Can this or any of the solar power stations (Bluetti, Eco Flow) be connected to a transfer switch with breakers for various rooms/outlets in the house?
it's not designed to be - typically whole house transfer switches are part of a very much larger system - this is a 48v 35ah box - whole house you could easily need ten times the amount of amp hours
it's such a tiny box - rather than paying an electrician to do alllllll kinds of horribly expensive stuff to your home for a device that will only be able to power ANY devices other than lamps, laptops, small exectronics for a very short amount of time - just take it to the room you want to use it in and put 1 extension cord! - lol come one hobo - don't send them over a cliff like that dude@@HOBOTECH
Pecron has some very strange price for their products. The EB3000 has 3072Wh capacity, basically it's just bunch of batteries, priced at $1399; The E3000 power station, has 3108Wh, has charger/inverter/outlet/control panel etc all that extra guts, priced the same $1399. How can you explain that? I've been waiting for the EB3000 price drop for a while. According to E3000 price, the EB3000 at around $1000 seems make more sense.
All of their previous products without "LFP" in the name use NMC lithium ion with a much shorter battery life. They don't sell well so they are cheaper.
You are awesome. Please consider calling tech support for every product and see if you can get them on the phone and how long the process takes. Just an idea.
Excellent presentation. Thanks for sharing. Love the 12v output options and the high amp loads. Jackery and Bluetti are going to lose truck/van/boat/car business to this unit since they have practically abandoned 12v output options in their newest units. The Pecron E1500 Pro also has some very nice 12v output options. For use in my truck/car/boat where I need strong 12v options - I would pick either of these Pecron units over the newer Jackery/Bluetti units.
That's really odd with the solar input. My string of panels produce 88 volts VOC and it charges at 660-690 watts. Wonder if they made some changes in a firmware update?
Can this unit handle Series/parallel 93volts (VOC) 77volts (normal) @ 17.2amps (8.6amps x 2) . Over paneling about 1200w to feed a steady 700w at peak hrs of the day. I assume the unit will reduce to advertised 15amp input? Thanks for your time.
Wouldn't it be cheaper just to buy a second unit than the additional battery. You also could add more solar panels that way and charge both the units at the same time.Maybe even charge both in one day.🎉
This is a really great review. This Pecron has some really nice features. I actually like that it can handle different voltage ranges on the solar charging but I do agree there should be some overlap to the input voltages. Glad you gave it the Hobotech Award.
I have one on the way to me now...$599 on Amazon. Used a 5% discount code and ended up paying $569.05! If that price lasts, I'll probably buy another unit...use one while the other is charging. Seems like that would be more practical than buying an expansion battery.
And if you go to slickdeals and search this model, there's a couple of coupon codes to bring it down another $40. I'm thinking of picking up 2 to get the 30% tax credit (over 3kh).
Hi Professor Hobo, little question, I would want to connect a AC fridge permanently to a Pecron E1500LFP. I would connect 2, 300 watt panels to it in series. the AC fridge uses roughly between 300 and 550 wh a day. If I understand correctly, I would need to also take into account the 1044 wh of the AC idle usage a day and add this to the consomption of the fridge right? That would mean roughly between 1344 to 1599 wh per day, which on a sunny day would work with the panels probably but it the winter it wouldn't. So next to the solar input I would also need to use the AC input at all times. Is it possible to use solar input and AC input at the same time, and connect a fridge to it (24/7)? thanks for you help! I'm still new at this:)
if you do enough digging they are coming out with a 3600 wh version. I have 2 pecron 2000 lfp, 1 600lfp and the whole river 2 line. These pecrons do the job as good as any of the big names. Plus the AC efficiency on the 2000lfp models are at or above 90%
Where did you read about this? This is almost perfect for me except I'm hoping they add DC-DC charging at a faster rate than the lighter plug. Or a second MPPT input that takes more than 100 Watts so that I can run Panels on one side and an external DC to DC charger on the second port.
Wow, Dr Hobo - Pecron even fixed the USBC ports to put out 100W instead of only 64W in the two previous versions of this generator. Thanks for the continued excellent and comprehensive look at these ‘generator’ power bank products. You’re the GURU!!
Please consider adding repair details to your 'solar generator' reviews. Specifically, where does it get sent for repairs? And who pays for shipping? Both ways? One way?
Great news from pecron about this model :) P.S. Pecron has just extended the warranty of the e1500lfp (even if you already bought it) to 5 YEARS !!!!! P.P.S. Make sure that you get over to the website and register your system today and extend your warranty from 2 years to 5 years !!!!! P.P.P.S. :)
@@RamblinBobReviews yeah thanks! Think that's pudding me over the edge to this unit from a bluetti and anker that are similar but this one seems to beat out with ports
The major flaw in this is the two solar charge ports. If you have two 12V 200W panels you can’t get maximum benefit from your panels. If you run them in series your at 24V which isn’t enough to trigger the minimum required 32V for the main charge controller. So you need to use the smaller port which is limited to 100W.
Just get a extra panel. You won’t even get the max 400w of charging with 2 200 watts because of efficiency. 3 will max out the charging capabilities even on a slight cloudy day.
I was seriously considering pre-ordering this from Pecron, but 478.35 dollars for shipping to Canada is ridiculous. Delivery with 2x200W solar panels is even worse at 499 dollars. Especially when comparing to the free shipping offered by competitors like Bluetti.
I'm excited to see where prices go in 2024, already this unit is $100 cheaper than when you reviewed it. To think prices will go back up in the short term isn't realistic in my opinion as China has to slash prices because of a limited market, stiff competition and thier weak economy.
I tried re-charging my E1500LFP with a Pulsar 1200 gasoline generator but it wouldn't charge. Am I doing something wrong? Charging by wall outlet works fine - still waiting on my solar panels.
@@YouLookinAtMe-Bro Thanks. I have since upgraded to an 1800 watt gas generator. Now it works fine in recharging my Pecron solar station. I now use two 200W panels for about 3 hours during peak sunlight hours to get the solar station to about 70%. Then, I use 10 minutes of the gas generator to get to 90% before hooking it up to my ac unit. It's now a daily routine to save on energy consumption in the summer. Look forward to when those 3000W added battery packs become more affordable.
Curious re ups capability.... Let's say the power goes out and the ups kicks in perfectly But the power is out for a while and it runs out of power and shuts down When grid power kicks back in, what mode does start in (does it start?)? Does it pass through power and charge up? If the power goes back out, is it still running in ups mode? Or do your devices lose power the second time around
Love the review. Another satisfied Pecron customer here. I've had the E2000LFP and the EB-3000 for just under a year and it generates a total of 4992 wh. Use it everyday and my only complaint is the ac charger bricks. Then again, I bought a second one so I'm able to fast charge at a max of 1200w from ac or a generator as needed. It's been a great company, quick to answer any questions and good customer service. Looking to buy my second EB-3000 this winter to max out at 8064 Wh.
I have the Pecron E2000 and this thing has a lot of upgrades from that model. The app, the automatic detection of expansion batteries, the UPS feature and the faster charging speeds from the wall. Very cool to see the company is making so many improvements.
@@joedowdiii Well feature wise definitely not. The 1,500 has all the upgrades I listed above. The e2000 of course is 500 more watts, allows for 400w more solar charging and on the top end has 1000 watts more expandable battery storage space. But the 1500 is cheaper right now I think by 200 on preorder. This one is definitely "better" in the sense of capability and less bugs. The 2000 is just a little bigger.
@@joedowdiii This will keep the fridge cool, lights on, phone charged great for any normal power outage. Anything extended and you will need to charge it with panels or a gas generator. You just have to calculate your usage and divide it up. Since I bought my solar generator, everything I buy I look at watt usage now. A fan, a heater, a light, so I know in an emergency how far my battery will get me.
The battery is out of proportion because I think its more focused on them releasing a 3600 w station. At least thats the rumor. Thats the one I will be interested in. It's good to see the big boys getting some competition. Great review as always.
Very good review. The ONLY thing that bothers me about this is the AC parasitic drain. It's huge drain because of the inverter size. That's where the expansion batteries come in.
Hobo, did you make a mistake ? At the 1:50 mark, you said " the combined solar charging of 800 watts can fully charge this unit just under 3 hours ? That would be around 2400 watts total. Did you mean to say " just under 2 hours" ?
My car has 400 watt inverter to AC. Can you set this one to only pull 400 watt input on the AC in the app or on the unit? Currently have AC180 that when in silent mode pulls 287 watts.
Looks impressive. Only nits are lack of Bluetooth for the app support, and I would like to see another 100w usb-c. But overall very impressed. Pecron has just entered the vendors I look at when getting my next unit.
Its still 899 today 3 weeks later ...just a heads up..in case you still want to snag this unit....Man Im on the fence...The Newest 3600 LFP releases in 2024❤🎉😊
New subscriber here. Looking best option for van conversion and like the 12v-30amp output o connect to 12V fuse panel. What is the difference between this 1500LFP 30amp port and the Ecoflow pro Anderson port?
The upcoming E3600LFP looks like a beast. 92lbs. dual 1200W MPPT charge controllers, RV TT 30A 120V output, 3072 wat hours of capacity, 3500W inverter and supports the same EP2000 external batteries as the E1500LFP.
Are the fans too loud when charging it from a wall outlet? Can I change the watt settings when charging from wall outlet? 1400 watts seem to aggressive to the batteries.
One thing to note about the extended battery is that it is a 48V version, which is not compatible with the E2000LFP that uses a 24V battery, so don’t get the two mixed up. I believe the new model is something like EP3000-48V. Also the size of the battery is probably designed to also work with their even larger 3600LFP(?) coming out later. They still could have done a better job with the stacking though like you said. As for the 100W input, I was of the understanding that was more for car charging and by having a different connector you can’t accidentally plug it in to the high input port and fry your car’s 12V circuit or blow a fuse. On my E600LFP that has the same two inputs with the same voltage ranges printed (albeit lower total power) I was able to charge with a single 200W 18V panel in the 400W port. Pecron’s solar chargers take up to 30 seconds to kick in so you have to wait sometimes. This unit may be different though since it is 48V internally. Thank you for spotting that current drop when charging above 80V. I was thinking of getting this to run my office off grid and overpanelling slightly with 4 200W panels in series. Many panels have slightly more than 20Vmax so this is something to be wary of. Bit of a shame about the inverter idle consumption for using it all the time as a solar UPS. Hopefully now they have an app and updatable firmware that can be improved along with adjustable max charging rate and also adjustable charge and discharge limits for prolonging the life of the battery.

Yes they can be. Bluetti and Ecoflow even sell kits for it.
it's such a tiny box - rather than paying an electrician to do alllllll kinds of horribly expensive stuff to your home for a device that will only be able to power ANY devices other than lamps, laptops, small exectronics for a very short amount of time - just take it to the room you want to use it in and put 1 extension cord!
Pretty sure it's different battery chemistries. You'd want LFP.
All of their previous products without "LFP" in the name use NMC lithium ion with a much shorter battery life. They don't sell well so they are cheaper.
@@HOBOTECH That explained it! You are the best! Thank you very much!
Thanks!@@nikolajhol
Can you charge the battery with generator?
Yes
how could I plug this into my 30amp RV?
Just like any other appliance.
$750 now
Can't pre-order. Their website is "broken" ... Oh well.
Can it run PC Gaming Desktop? 17:08
Easily, I can't imagine they draw much more than 150-200w at most (my pretty crappy laptop draws 95 when rendering a video)
What are the volts and amp hours on this 1536 watt battery...??
The previous model Pecrons are 24V- this one is 48V..Have to do the math to get the AH.
@@user-hr5yj2fo1h thank you....I just wrote them asking if I pre order how long before I can get it..???
It's a 48v battery so divide wh by 48v to get Ah.
You are awesome. Please consider calling tech support for every product and see if you can get them on the phone and how long the process takes. Just an idea.
Pecron now updated their warranty on the website to 5 years! Great deal.
Greetings, I would like to know which model is better, PECRON E1500LFP 48v or PECRON E2000LFP 24v? based on your experience with these products
That's really odd with the solar input. My string of panels produce 88 volts VOC and it charges at 660-690 watts. Wonder if they made some changes in a firmware update?
Thank u for introducing me to this, I ordered one😊 love your reviews Hobo..
Your reviews are the best out there!!! Thanks for all the great info!!!
As of May 30, 2024 it's $699 on their web site and the warrantee have been increased to 5 years!
Any reason I can't series connect 3 100ah lifepo4 batteries to the dc solar input on the solar generator?
Can this unit handle Series/parallel 93volts (VOC) 77volts (normal) @ 17.2amps (8.6amps x 2) . Over paneling about 1200w to feed a steady 700w at peak hrs of the day. I assume the unit will reduce to advertised 15amp input? Thanks for your time.
Wouldn't it be cheaper just to buy a second unit than the additional battery. You also could add more solar panels that way and charge both the units at the same time.Maybe even charge both in one day.🎉
Exactly my thoughts.
I have two Pecrons , the 600 and the 2000. Love them both and have preordered the 1500LFP. Wish the extra battery packs were one model fits all
This is a really great review. This Pecron has some really nice features. I actually like that it can handle different voltage ranges on the solar charging but I do agree there should be some overlap to the input voltages. Glad you gave it the Hobotech Award.
It is $600 now lol
I have one on the way to me now...$599 on Amazon.
Used a 5% discount code and ended up paying $569.05!
If that price lasts, I'll probably buy another unit...use one while the other is charging.
Seems like that would be more practical than buying an expansion battery.
And if you go to slickdeals and search this model, there's a couple of coupon codes to bring it down another $40. I'm thinking of picking up 2 to get the 30% tax credit (over 3kh).
599.00 😂
Great review. Thank you. Maybe I missed it, will both MPPT controllers charge at the same time (e.g. small and larger array)?
if you do enough digging they are coming out with a 3600 wh version.
I 2nd this. Where did you hear about the 3600wh version?
This is the second mentioned of this I've seen and asked the same question but no replies. Google didn't produce any results either @@that1guyscamaro
Wow, Dr Hobo - Pecron even fixed the USBC ports to put out 100W instead of only 64W in the two previous versions of this generator. Thanks for the continued excellent and comprehensive look at these ‘generator’ power bank products. You’re the GURU!!
Man whips out his Pecron, uses his Jackery, and causes an Ecoflow. Oupes!
Very nice. 😂
Hat tip.
Hi I was wondering if Pecron supports EV charging where we could charge it at like a level 2 tesla charger with like a Tesla tap?
Please consider adding repair details to your 'solar generator' reviews. Specifically, where does it get sent for repairs? And who pays for shipping? Both ways? One way?
Great news from pecron about this model :)
P.S. Pecron has just extended the warranty of the e1500lfp (even if you already bought it) to 5 YEARS !!!!!
P.P.S. Make sure that you get over to the website and register your system today and extend your warranty from 2 years to 5 years !!!!!
P.P.P.S. :)
Where are you seeing this? I'm looking at their website in the US and it says 1+1 under warrranty
Oh nm, I see it now at the bottom of the page. Boy, they're not exactly highlighting that!
@@davidp6839 That is why we are spreading the message :)
You have to make sure you match your panels to this. Not the other way around.
Just get a extra panel. You won’t even get the max 400w of charging with 2 200 watts because of efficiency. 3 will max out the charging capabilities even on a slight cloudy day.
I currently have 2 100 watt panels in series connected and it is charging on a somewhat overcast day at 100 watts
I.say great Scott . This would be cheaper than buying another eb300 battery. Thank HT hope your doing well. Great review ❤
I was seriously considering pre-ordering this from Pecron, but 478.35 dollars for shipping to Canada is ridiculous. Delivery with 2x200W solar panels is even worse at 499 dollars. Especially when comparing to the free shipping offered by competitors like Bluetti.
Prof. Hobo what is the name of the music you use on the battery capacity? Kinda sounds like some music from old tv shows.
I'm excited to see where prices go in 2024, already this unit is $100 cheaper than when you reviewed it. To think prices will go back up in the short term isn't realistic in my opinion as China has to slash prices because of a limited market, stiff competition and thier weak economy.
Picked this up yesterday, it was on sale for 599$.
I tried re-charging my E1500LFP with a Pulsar 1200 gasoline generator but it wouldn't charge. Am I doing something wrong? Charging by wall outlet works fine - still waiting on my solar panels.
Not sure, but I believe I saw a video somewhere that said it needs 1800 watts.
Great info!
This I think is competitive with the EcoFlow that I got and I think it may be better.
Curious re ups capability....
Let's say the power goes out and the ups kicks in perfectly
But the power is out for a while and it runs out of power and shuts down
When grid power kicks back in, what mode does start in (does it start?)?
I think im going with the 2000lfp as well. I dont care about the brick, its either going to be charged in the wall at home or by solar abroad.
I have the Pecron E2000 and this thing has a lot of upgrades from that model. The app, the automatic detection of expansion batteries, the UPS feature and the faster charging speeds from the wall. Very cool to see the company is making so many improvements.
so is the e2000 better than this one in the video?
@@joedowdiii Well feature wise definitely not. The 1,500 has all the upgrades I listed above. The e2000 of course is 500 more watts, allows for 400w more solar charging and on the top end has 1000 watts more expandable battery storage space. But the 1500 is cheaper right now I think by 200 on preorder. This one is definitely "better" in the sense of capability and less bugs. The 2000 is just a little bigger.
@@dbrennan1523 ok so for just a temporary storm back up the 1500 should be fine ?
@@joedowdiii This will keep the fridge cool, lights on, phone charged great for any normal power outage. Anything extended and you will need to charge it with panels or a gas generator. You just have to calculate your usage and divide it up. Since I bought my solar generator, everything I buy I look at watt usage now. A fan, a heater, a light, so I know in an emergency how far my battery will get me.
Thank you for the input I ordered the 2000 as I don't need apps and anything else just bsck up power and they are both 899 right now
How do you rate this Perron generator compared to the Delta 2 Max generator? If price was not a factor?
Pecron hands down.
The extra battery with ecoflow has no bells and whistles and is completely useless without the main unit.
D2Max is a better product but more than twice the money. I wouldn't say it's twice as good.
I just found what I'm replacing my Bluetti Boat Anchors with. Thanks HOBO!!!
"Bluetti Boat Anchors" 😂🤣😂 💯🔥
Has anyone been able to get the app to work with WIFi?
The battery is out of proportion because I think its more focused on them releasing a 3600 w station. At least thats the rumor. Thats the one I will be interested in. It's good to see the big boys getting some competition. Great review as always.
Can you point me to where you read about the 3600?
Does the app allow you to set the charging parameters between 5% to 95%?
I don’t need one now but almost wanted to buy it. Nice sounding rig.
This was down to $699 up to June 1st. Now the price is $759, which is still an awesome deal.
I fancied a Jackery but settled on pulling an Anker off the shelves. But maybe I could have felt somebody's Pecron.
Can you review the PECRON 500W Car Charger DC1242-500 for Cars, RVs, Trucks, etc. × 1
Is that the actual Holy Grail??? Great review of the Pecron, you have gained a SUB
What is the difference between this 1500LFP 30amp port and the Ecoflow pro Anderson port?
price is now $570 , no tax and free ship to CA,,, very tempted
IMHO this is the clear winner over similar sized Jackery, Ecoflow, and Bluetti
The upcoming E3600LFP looks like a beast. 92lbs. dual 1200W MPPT charge controllers, RV TT 30A 120V output, 3072 wat hours of capacity, 3500W inverter and supports the same EP2000 external batteries as the E1500LFP.
Are the fans too loud when charging it from a wall outlet? Can I change the watt settings when charging from wall outlet? 1400 watts seem to aggressive to the batteries.
Can you charge the 1550 and the expansion battery simultaneously with solar?
3:26 ... I didn't know that we were gonna whip out our Pecrons. I would have dressed a little nicer.
I ordered one, Thank you Tom
Are they saying what the time frame is for shipment on the pre-order?
Thank you for reviewing this.
