn’t heard it. Love your channel! Keep it up, Cheers
Hi, great video as usual! Would you say that the EB240 is suitable to be connected to solar panels that are on the roof of campervan so that it can charge via solar when driving and is it safe to have it constantly connect to the solar panels for full time van life or is it better suited to just solar charging when the van is stationary? I'm asking because the connector that runs the solar into the EB240 doesn't look very sturdy so i wonder if it might unplug itself while driving? Thanks for any help!
I love the super quick little * Except you Will Prowse ;) text that flew by at the 19:12 mark. You and Will need to do a joint review on some challenge ( " I double dog dare you " ) you two master minds come up with.
@@forrestmichnevich7371 No, the 10% was a Memorial week sale. But it was listed at $1899.00 and with Hobo's code it came to $1599.00. So instead of entering the code for 10%, I used the Hobo code.
If your a Nomad living on the road. This isn't a good option if you can't charge it directly from the dash socket without buying another inverter. My jackery plugs in into my dash without additional attachments. I've had it fore two years. Love it (-:
I have two Goal Zero one 1000 and 1400 that cost well over $2900 I’m sad to say. I wish this unit came out first. My one Concern would be the recharge time because I don’t like sitting in the sun or positioning my vehicle for direct sunlight. I preferred to recharge my Equipment with my Honda en2200i. I’ll be glad when some company finally develop A multi-purpose fast charger that could be used on any solar battery. pack With variable voltage and amperage.
Thanks to you, My credit card company just got rich. Twice. My government check now has a purpose. When I’ve recovered from this financial mega bomb, I’ll be consulting with you once again for solar panels. Be more gentle with that one. Please.
Hi Would you be willing to make a video for anyone who rents an apartment or home who wants to offset some of their electric bill with at least a partial Off-Grid power solution? Would it even be possible? Please consider any renter's limitations like not being allowed to drill holes in the walls or access to the roof. My thoughts are placing solar panels on windows attached to a portable power station that looks nice and neat so the wife does not freak out at an out of control Frankenstein DIY project. Thanks Daniel
Funny just had this conversation with a girlfriend, was telling her about these and said this would be much better than a loud generator that I'm sure her Condo association won't allow , said that I believe you could run small heater, mini fridge, and a hot plate ? Because they loose power every winter for a few days and she's miserable she has major health issues otherwise she wouldn't mind.
2nd your request, Daniel!!! I live and teach here in Las Vegas near Nellis AFB and would really like to survive the power black outs during the HOT summers here. My health requires the cooling with some sort of air conditioning, be it a regular integrated home system or like my back up evaporation cooler. Otherwise my needs are simple: laptop, router, coffee maker, microwave, and residential home refrigerator. I rent, have full sun here with roof patio view of entire Las Vegas Valley and surrounding hills. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!
First I would like to say thanks for all the vital information you contribute on your channel. As a first time solar generator buyer I purchased the EB 240 with the 2- 200 watt bluetti solar panel kit. The length of the cable leaves a bit to be desired. I would like to add 40 to 50 ft to this unit if possible but do not want to purchase the wrong cable. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. This is the unit I purchased. I also opted for the 4 yr extended warranty. BLUETTI EB240 Portable Power Station 2400Wh with 2pcs SP200 Solar Panel 200W, Lithium Backup Battery Solar Generator for Home RV Emergency, 1000W AC Outlet , MPPT, Foldable Solar Panel Bundle, Indoor & Outdoor Power Alternative
Naturally I bought the 1500Wh unit a couple of months ago and am just now getting a replacement from Maxoak for it. Now I wish I had waited a few months...
Hi, someone already ask about getting a 2000 watt inverter but is there anything that can be done to get a 1500 watt appliance to work? Great informative videos you put out. Thank you.
I hope the next version shows percents instead of bars. I use percents on my Jackery to see exactly how much battery I used on my CPAP so I know how many more hours I can sleep.
Do you have a video I can watch to see how you charge this bad boy with the (Adjustable DC Power Voltage Converter AC 110V-220V to DC 0-48V Module Switching Power Supply Digital Display 480W Voltage Regulator Transformer) you mentioned? I got the 1500 after watching your video and am looking to set up a fast charger. Love your vids! I just want to see your setup in regards to its wiring so I can purchase one. And if you have a personal link I will use it as well.
I show it being used in this video. It's as simple as wiring an AC plug for the input and 8mm plug for the output. I didn't do a specific video on it. Maybe I should.
@@HOBOTECH Dude, that's awesome! I must of missed it the last 3 times I've watched it lol. Watching again. I would love a tutorial on some of these self-made items. I've been watching videos for awhile but I just don't know what's out there to help, like this one. Haven't seen a lot of gadget videos but would def welcome them.
Looks like a decent unit, but I'm going to have to keep saving for a Titan. The inverter unit separates from the battery for two 33 pound pieces. Can stack additional 2000wh batteries. Can connect up to 2000w of solar (two X 1000w strings up to 150v).
Hobo and Will together kick some serious ass.....Batman and Robin indeed! One is still Road, the other one is more Home now, and they both complement each other nicely......PERFECT! I just wish Batman's Batmobile was a bit more reliable, for his own good.
The EB Series are still the best Workhorse SoGens on the market, It's a pity they never made anEB MkII with a 1500/2000 inverter, The special features of the EB Series is the battery types and the Cast/Extruded Alloy Case and the fact that you could put a whole bunch of them in a row all neat and tidy. I have the EB180/1800wh version and the Huge power means you always have enough power on tap.
HOBOTECH - If you do add that Anderson Connector to the Maxoak Bluetti EB240 as a 2nd Charging Input. Would you please do a short video showing how you did it? I'm thinking using a Anderson PowerPole Panel Mount for mine. For Example - tinyurl.com/yachs6bc or tinyurl.com/mvklr6g or tinyurl.com/y862q3tm might fit behind the front panel. All it would take is drilling a circular or rectangular hole to mount the unit (if there is enough room behind the plastic panel for it to fit. The possible advantage of this is that it would make for a clean installation. I do not know if you could use a dual socket version (like I linked above) to hook up two solar panels for a simple series input. If not, at least a single Anderson input version would still be a nice upgrade! Also what do you think about doing a Series / Parallel setup using a Anderson Power Distribution Block like his item tinyurl.com/jokmlt4 combined with multiple Jackery SolarSaga 100 Solar Panels? Although using multiple SolarSaga Panels would be a lot more expensive than Fixed Glass Panels. It would make for a absolutely killer portable setup! I'm a Amateur Radio Operator, and I'm thinking this would be a good way to use my EB240 for Comms, my ARB Fridge, CPAP, and all other electronic devices! Hopefully if you haven't added your Anderson Connector yet, I've given a few good ideas to bounce off of everyone's brains! What does everyone think about this setup?
I just got a 6300watt power station (craftsman Generator) with a 9100 watt surge I got it used for $300 added $50 in parts and tune up . It runs about 8 hours at full load on a tank of fuel. Total investment $350 It's heavy but has wheels. I can recharge the fuel tank in about 5 minutes
That's one way to guarantee social distancing up to a half mile! So about 8 gallons gas / day for a week camping = 56 gallons @ $2/gal = >$100 + $1.99 for a bag of earplugs + cost of a chiropractor afterwards. Quite the bargain!
@@HOBOTECH Actually For camping I use the Sportsman you recommended and I purchased for $149 at Home Depot. Love that thing, this 6300 watt monster is for running the entire house And I have done the most I can to quiet it down. It lives outside about 30 feet from the house , with doors closed it's not bad at all .
@@HOBOTECH Genny was at the current price levels I was seeing out there, The 4x 100 watt panels were about 125 each free shipping, I got the wiring and two connector thingies first and they look high quality. Sound okay? Sorry I had no idea you had a discount code. I paid 2k bucks for this "kit"
Except Will Powers LOL. Received my explorer 1000 and about a week later got the 2 solar saga 100's I need to review your video on how to make the cable to connect both panels to the 1000. in my 1st test I ran my CPAP on 12v and only used 7% vor 8 hrs of use. next night ran on ac and it used 13% for B Hrs.
Thanks much. 3 Renogy 100 watt rigid panels used to go over 67.5 open circuit voltage, but 3 new version Renogy panels are under 67.3, FYI. And 300 watts is sufficient power for 2400 daily watt hours IMO (in Southern California near the ocean.) The new Bluetttis take more voltage and have higher inverter output. I run a Commercial Chef microwave on full blast on my 2400, which is just under 1000 watts on full blast. I have to flip off my dedicated power strip to my mini fridge when I max the Bluetti out with the microwave.
Thanks for the in depth reviews on your channel! It's a much better way to do reviews than, "This power brick is really cool. Buy it!" like so many others. Being a techie myself, I prefer the hard data your tests provide. I have yet to buy one since I assumed they all had the same cheaply made Chinese internals and were all about the same. I would seriously consider a MAXOAK now.
That,s what i am looking for in a small van build. But that hand needs to fold down then that thing is just what i need thank you for a GREAT HOBOTECH VIDEO and test.
Reminds me of the 1970's Portable Color Tv's ! LOL I guess if one man can move it, it's portable ? Two of my DIY Prismatic 100Ah LiFePo4 batteries comes out to just about the same weight. That's just the batteries. Add a 1000W inverter and Solar control another 10-15lb. This is Nice looking unit. Not showing the lower Inverter load could mess you up if you forget your using the thing . Wish I could swing buying one. Just out of reach . Have to live with what I have at this time.
I purchased the 2400wh Bluetti based on your review. I had been watching a lot of reviews and found yours most helpful. Your discount on Amaz was $95 dollars. That was helpful. I also used your discount on the 170W solar panels from BougeRV . These I ordered directly from Bouge RV and saved approx $100 dollars on 3 units. We are using this as a back up for a power outage. We plan to attach the solar panels to our roof and store the bluetti in the house until we need it. Not hooked up yet. Waiting on the solar panels still. O K, so here is the question, , , How do you protect the Bluetti and the solar panels from an EMP blast? Do they have to be in use to sustain damage? I would welcome your response or even one from one of your many in the know subscribers.
I was only able to get 1.8 KWH (75%) from mine. This is the 3rd video I've watched on battery capacity testing. They all did it differently lol. The 2 others used the killawatt and figured in inverter losses.
Thanks for your review.... It is basically a 1500 with more capacity and a few little things here and there. I wish for: 1) A more powerful inverter (1500 W) and true higher peak capacities (2000 W). 2) Upgraded HW for a higher/faster charging time, both solar and AC something the Goal Zero (1400, 3000) allows you to do if using their 2 ways concurrently. But hey, nothing is perfect and you have to compromise between price, features. portability/size and capabilities. This is the BEST DEAL so far in that battery size.
Many smaller power banks will power phone, laptops and TV, but during power outage, bigger items, fridge, and as i mentioned, small heater, electric skillet, things for cooking and to stay warm or cool . This would be great for the things you mention, but can you please recommend a second unit that isn't extremely heavy for essential things. Thanks
Hello, this was great video. If l won’t be using it and will just be storing it until I need it, should I use it once a month or every other month, how far down should I drain it down to before I charge it back to 100% for storage? Thanks a lot, Jim
Hi professor, thanks for being so professional and thanks for this rewiev. Im going to get something like this later or but for now im going in another direction. Ive been living in a camper 2 years, loved it, moved back to apartment, dont like it so im moving back , this time into a van. Situation: I live in a city with charging possibilities all around in public places like restaurants, librarys and cafee shops. Also I work at a gym that i have acces to a 24 hours and at care centers where i sometimes work over night, so charging through wall wont be a problem, therefore i wont go for solar panels (that can be ripped of the van and giving tip of to burglers) - instead im looking for a small portable powehouse that i can easily put in my bag ( witch i cary around anyway) and that will fill my needs. My needs are: to be able to, in one charge, at least be able to charge my phone and run my laptop for 10 + hours, im also going to use the powerhouse for lights and maybe a little fan at night. For me, fast charging and light weight is the most important issue since my plan is to cary that thing with me every second/third day or so. To be able to charge fast ( around 3-4 hours) and then stay online for 2-3 days on one charge would be awesome, cuz im kind of fed up allready having to stay at the restaurant for around 1 hour to charge my phone and laptop, i couldnt possible stay 6 hours lol, and i dont wanna be at the gym "all the time "! =D So im not using fridge, AC, TV and stuff like that, only phone, lights and laptop - what would be your recomandation? Thnk you - Don Gabo in Sweden
Can you connect inputs to charge this from the cig lighter (with additional inverter) and a solar panel at the same time, so when I shut off my vehicle the device continues to receive power (if the sun is out for my roof top panels)?
Great video and info. One thing I haven't seen (I m new subc catching up) on your videos I ve seen is length of cables to charge from panels or other source DC and cable gauges to watts effectively output to inverter etc...DC goes down a lot relative to gauge and length....hope my English is OK...bests
I live in California. I bought one and solar panels to keep our refrigerator running when they cut the power during our annual firestorms. What do I need to do the rest of the year to prolong the longevity of the system? Disconnect? Dark cover the panels? Other?
These reviews are entertaining enough to just sit and watch. I like this unit, and I think it is the limit of portable level weight. I don't know about polymer cells. They have a bad rep in the Hobby King world, but this is LG. If you want big value buy the 6 kwh LG modules from Tom at Battery Hookup. He's been moving those for a while at $600. You need to buy an inverter, but that's $200 and up for a 36v unit that matches the pack voltage. If you want cheap solar go to Santan. If I build it, I don't use a barrel connector for 500 watts. I like XT 60. Realistically, for people who do not want to learn enough to put the pieces together, this is a good deal. It's more a comparison of buying the stuff like Battleborn, or something like these units. Either one should work. It's hard to push DIY in anything. Prowse has kind of become a salesman for Battle Born, and Battle Born Billy just bought himself another Tesla. People being laid off right and left. Bad optics.
I bought a Bluetti EB240. Do I need to completely discharge the unit before recharging? If I do not use up the entire charge, say it has 3 bars left, can the unit hold its charge to use the rest during another blackout, or will this shorten the longevity of the battery? Would undercharging the unit to 80% and leaving it for storage extend its longevity? Or, is it recommended to charge it to 100%, since Bluetti rates the EB240 to last 2,000 to 2,500 charges?
I was thinking about the Jackery but then heard this has 1400 cycles vs. Jackery's 500. The increased capacity and charge cycles makes the Bluetti higher price seem more worth it.
This all-in-one package is more and more getting my attention. In a Promaster camper van I would be using this type of solar generator to power 12 volt lights, water pump, TV, and USB outlets all connected to a fuse box. How would you connect this EB240 to the fuse box? Thanks
We just bought the Bluetti 2400 from you. What brands of solar panels would be best. We are considering a suitcase type of panel. Thank you for your youtube channel. Very informative. And Thank you for the great discount. Jennifer and Edward
OK, I just switched computers and this one is OK. Black and Bluetti! Love it. Good price for me. I'm still confused about series vs parallel connection of solar panels. I have two 100 watt panels. Each outputs 56 watts. Together - still only 56 watts! There's only one way to connect the "Y" adapter. What am I doing wrong?
If you get 56 watts from one, and two still only gives you 56 watts, it's probably not your panels that's limiting it, but the load. As far as connecting parallel vs series connections, a quick google should bring up some diagrams for each.
Bluetti HATES single solar panels (remember the 16 volt minimum limit ... it's more like 18v for MPPT to kick in). You need to have at least 2 in series for proper charging. Parallel when you want to add pairs of panels to that.
I've been watching your show quite a bit and I'm described for you I've been learning a lot from you and I appreciate it I'll keep watching but I'm thinking about getting the jackery at the 1001 1001 might be the only one I could afford right now right now at least for a month I won't be able to afford anything they didn't think take care of people watching
Be wary of third party warranties.... I got one for my mini dishwasher. Just over $200 for the dishwasher. When I needed the warranty only two months later, the warranty company only valued my appliance as $1, no matter how many times I submitted a copy of my invoice. Would not accept my claim to repair the dishwasher. Thankfully I managed to fix the dishwasher myself.

Did you buy it? Is it any good?
Thanks for showing the solar panel hookup. Good to know that the Bluetti can regulate the maximum input power without not damaging anything.
@@captamerica3693 look forward to the video of the camping trip!
Chris Squyres I’m setting it up to run my computer network and refrigerator for up to three days without solar input
Capt America hey, please post a video of this! ...........I may need one of these!
Lol.
Got one of these about 3 weeks ago. You answered my question on pass thur charging and discharging thanks
I just bought 2 and am really happy I did after watching your video!
Thanks for the review. I just purchased an EB240 and 600w of Rich Solar 24v panels.
Love the test music...so suspenseful, exciting, the fan is turning...turning...turning......!!!
OHHH that 30w tip about the inverter really helps. I plugged an LED lamp into it once and thought the load display was broken :x
This video sold me. Purchased, and thanks a ton for the promo code. Subbed for life!
Just bought the 1500 the other day and I love it. Except for the plugs in the back and no warning beeps to tell you the power is about to run out
Unit arrived. When I plugged it in, it read charging at 222w so it looks like they have been improved.
I love the battery capacity tests! Thank you for taking the 30+ hours each time to test this especially on the >2000 Wh capacity power stations
I wish they would make one with a 2K inverter. I need my full size K cup in my sprinter. Can you do a vid on sub 1K appliances for off grid guys?
This is the video that answered my questions best, and how I discovered HOBOTECH. My EB240 is still going strong, and I'm always nodding in understanding when you bring the ugly blue box out while testing other modern panels and generators. A solid workhorse. P.S., Yes, you can totally run an InstantPot off of this one, and that cycles off enough that it really doesn't take many Wh at all!
Can you do a video for electrical dummies? Like what watts, volts and series/parallel means.
Search Will Prowse Electricity for Beginners
I actually really like the shape and size of this unit! It's so much easier carrying a heavier object like this, suitcase style. One for each side....saves the back.
i wish i had a higher i.q so i could understand all this stuff. all i want is to be able to plug something in and have power.
I love the styling of this unit......it reminds me of a 1950's classic suitcase.
I love the super quick little * Except you Will Prowse ;) text that flew by at the 19:12 mark. You and Will need to do a joint review on some challenge ( " I double dog dare you " ) you two master minds come up with.
Their site gives 10% off and your code worked!! I got it for $1599.00 no tax and free shipping.
Thanks so much.
Did you have to apply two codes to get the 10 percent and the hobo discount too? How did that work?
@@forrestmichnevich7371 No, the 10% was a Memorial week sale. But it was listed at $1899.00 and with Hobo's code it came to $1599.00. So instead of entering the code for 10%, I used the Hobo code.
Love your videos and especially the little part at the end where your cat talks into the microphone that is so cool. Lol 💕
Talking cats are not cheap.
If your a Nomad living on the road. This isn't a good option if you can't charge it directly from the dash socket without buying another inverter. My jackery plugs in into my dash without additional attachments. I've had it fore two years. Love it (-:
Thank you for the review, your reviews are always very helpful & through.
Please.
Also, it should be obvious that I used your promo code. I’m happy to help your income stream.
Just arrived yesterday so your review was quite timely. Purchased it with the solar panels. I can't wait to push it to the limit.
Thanks.
Hi
Would you be willing to make a video for anyone who rents an
apartment or home who wants to offset some of their electric bill with at least
a partial Off-Grid power solution? Would it even be possible? Please consider any
renter's limitations like not being allowed to drill holes in the walls or
access to the roof. My thoughts are placing solar panels on windows attached to
a portable power station that looks nice and neat so the wife does not freak out
at an out of control Frankenstein DIY project.
Thanks
Daniel
Would you recommend it a year later?
These generators are awesome but they would be a home run if the batteries were easily replaceable and recyclable.
i got the MAXOAK Portable Power Station BLUETTI EB150 1500Wh for 900 i think its a pretty good deal
"Except you Will Prowse" Hilarious! I don't know if Will is into the whole mock troll war thing, but I hope so.
Just having some fun. I know he watches. Was my girlfriend's idea, actually.
Thank you.
No. The only option would be to open the case and hard wire your own inverter to the battery.
I've been going back and forth with what to buy. I ordered, using your code, during this video, so thank you!
If it had a 1500 watt inverter i would have purchased one.
I hope the next version shows percents instead of bars. I use percents on my Jackery to see exactly how much battery I used on my CPAP so I know how many more hours I can sleep.
lol
$2,300 and I got 4 solar panels included
It would take 4000 watt hours to run 5000 btu air conditioner for 8 hrs. So, two of this power stations needed for comfortale night sleep. 3800$.
How about using a induction hob on one of these
Hobo and Will together kick some serious ass.....Batman and Robin indeed! One is still Road, the other one is more Home now, and they both complement each other nicely......PERFECT!
I just wish Batman's Batmobile was a bit more reliable, for his own good.
1000 watt inverter = dealbreaker. Can some manufacturer just get this right?
J Dick I second that. The only one I have seen that can do 1500 watts continuous is the goal zero.
1kw does everything I need. Works for me.
José Luis Cáceres do you have the source?
José Luis Cáceres Would you know how many watt hours the AC200 battery will be?
Yeah, I second this.
i ordered mine and the code worked. thanks for all the tech help. not my cup of tea to old to learn it..
You look like a healthcare worker. Where is your mask? Seriously, nice review.
Mine should be here this week with a solar kit 4x100 watt panels. Super excited to be entering the solar energy world.
I hope you got it from Bluetti direct with my discount and didn't get ripped off by a certain 3rd party that sells an overpriced 4 panel kit.
Man I love that music when you are testing the capacity.
Hey Tom another great video. I'm using the Jackery 1000 to power Amazon Basic 700 watt microwave, no problem.
We are using this as a back up
for a power outage.
I would welcome your response or
even one from one of your many in the know subscribers.
You need to put it unplugged inside of a Faraday cage. Many use an insulated metal trash can that is grounded.
HOBOTECH I get putting the power station in a faraday cage. What about the panels?
@@davidrawls369 If they are unplugged at the time of EMP they should survive.
Just came across your channel researching Bluetti's. One of the best damned review channel I've watched on anything. Thanks, man.
I wish for:
1) A more powerful inverter (1500 W) and true higher peak capacities (2000 W).
Would also like to see a second regulated 12V output. Run 2 12V heated blankets as an example.
Best review ever, I would like to know, considering the 2500 charges at 80% if this bluetti uses lifepo4 .. thanks!
So im not using fridge, AC, TV and stuff like that, only phone, lights and laptop - what would be your recomandation?
Thnk you - Don Gabo in Sweden
Can you connect inputs to charge this from the cig lighter (with additional inverter) and a solar panel at the same time, so when I shut off my vehicle the device continues to receive power (if the sun is out for my roof top panels)?
Great video and info. One thing I haven't seen (I m new subc catching up) on your videos I ve seen is length of cables to charge from panels or other source DC and cable gauges to watts effectively output to inverter etc...DC goes down a lot relative to gauge and length....hope my English is OK...bests
Looks like it was made with tear drop trailers in mind. The passthrough storage doors are exactly the size of that unit.
I got mine today! $295 in discounts!
I live in California. I bought one and solar panels to keep our refrigerator running when they cut the power during our annual firestorms. What do I need to do the rest of the year to prolong the longevity of the system? Disconnect? Dark cover the panels? Other?
Can I run three of the Newpowa 200W or even 210W panels or do I have to stick with three 180w panels? Thanks for your time
These reviews are entertaining enough to just sit and watch. Bad optics.
Thanks for waking up at the crack of dawn and uploading this video! Stay safe and be healthy!
James Dean 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I lived in Nevada myself for 7 years, I know 🤣🤣🤣.
Stay safe and take care!
Can you charge it via the power wall charger and solar at the same time?
I was thinking about the Jackery but then heard this has 1400 cycles vs. Jackery's 500. The increased capacity and charge cycles makes the Bluetti higher price seem more worth it.
With my discount makes it a no brainer really.
You are the best MrHoBo, thanks for this.
This all-in-one package is more and more getting my attention. In a Promaster camper van I would be using this type of solar generator to power 12 volt lights, water pump, TV, and USB outlets all connected to a fuse box. How would you connect this EB240 to the fuse box? Thanks
Not advised. The 12v output is only 10 amps. You're better off plugging it into your shore power line.
We just bought the Bluetti 2400 from you. What brands of solar panels would be best. We are considering a suitcase type of panel. Thank you for your youtube channel. Very informative. And Thank you for the great discount.

Will it cause any damage to the 2400Wh Bluetti EB240 if it is transported laying on it's side?
Once they make the fix I will buy one.
